Pre season farce

Comments (11)

When I paid the £17 to go to the Cambridge match, I had high hopes of seeing some new faces in blue. However, instead of multi-million pound signings I saw an unrecognisable team filled with kids. Is the squad really so poor that this is the best team we could have fielded?

Rodwell had a good 1st half but was anonymous in the second, Irving had a good game and O'Kane showed some neat touches but looks far too lightweight to figure any time soon.

No doubt Moyes will trot out the usual "it is all about fitness at this stage" but that does not really wash with me or probably the other 1,500 fans who turned up to see this farce. Van der Meyde is not even capable of beating conference defenders so don't be fooled by his recent promises. New signings are needed urgently!!!

Paul, we currently have TEN players unavailable. Everyone knows we haven't signed anyone new. The transfer window doesn't close for another six weeks. To go to any pre-season games with expectations like those is just plain wrong.

Make no mistake......THIS WAS THE BEST SIDE AND THE STRONGEST SQUAD THAT EVERTON COULD OFFER.

Forget about new signings, forget about injured players and concentrate on the players who are available. They were all down there yesterday !

There were times yesterday when players like Jagielka, Arteta and Lescott actually looked just as good as their Cambridge opposite numbers.

Our skipper did let himself down a little and the two Andys might do better at new clubs.

Where do we go from here ?

Probably Kirkby?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !

I'm sure Moyes said it was not good enough. We have alot more internationals nowadays so to be a bit fair players like Yobo, Yakubu and Pienaar are resting after the African Cup of Nations. Van de Meyde was alright, it was Johnson's first game. To be honest I think we all want more players but some posts are a little over the top with regard to yesterday's game.
I dont know when you bought your ticket Paul McGrath but if it was any time in the last two or three weeks then you should have known better than to have expected great signings etc. Things will get better.

And today you hear utter bullshit lies from KW, you know it’s lies he opened his mouth that Moutinho is on his way - my arse, maybe the fools that fell for his bullshit on Kirkby might fall for his lying shit again.

Following on from your comment Gavin Ramejkis, I wonder why KW has spoken to A Bola as opposed to telling the English papers, is he out there at the moment? You know it's bull anyway coz we never announce our targets before signing them, do we?

Hammered 4-2 by a non-league outfit and we?re happy!???

"We must do better." Er... yeah!

Reserves or no?, had this been Liverpool, we would be laughing our arses off.
All this shows that morale seems to be down throughout the squad.

Unacceptable... It was pre-season for them as well!

Get a grip please. It was pre-season, we had a team mostly filled with youngsters and reserves.

Jason Broome - Unacceptable??? Really? Who cares - it?s pre-season, all that matters is that they?re ready to play Blackburn on Day One of the season, and I?m sure they will be.

You?re all acting like Geordies - you?ll be calling for Moyes out if we lose to PNE!

Ted the people who should be swinging from gallows are "True Bullshitter" BK and his self serving serial liar of a CEO KW, if any of the three were to be pilloried then it will be the first two and most certainly not the latter.

Gavin, give it a fucking rest. Was it an official press release or an unsubstantiated quote in a foreign rag? Liars! Hang the lot of them!

Paul, have you been away from the telly, tinternet or papers by any chance?

If you actually went the game and didn?t know what kind of line-up to expect, you must have been in a coma or something.

Bluekipper had the probable line-up on their site on Friday, not really a wild stretch of the imagination to think what the line-up would have been.

Half the time the "give youth a chance Moyes" crew are on his back, then you watch a ressies game and get a chance to cast your eye over them and slag Moyes off for not filling the team with new signings!
