Moyes opens talks

Glad that I am to see DM is holding talks over a new contract.... was this not supposed to have been done and dusted and merely requiring a signature months ago. That is always assuming BK can be trusted!
Maybe I missed something!

Same old BK mate, get used to his BS
It could just have easily been down to the newspapers, as the only thing to come from Moyes and the club is that they are not worried and have other things to focus on.
It is quite ironic how we all seem to jump at any reason to have a go at BK, even taking the words of the proven lying gutter press as gospel.
I’ll say it before a fervant anti BK poster says it, yes BK is also a proven liar.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Yeah it’s from a shite paper but the facts are as the custodian of our club BK should be doing everything in his power to keep our prize asset! It’s no good having a go at us for jumping on his back but the simple fact is he’s incompetent, simple as.
Anyone able to read between the lines? Moyes was obvious in delaying serious chat on the contract front until the summer budget was made known to him.
The fact that he has positively reported that talks are underway to me is a clear indication that he has got what he wants in terms of funds for transfers.
I don’t think there was any sinister reason behind the delay at all. Nothing has happened outside what DM and BK said would happen.
And in the meantime the acquisition of Steve Round adds weight to that argument.
No mystique at all. Davey will sign as soon as BB agrees to pay him £3M a year plus add-ons. And that?s even if his transfer budget is only 3/6p! Don?t canonize yet another grasping manager!
I was under the impression that his salary was quickly agreed to it was other guarantees he stuck out for namely his transfer budget and wages structure, but hey so he has almost single handed kept the pressure off Bill and also gave the fans a few seasons where after Christmas we could dream of glory instead of dreading the drop lets slag him off.
I was wandering when someone was gonna come up with a conspiracy theory. It actually came from Davie?s mouth that talks had begun, 3 quarters of people on this site are so negative. I think efc know that the Kirkby deal has been passed and that is why Moyes is gonna sign, cause if you all think about it we are not gonna make money staying at Goodison! And before all the daggers come my way, I love Goodison as much as the next blue and it will always be in my heart and soul. I agree with most of you that Bill has taken us as far as we can go and Wyness is a tool but all this infighting will kill the club not Kirkby! Support the team , if you can?t then don?t bother!
Alan Pendrice are you talking about the same manager who gave the money from the Rooney court case to an Everton charity????? Thomas Reed is right rather than writing negative speculation people on this site should start being constructive.
I personally believe that in Bill Kenwright we have a true blue Evertonian that wants to do well for the club but is not able to due to the size of his wallet. He is supportive of one of the best managers in not only England but possibly Europe. He is going into huge personal debt in order to gain the funds he knows Everton need. He is frustrated at not being able to bring investors in that will propel the club forward and is torn at the prospect of moving Everton out of their spiritual home but knows that he has to to take the club to the "next level".
As far as Moyes contract goes they both said months ago that neither one anticipated any problems. I also believe that we will sign players in the very near future maybe not of the calibre of Arshavin but players like the Lescotts and Jagielkas that are British and will be there for years to come.
As always in Moyes and Kenwright we trust. Would you rather be in the hands of feuding owners across the park??
Ajay, whilst I am also a fan of Bill Kenwright, I must correct you in that he is not going into huge personal debt to gain funds for Everton. All loans are secured on the club's assets and future income streams.
It's much the same as when Peter Johnson was there in that respect only he didn?t truly care about the club and Bill does. In that respect I don?t think Bill would risk the future of the club at all.
Well its coming to the end of July and thus far still no movement or likely movement on the horizon in the form of transfers... Why is it taking Moyes so long to sign the deal? Shouldn't this matter have been dealt with two or three months ago?
We are all still waiting for Everton to wake up in the transfer market yet everyday we get tentatively linked with someone it is either monitoring, keeping tabs or couldnt be further from the truth. One bid all summer and that was always going to be doomed to death trying to lure Aaron Ramsey here over Arsenal and Man United.
We have just over a month to build to the squad otherwise it will have been a complete disgrace if we end up having another season like 2005-06 and fail to sustain/further our progress again. We struggled badly from March onwards last season and luckily held on to what we already had but lost the battle of fourth due to our lack of size and quality in the squad.. It would be a great shame if we begin the season struggling again..
Get ready to greet a double ?good news? headline within the next 48 hours. "DK gets approval, Moyes signs for another five years."
Have no fear, both deals are completed and you heard it here first!
Everton aren’t signing anyone unless we sell Johnson. Then we might get a couple of players in. Am certainly not getting my hopes up.
Contract talks are well under way. Transfer budgets (although not publicly announced, not that ANYONE ever announces budgets) have been agreed. Firm moves to secure a back-up keeper; new right back and new holding player appear to be well under way. All three of the aforementioned were in my eyes absolute necessities before we start dreaming about the likes of bloody Arshavin and Jo (who the fuck is Jo anyway?)
If you do read this site Davey, keep up the good work. Can?t wait to see a couple of big name quality players with the blue draped over them in the next few weeks!!

Personally, I think that Moyes and Everton are spot on keeping out of the media inspired transfer frenzy. I don't want a mercenary like Bentley for £17m...a has been like Ronaldino for £22m. etc etc.
I'm quite happy for the bargain basement Cahills, Lescotts and Artetas to keep coming.
Why blow a fortune on mercenaries when there are some uncut diamonds out there?
Still no signings!!
Even the toffeeweb mailbag has dried up !!
Can the last ones out please swich off the lights?
It's ok talking about bargain basement signings boys but at the end of the day great servants as they have been they havent won us any trpohies have they? And everytime we play one of the best four in the country the result is usually always defeat. I don't want mercenaries at Everton or scumbags but I do think that there is only so much that bargain basement signings are going to do for you.
Incidently at £5 million two years ago Lescott who was in the Championship at the time cant be described as bargain basement really. I would describe Lescott as a risk that paid off fantastically.
