It was only a matter of time!!!

Well Captain fantastic has finally said it!!! This quote is taken from the OS: ?I?m sure the manager will strengthen the squad but I?m more looking forward to getting Tim Cahill back because we missed him for four or five months of the season. Bainesy missed part of it and we probably didn?t see enough of Mikel Arteta after Christmas because of his injury.

?These types of players are going to be like new players for us next season.?

There you are!! Our new players for next season are Timmy, Mikky and Baines!!

My heart has just sunk... but Seamus I think you?re forgetting our other new signings, Vaughany and Shandy, oh and Hibbo is likely to miss the start of the season so he will be like a new signing in the autumn to, not to mention Gosling, Rodwell and Jutekiewizc breaking through as first team regulars!

No need for strengthening then! Phew.

Well...

Didn’t expect there to be a rush of new players in the first place, but more than those three - there will be!

Who, now that is a question already thoroughly discussed on these pages...

Seamus you beat me to it.

Like another new signing and we dont need any foreign players cos they cost money and the kids will be alright (Who?)

On a more postive note, we can have Fernandes for a bargain £6mill!

Fernandes is worth £6m of anyones money in my opinion. Also hearing that we’re back in for Darren Bent, although the asking price is £12m. If we got £10m for AJ I think paying the same for Bent would be a good deal. He was a rated player before he went to spurs, it was just they paid too much for him, and with Berbatov and Keane he was never going to get that many games.

With the money we made on AJ that would mean an outlay of £4.4m for the both which I believe would be good business.

Make that £4.6m (maths never was my strong point!!)

Still good business though.

I haven’t posted for a long time but this GOOD NEWS takes the biscuit! I don’t see anything here that would make me want to support such a bunch of idiots. I am totally surprised that anyone else would want to either. What does that say about EFC and its fans???The mind boggles.

Only other thing of course is that Bent currently is on a reported £60k a week. This minor point may prevent us from signing him. He would be a good signing though i think he would add to the team.

Ultimately though until we here something concrete from Everton, i.e. a new signing, either loan (probably) or bought (other people's money) then we should just sit tight and wait for it to happen. If it doesn?t happen then i suspect we all will be disappointed, some more than others, but that doesn?t mean we should slag the team off every five minutes.

KEEP A.J!!
Buy Manny.

Buy a top Defensive Midfielder..

Hell I’d be happy with just that, and the rest of our players returning to full fitness.

Bring on Season 08/09 :)

Enough Gloom already..

Moyes's contract and future signings... I think we are all missing the point. If Moyes does not sign his new contract, how can he attract any new players to the club, whether the money is there or not? How can he sit there and try get a player to sign when he wont sign himself?

I have to say, I saw the same thing on the official website this morning, 3 new signings, a new team, and Andy van Der Twat still to come

You can tell things are getting desperate by the tone some of the posts on the official site.

It is a very controlled, sterile and indeed censored enviroment but in recent days there has been more than a whiff of frustration & negativity. This is quite a change from the usual comments like : Did you enjoy the Karting Ossie etc

Now if we can teach Pip to recognise the colour Royal blue before attempting to pass a ball & get plenty of black coffee on for VDM that’ll be 2 more NEW players.

Manny for £6m has to be a must!

Not so sure about Bent though, won?t sell many replica shirts!

I would be a tad happier if Neville did not keep popping up with obvious PR for the board. Someone have a word with him and explain players play football ? not club politics.

I tell you what would really be like a new signing.... A new signing would, that’s what!
