Another internet poll; probably fans on various internet sites have been canvassing for support for their own club.
Its meaningless twaddle!

"But the best has to be Goodison, though when there is something at stake. It’s a strange place, can be like a library and then explodes. It’s an angry, noisy atmosphere, intimidating (as many players have said) rather than a colourful, bell-ringing, flag-waving one."

That’s a comment from some random, but it’s spot on in my view. The atmosphere can be terrible at times, especially when we are playing a smaller club and we aren’t winning (45 minutes of silence followed by 45 minutes of getting on players’ backs), but for big games it’s fantastic.

Interesting, it's probably been swung by all the blues voting. Wonder how many of them go the game every week.

For me last season there big atmospheres weren?t around to often. There was some terrible games Bolton, West Ham, Fulham, Blackburn where you could hear Neville squeak his intructions out.

When we?re good, the atmosphere at home is amazing, but most of the time it's very sproadic.

I?ve got a mate who works for the BBC, when we?re drunk I always moan at him about our lack of coverage on MOTD. He claims is because all you can hear is "EFF OFF YOU EFFING TWAT, I?M GOING TO EFFING EFF YOU THE EFF UP" coming from the stands...

Might have a point. It is a moody old place isn?t it!

Jose Mourinho's favourite stadium but to be replaced by some mid-range shitheap.

Read again Scott, Everton 14% (1218 votes) spurs 14% (1171 votes).

That makes us second behind only Sunderland.

The vote is just a case of vote for what team you support.

Goodison does not have a great atmosphere. Anyone can point to their own teams atmosphere in Derby’s when they’re winning, 1-0 up v Man U and huge games. It should be about who has the best atmosphere when you’re a goal down to Bolton. That’s when atmosphere is needed most.

Atmosphere is needed when the team needs a lift. Thats the whole point of it. Goodison is not good in that respect.

The acoustics aren’t great at GP, but we’re all on top of the pitch, so when it gets going it is the proverbial bearpit that has been described by many ex-players/rivals and other commentators. A few more rows in the upper tiers to boost numbers directly under the roof, or a massive end stand would greatly improve the overall general noise levels ..... all achieveable at GP. At Kirkby the viewing distances are as big as they can be for a given capacity with next to no over-lapping of tiers (Check out the diferences in cross sections). There is at least a decent number of rows in the upper stands which may help but correponding rows heights are 10-15m further away and the change in intimacy could affect the atmosphere and crowd interaction. If people don’t fill it the effect will be worse again. Considering people are probably predominently voting for their own club, the results for Man U and LFC are pretty poor, especially as according to stats they have approx 4million and 3million uk fans alone.

Goodison, under floodlights, is the greatest atmosphere in English football...bar none. It is understandable that there will be long periods of silence at our home games as we listen in terror at the creaking stands and grating girders. Often very difficult to cause too much excitement, for fear that the crumbling heap (according to our CEO) might implode, making martyrs of us all.

The Kirkby stadium is shit. Why can people not tell from the artist's impressions alone that it is a sterile, bland, atmosphereless ground.

I couldn?t vote, but if I could I would have voted No.

I can?t believe people who voted Yes for this ground move, especially the ones who still believe it to be a good move.

You Yes voters have let EFC down.

In the very near future the atmosphere at all grounds will change for the worse because of the types of people beginning to watch football and the fact that traditional fans are getting pissed off with £120,000 per week wages making players into slaves!

maybe if you were eligible to vote then maybe you would be entitled to accuse people who could vote of letting the club down, just my opinion as someone who was eligible to vote.

Interesting that 4 of the top 5 in the poll are Liverpool City and North East clubs. That might say more about the passion of the people who go to the games than about the stadiums themselves. I think we and the others would make the same noise wherever we play, Liverpool city or Kirkby

Anthony Fielding...

I weren’t eligible to vote because I have never had a season ticket. My ma has always struggled to keep food on the table and a roof over our head, so forking out hundreds of quid for a season ticket was outa the question.

But I love Everton, and I know the kirkby stadium is not fit for us.
