What is it about Evertonians...

...that expects the Chairman to find endless funds, the Manager to sign new players before the end of May and Government Office to `call-in`plans for a new stadium within hours of their receipt? We`re an impatient, demanding bunch putting ourselves through weeks of torture and misery when we should know by now that nothing ever happens before the season is days away from start up.

So why do we do it? Why do we spend hours pouring over every site that might ever have given us news of Everton? (Why, even Central Office of Information is on my favoutites list right now!)

I`ll tell you why. It`s because we care. It`s because we have deep concerns about where our club is heading ? and this year that means geographically as well as up or down the league. We just need to know ? and the longer we`re kept waiting the more restless and unsufferable we`ll all become. We want news. And we want it now!

Really? Can't we just accept that timetables are uncertain? Things change... Transfers take time... Oh, and we don't actually have much money anyway. So I say just chill out and go with the flow! We will all know when we have some real news...

I consider myself a laid back rationale blue, but even I must say, our squad -particularly midfield- is pathetically small and woefully inadequate.

By my count we have 4 midfielders (okay 5 if you include van der meyde) fit for blackburn at home... and thats stretching to include Neville. Its not that they arent fit - its just we simply do not have any.

Do we really expect to go through 60 games with 4 or 5 midfielders. even if they add this a defensive midfielder thats still only 5 when we need 7 or 8.

End of May?

In case you haven?t noticed it?s mid-July now, and the Euros are over. We should have signed someone of quality by now...

We are like all other fans. Fed crap 24 hours a day by a media with nothing to report.

I know for certain it wasn?t like this pre-Premier League.

Progress?

Not really. Just turned us all into a bunch of kids spitting out dummies because the pressies have?t arrived yet.

Could MK please just recycle posts from this time last year, especially the "we’re doomed, mid-table at best" ones, and let us all save our effort until there is some real news. Then we will have something to comment on instead of bleating like kids at a supermarket (any supermarket!!) check out.

Having been a supporter for 63 years, I find the lack of transfer news from Everton worse than ever this season. Soon after David Moyes was appointed, he stated that he would be upfront with the supporters about transfers ? come on, David, keep your promise. For a start, what is the position over Fernandes?

Journo mates tell me Moyes is desperate to tie up a deal on Fernandes but ?ownership? difficulties still make things very complicated and although he would take him for yet another loan period the player and his agent are looking for a 50% wage hyke if that is to happen. However, a deal is likely to be struck by season?s kick-off.
