Useless EvertonTV

Comments (14)

I payed for Everton TV yesterday (whole £40 up front) and guess what? It doesn?t work. Missed the game. So I tried different network settings nothing worked. I got in touch with the technical department (who are useless.) Typical. At first they told me to try flip4 mac. Hold I don?t have a mac. I never said i did. Then they told me to try different settings like connecting to ADSL line. Hold on tech support read my original email. You?ll see i have tried all that. They?ve not replied since. The useless gitts!! Does anyone know if they?ll give me my money back? This is just typical of them. To say I am annoyed is a understatement!!

Shaun, it is sensitive to some settings in Media Player (PC) but once you figure these out it works really well. Have some patience and stop calling them useless gits. I think it is an excellent service, to be honest.

Micheal your right. it is an excellent service. I’ve managed to get to work. I got my friend to have a look at it. his a genius when it comes to computers. I was using firefox, that’s why it doesn’t work. But it works on Internet Explorer. Tech Support couldn’t figure it out, so they’re still useless!!!!

I’ve never had a problem with it, and the service yesterday was superb. Could you please stop blaming Everton for a problem that exists on your side.

It relies on Microsoft Media Player doesn’t it. Therein lies the probable problem. It should work with a tweak. Does Media Player work with anything on your system?

You could always try getting a Mac....................

Nice little Firefox add-on to allow you to visit certain sites using IE but within a Firefox tab. Once you set a particular site to use IE, Firefox will automatically use IE to render the sites pages in the future. I find it quite useful for EvertonTV (& various other sites that struggle in Firefox).

Just to let you all know - if you download (it’s free) SAFARI as your browser, then EvertonTV will work perfectly. Never any problems on MAC or PC.

For me it crashes both IE and Firefox with most videos so I haven’t bothered much lately. I’ll see if it works once the season starts, if not I’ll quit paying for it.

I’ve also had problems with Everton TV - the pictures froze incessantly during the live games against Sion and Cambridge United as well as viewing interviews and special features on Everton TV. It was really frustrating because in the end I had to switch off and wait for the scores to come up on Sky Sports.

Michael, got to say I really don't care for your patronising tone in this response. Shaun shouldn?t really need to "figure these out" If after paying £40 it doesn?t work. There should be adequate support to ensure it does!!

I have been an Everton supporter for over 50 years and during that time have worked for several blue chip companies. None of them based their sales philosophy on "working things out for yourself". In fact a sucessful business ensures that it?s customers are treated like royalty and that its systems and products work to perfection first time every time.

In my experience with Everton, I still believe their staff think they are doing you a favour when they sell you a ticket, serve you a second-rate pie or sausage roll (or not as the case may be) or, as Shaun has discovered, sell you an online service. Just try buying any Everton shirts etc., out of Liverpool (or even in it, as I understand) and you?ll find the merchandising policy is at best... crap!!

I share Shaun?s frustration as I have so often tried to give my beloved team my money with little success. I adore Everton as I have all my life but my God I despair of their market awareness.

Brendan, I had similar problems with picture freeze when I first signed up but, and I’m not tryin to teach you to suck eggs here, when it happened I just refreshed the page and it worked okay.

Dave Brierley, I visited JJB in Bath and Bristol recently. Not one item of EFC merchandise in either of them. Plenty of RS though, funnily enough.

Dean Paton. I have Safari and can't get on Everton tv. It tells me I need to download a media player plug-in, which I?ve tried but still won't work! Any ideas anyone????

I agree, they’re ’useless gits.’ When I was using the service in Seoul I had problems downloading the video files (never viewing them I might add as seems to have been Shaun’s problem).
The techies just said they’ve never experienced this problem and stopped responding to my emails. I figured out a long and painful workaround myself but it’s not how it should happen.

Is anybody else who has registered for Everton TV had problems trying to view the interviews/videos when they are logged in? I have an account and was able to view the Live stream of the pre-season matches but every time I click on Play to play a clip it goes to the subscription page?
