Where is Fernandes?

Comments (15)

Just had a look at the official site for some clarification on this matter. It's no help!
Fernandes is NOT on the official squad list.

However

Look on the transfers out section of the official site, Gardner and Gravesen are both listed as 'Loan Ended', Fernandes isn't there.

Also, look on the past players section. Gardner features in past defenders but Fernandes doesn't appear anywhere.

Does that mean that .....

a) The person who runs the official site has dropped a bollock?
b) He's coming back on loan as in the article but it hasn't been announced yet?
c) We're still trying to sign him and the kit delay is to announce his signing?
d)We should stop guessing!!

I think c) Maybe not Fernades but someone will be signing then. Supporters love to get the name of the new big signing on the shirt and the deal isnt in place yet.
I know the people who print the adverts for JJB and I was told a week before that the date had been put back. At first I thought it would be a cock-up with the designer or something along those lines. I was told that a certain player you would expect to be in the adverts had been pulled and was now not going to be. A certain player that lots of fans would want on the back of their new shirt and if a week late he was sold. That equals a lot of angry fans.

What it means is that either:

a) He will play for Everton next season

b) He wont play for Everton next season

Just stop worrying and enjoy the summer.

D) Definitely

But if you want to guess:

How about they are currently trying to sign him up on loan and/or permanently but it just isn’t done yet because these things take time, and the Official Site haven’t been notified.

Officially his loan spell has ended but it could be extended.

If he was put down as a Past Player then the OS would look foolish if he was taken on again the very next day, or even if they were updating the site, since ther can be a lag in posting.

Has it occurred to you that the people running the club website are not necessarily in the thick of negotiations, and are informed only with concrete news? So their information is only marginally ahead of everyone else? Maybe they don’t know?

When you play poker you don’t show your hand until the end so it’s quite right that the club’s priority is to keep their own counsel and to secure the best deals they can. Unfortunately for you (and me) this comes as a higher priority than informing fans (and thereby other parties also)

Of course, there are probably far more interesting conspiracy theories out there, BK’s a twat, etc etc , so, gents, off you go......

Except for his money value Valencia do not care for him.
Over the past 3/4 years he has been touted for sale and fully exposed to all clubs. Other than Everton no one seems in the least bit interested.
If he was half as good as some think he is why is it that only Everton rate him but only on a cheap loan and not a real deal.
Another concern is vague rumours about his attitude.

I would take vague rumours as just that.

I think the lad has done his talking on the pitch and when fit has looked a class above what we have over the last 2 seasons.

We’ve had a longer look at him than any other player and at 6 million he’s a snip IMO.

The only thing that’s certain is that NOTHING is certain.

Is it not obvious that the Premier League website made a mistake into thinking we have secured his loan for the forthcoming season? Its a mistake!

Just because its on the official Premier League website doesn’t mean its official. You could argue that it should, but it just simply isn’t.

Wowsers, they made a mistake.

He is not at Everton..No loan has been agreed and we are unlikey to have 6 million to spend on him because he is not top of Moyes list of targets, if Fernandes does return it will on on loan though yes..
As much as it annoys me to admit so I think I am at last coming to terms with the fact now that we are going to be entering the new season with a threadbare squad, the kind of squad that you should only encounter when injuries and flu kick in at Xmas time but I have to accept that unless there is some sort of miracle then we are going to be very very lucky to sign more than one player now..

With half the football world desperately seeking top quality midfielders I was wondering why Fernandez does not rate a mention on any of many and various football web pages. At least the half dozen I look at.
Shandy Andy taught me and I trust the clubs heirachy not to ignore vague rumours.

Dick Fearon, some players go off the radar a bit. A few years ago Manny was hot property but having moved around alot, not found a long term club and struggled for fitness a bit he’s bound to gone of alot of clubs radars.

It happens to alot of players. Look at Arteta for example. He was a big prospect, struggled at Real Sociedad and he to get his career back on track at Goodison. He wasn’t wanted by anyone bar Everton and now he’s in my opinion our best midfielder.

Even your man Cahill. Despite his undoubted quality only Everton and Palace wanted him. We took the gamble and he’s now one of our better players. Pienaar also fits into that catogary.

Fernandes is without doubt a talented player. In terms of all round ability I don’t think we have a midfielder who can rival him at the club. I say sign him up and watch him get better and better.
