Transfers I have been told about

Comments (19)

Hi boys and girls... it's 7:30 am here and I've been trawling the net for the last hour having been on the lash since lunchtime :) (few days off:)

I am now working for an Italian football team here in Asia and come into contact with various fellas including the following: Agents ? SFX, etc; Boot sponsors, etc, etc.

Now, I heard the following today from an ex international player with EXTREMELY CLOSE links to 2 of our players;

  1. Moutinho is a definite target as well as ONE other surprise signing (wouldn't tell me)
  2. Fernandes is on ? Moyes waiting to drive price down (I pushed him if this was a reason as I believe it)
  3. Keen on Topal and M'Bia
  4. Michael Johnson from Man City and one other that I heard but can't for the life of me remember (recovery mode now).

It was a bloody wild night and if all this gets rejected in the press tomorow I don't care :)

That just means we were refused or changed gameplan... imo

I just heard about Moutinho in the last hour on the net (and was told this before the news broke)

Whatever anyone says about sources/sauces :) NO CHANCE as it's related to my work.

Don't know if this is well known but Cahill (who I think is top notch) has not healed the same bone correctly and should be ready for the season start (contrary to MOYES himself) so I guess the manager wants to be certain he is fine.

Oh, BTW I was also discussing Rebecca Loos with him (and 1 or 2 others) she was paid 750k for the story on Beckham by The Mirror. I think she is lovely :)

No complaining about the perpetuation of unfounded rumour by ToffeeWeb ? the title of the link should have been ample warning if you don't like reading this kind of thing!

Mark, your tale tallies with this. Was Milito the other player your pickled brain is struggling to recall? :)

And your bit on Cahill is confusing. His foot hasn't healed and yet he'll be ready for the start of the season...?

How is an ex-player going to have all this info on Moyes's transfer targets?

These are just rumours that have been out there for ages!

Don?t worry Stuart, it's not going to mean the end of the world if it turns out to be wrong. It's all gossip, some of it will turn out to be true, some won?t!

Gah! Right then 3 mailbags down 1 to go, please be good and insightful? Damnit it’s about Moutinho, I think I prefer mid season now, I used to prefer the summer coz of all the speculation but now it’s doing my head in.

NEWSFLASH - In summary Mark , all you have done is read the last few weeks' transfer gossip and put them in one short story. My 5-year-old could have come up with this. You work for an Italian team and pretend not to know what's going on in the transfer scene! All the so-called scoops you have listed are old news: Cahill foot story was a week ago, Michael Johnson has been constantly linked as have Topal and M'Bia, Moutinho was linked throughout the Euros, Fernandes was sorted at the end of the season. All these stories have been on this very website! The only thing new is a so-called player who you can't name. I am sorry for being so cynical but what was the point of your post. Nonsense!

Lyndon -- Milito was not mentioned at all.

Essentially the guy (as I mentioned) has strong links to the club (i.e he works with them along with other clubs)

Seems as though the echo etc are all over this today.

Still got a hangover after 10 hours kip:)

Utter tripe.

I will believe we have signed a player when I see him on the pitch against Blackburn and not before....

In The Sun..... hang on, that should be reason enough for me to not even let it enter my brain..... but anyway, it says Fulham are going to sign AJ. It then goes on to say Moyes says were desperatley short on numbers and need 5-6 more players?! Crazy!

Anyway, it's really starting to grind my gears this whole AJ thing! I don't want him to go but instead of me having to go on various websites and look through papers trying to find out if he's staying or going, Moyes or someone should come out one last time and just say "Look we're looking to buy players and we will not be selling anyone at all this season and that's that." Or say "Yes, we will be selling him" and making our squad even more thin without the guarantee of any signings ? at least we?d know where we stand!!

I don’t know if anyone else feels the same but I actually enjoy reading these ’scoops’!
I don’t take them seriously but at least it passes the time during the off season.
BTW, my uncle’s, neighbour’s sister said tomorrow will be sunny! Here’s hoping...

So I work with a guy who is a good friend of Richard Dunne.

He says Richard is still in contact with people at Everton and they confirmed to him that we would sign some quality players some of whom Mark has mentioned....... LOL!!

Silly season. Its so easy to type bullshit especially when the rest of us don?t know who you are.

By the way, Mark, The Echo have done exaclty what you did, pick up on commnets made by Wyness and Moyes about 5 or 6 players and then filled them with names.

According to the press our spending all hinges on selling AJ for £10 mill

If thats the case these very people must not be that intelligent as they say Everton will sign this player oir that player for fees way in excess of that value.

What do we believe?? Certainly not them anyway. Simple hacks who have nothing better to do than make it or or exaggerate gossip.

Like what Andy says, let's wait and see until its official.

Sorry to burst quite a few balloons, but it's just been on Sky News, Sporting Lisbon have told Everton and anyone else who wants to buy Moutinho to blow it out of their arse!!!!

Tom,

Wyness told everyone we were after Moutino.

Most of us here we questioning Mark's exclusive insider information.

As for his "Moutino is a definite target" sure he just put that in as, like I said, Wyness already stated it was a possibility.

Here?s the rub boys.

You?re Wyness and your job is to sign quality players who Moyes has identified.

'Black Bill' says you've got to pretend to make an effort even though we don't have the money because otherwise Moyes will walk.

"I know" says Wyness, "I?ll have a short break in Portugal and tell the press we?re interested in a Euro 08 star who I know will not be released by his club and I?ll change the 'Everton way' of not doing business."

Sounds all too fishy for me but then I am cynical about Wyness and his sidekick.

David Moyes as told Sky Sports News that he hopes to make 6 new signings this summer! And it says that they understand that Fulham are going to make a bid for Andy Johnson this week too?!

Hi Mark. You don't happen to work in Singapore with a company selling Serie A rights in this region do ya? Who?s boss happens to be a Juve fan.

Cause if you do, then guys, he might be on something.

Somebody said they saw Fernandes at Liverpool airport last week. They didn’t say whether he was flying in or out though.

Just check out Mark Cassin’s last contribution to the Mailbag "Russian Signings" 21/05/2008:

Very bizarre little story. I used to work with a Russian girl in Tokyo whose Dad was a top level banker in Moscow so gets the VIP tickets etc.

I e.mailed her on the total off chance whether she had any clue on these ’Jo’ and Arshavin rumours and I got the following;

"Seems like your team are getting two Russians -- Arshavin/Zhirkov. Also just read on somerrussian websites that you want 3 brazilians from CSKA Moskva". (Imagine that is JO/Dudu/Love??)

Anyway I asked her if she had any first hand news on Arshavin and Zhirkov etc -- she mailed back saying her father said next week looks like there maybe a transfer to the Premier League for Arshavin and Zhirkov is on his way too.

Thats all folks -- could be us/City or whoever but seems like we are in the mix for next week. Never heard of Zhirkov but he looks ace on youtube :)

Lyndon -- the Cahill part is basically from an ex-teammate of his (Australian).

Tells me its a re-occurrence of the same foot injury and he will be fit by the start of the season. He did say that we are not pusing him as we want to be 100% safe that he will come back well. That's why he won't be thrown in the deep end.

@Thomas Tank -- If you read my posts then obviously I am quite open about where i hear this stuff.

Seems like Arshavin is talking with Spurs now and even if WE sign him and others I mentioned I wont take credit as i am just the messenger :)

EJ Smythe -- I will have a presentation with them next week to confirm all work details though I have been making a lot of contacts before the presentation so I can put more on the table, e.g. links with boot manufaturers/ sponsors/agents and footie players...

ps: I didn't know Roberto was a Juve fan :)
