Players set to come in

Comments (27)

Moyes was quoted as saying he will sign next week — now on official site. He wants to get players in before he signs as he promised the team that's what he would do.

I would say that it's one of the same sources as before ? Moutinho bid now upped to 17mil euros. They want 20 mil euros but are considering the bid. The info comes from one of his sponsors so I imagine it's very reliable :) I posted this last night and something similar has popped up in the Portuguese press (Correio — I think)

I've not heard much about Topal though it seems (from what I've read and also various sites) that he will cost over 8million euros as Turkish press say we have bid 4.5 and 6mil euros so far. I was also told about M'Bia still being brought in.

From Moyes statement and my contact it looks like both of these fellas will be in within 7 days. For me, gardening leave is over and I should officially start at AC Milan tomorrow :)

IMWT -- Robert Elstone now we are in your hands!

Its a bit worrying that next season Everton will be relying on a strikeforce of Yakubu, plus perennially injured James Vaughan and big Vic, now that AJ is apparently gone.

I know Yakubu had a bit of a golden run during the season, but he dissapeared during the latter games, and may have cost us fourth place. He appears to be the sort of player who needs to have support next to him in order to score, and with no AJ to scramble, he might struggle.

I saw both the Yak and Vic playing for Nigeria recently, and was not overly impressed to be honest. Blowing all of the budget on a 21-year-old midfielder without strengthening the forward line is, to me, a hazardous policy.

What's happened to JP Kissock? One minute he's the next big thing, now he doesn't even get into the touring party. Granted, I've been away for a couple of weeks so I don't know if he's gone on loan somewhere, is injured or is he just not gonna make it?

That is what I expect from Everton manager:

?I?m expecting to play over 60 games next year. I?m expecting to get to Cup finals, I?m expecting to have a long run in the Uefa Cup and I?m expecting to do well in the League. So, I?m going to need lots of cover and lots of players.?

I dont know for the rest of us but that's the only bright news/quote I've read for a while and just wanted to cheer all Evertonians up.

1 senior striker in the squad says it all, 4 senior midfielders (apart from VDM). We’ve had a small squad in the past but now it’s extremely worryingly thin. We need players fast otherwise we could be in trouble if we get injuries! I’m not liking the big hole through our midfield either I hoped it would have been sorted by now and whoever we do bring in isn’t going to have enough time to adapt and get used to the players as the season starts in 2 weeks! Good work Moyes.

Stefan,

You're quite right, after the previous few months it's nice to hear DM's aspirations for the upcoming season, and not the usual 40 point remarks.

All we need in the next 3 weeks are some quality signings, DM to sign new contract and DK to be called in!!

Roll on Blackburn!

My guess is he?ll play Cahill just behind Yak and I think that would be brilliant, cos Cahill is better than Robbie Keane and Liverpool just payed £20 mill for him, so three midfielders would do it for me.

John - I’m pretty sure that JP Kissock is injured and that’s the reason he hasn’t travelled with the squad to the USA.

If we beef up the MF with some quality signings then Cahill,Osman and/or Pienaar can all play the support role.

Mark cassin - I dont know what planet you are on or whatever you are doing for AC MIlan but you should consider a career in journalism because you have written so much shite regarding transfers this summer , NONE of which has come through. You are worse than the Sun . Are your contacts the same as the Japanese girls dad who works in a russian bank who told her everton were gonna sign Arshavin weeks ago?

Getting worse folks. AJ has failed medical, his knee is done in and Fulham want him now for £7mil. Remember you heard it first off me.

And if the AJ move goes through as expected today/tomorrow do we have premission to laugh at you and confirm you as an unreliable source at best, or worse a pathetic attention seeker?

I have been working up to this for a few hours now.....here goes......I agree with Tony Marsh.

Tony, you can’t actually say stop it, as many posters will then tell you to stop reading if you don’t like it and also it is a free forum and you cannot say what is or isn’t posted, unless you are one of the men in charge.

Mr Marsh, correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t you say that the rumours regarding Wyness were all bullshit and everyone that believed them where chumps.

Or was that a different Tony Marsh?

Firstly; that was an awesome quote from Moyesy Stefan. The most positive thing to come from the club in a long time.

Whilst I think Mountinho is a genius in the making I hope this is not at the cost of further depth. I heard somewhere a while ago that we has £20/£25m floating around for players (before all the DK links to transfer kitty etc); if that’s the case and we get £12m for AJ we’re looking at somewhere around £35m for players.

That makes Moutinho at £15m = £20m left for 5 players. £4m per head average is very decent, especially as one or two may be free’s.
With all this positivity I just hope DM has his 5/6 players lined up and ready to go because one thing is for certain, the prices and competition for players will be much higher once we get into mid august.
IMYT - COYB
PS - Bye Bye Biffa Wyness, no loss as far as I’m concerned.

By the way; in response to Tony Marsh’s comments. Everton fans are interested in possible signings as they are potentially the fellas that we’ll be supporting next year - get it???

The fact people discuss the signings in so much detail shows that we have a pashion for the club.

NOT BULLS*TTERS - FANS!!!

I have to follow up what John Doyle posted and say that I dread to think what role AC Milan are taking Mark Cassin on as, I hope for there sake its not in some Eileen Drewery/Mystic Meg capacity

Vinny, what’s your source? If he his "knee is done in" why would Fulham want him for any price let alone £7m?

@John Doyle--I don’t think you have a clue really do you?

I mentioned :
Zhirkov--wait and see.
Arshavin--looks like he’s off to spurs
Moutinho--days before we bid I said we would...
Topal...see Moutinho.
M’Bia--see Moutinho.

My apologies if you haven’t got the time with your hectic ’colouring in’ schedule but maybe you should check the time of my postings via Lyndon and the announcements.

Lo and behold one more thing--CAHILL will be fit for the start of the season...oops didn’t I say that a week or so ago???

Tony Marsh -- Sorry about the Wyness story (him resigning) I was totally wrong. As the official tak is that he quit and was not booted out.

@Steve Hopkins-- I shall take that as tongue in cheek and I hope Lyndon backs me up on my above post.

I DO NOT have inside info at all -- as I have stated on sveral occasions...only the pieces people tell me in the industry. Though I would say that my posts on news are fairly well advised.

I am not attention seeking at all though I am sure that some people would like to hear the things I am told.

If you are not interested then do not respond--simple!!!
