EFC Website News

Just to let you know, the "official news" on the EFC website last night concerning both Andy Johnson and David Moyes's contract were answers taken directly from questions asked by fans in Chicago tonight at the Globe Pub.
When Moyes answered both questions, there was an air of suspiciousness surrounding the place and he was challenged on his answers by a number of fans. Darren Griffiths (Everton PR) then moved on to the next questions rather quickly, only adding to the doubts in supporters minds. We never did get adequate answers.
Reading between the lines, Moyes was emphasising he would not sign his contract until new players were brought in. He said, and I quote, "I will not put up with second best".
We can only hope Messers Kenwright and the rest of the board have got the message loud and clear, otherwise we run the risk of losing Everton's prized asset.
It was obvious from the fans' reaction he has our 100% backing, those upstairs should show him the same loyalty.

Thanks for that, Dave.
At every opportunity, both last summer and this, Andy Johnson was at pains to point out to anyone who asked that he was happy at Everton and didn't want to leave. He sat for an hour with Everton fans in Switzerland earlier this month and reiterated that he was happy at Goodison, his family was settled in the northwest and he didn't want to go anywhere. He looked dispondent and insisted that he'd been assured by Moyes when he (Moyes) returned from holiday that he wasn't for sale.
I'm going to take him at his word because he was playing for a top-five side heading back into the Uefa Cup and looking to strengthen to have a real go at Champions League qualification in 2008-09. Why would he want to take a step down to join Wigan, Fulham, Sunderland, or West Ham? He apparently told fans as much himself, asking who in the northwest apart from Manchester United would be a step up from Everton?
Moyes is believed to have told him before the Preston friendly that it (the decision to sell him) wasn't personal, it was "just good business".
I don't know why Moyes feels he needs to add anything to the topic. He prides himself on his integrity and told the AGM a couple of years ago that "David Moyes doesn't tell lies" so I'm perplexed as to why he's choosing to raise suspicions like this.... unless he's been told to by the Board. But he doesn't strike me as needing to toe anyone's line right now ? he holds all the cards.
The whole club smells rather badly. Wyness has gone at a crucial time when new signings are needed. First team players have left or are going. The manager seems to me to be reluctant to sign a new contract. The Chairman has released a terse business as usual statement which doesnt explain to the supporters what is going on. There has been no adequate explanation as to the involvemnt or otherwise of Philip Green.Do we need to sell before we can buy?
Why is the Kirkby planning decision delayed ?
It’s clear we need about 6 new players. I foresee another transfer deadline late night disappointment.
What players would want to sign for us with all this mess going on?
Lyndon the answer to your question re a step up in the North West is Liverpool also.
You know, I know and the world knows it, so lets not kid our selves at the moment their is enough of that going on at our beloved club.
A touch of realism on every front is whats required from us all.
We dont need to even lower ourselves to subtle digs at them because we are better than them as supporters if nothing else.
Shoot!!!!!!!
There have been rumours swirling round about Johnson being unsettled from three months into his Everton career. He?s also been walking round with a face tripping him for about the same period. I have no doubt that he wants this move. He was all smiles at Selhurst last night, now that he?s back down south.
It was obvious AJ was on his way when he was dragged off a minute before pens v Fiorentina.
When we needed a goalscorer to bag a pen either he bottled it and let the club down and wanted to come off or Moyes decided he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo
I fail to see how anyone can interpret any of the events of the last few days - sorry, there has so far only been one event - as reflecting badly on David Moyes? integrity. I remember him saying that he wouldn?t let AJ go without a replacement - well let's see what he means by that. If we get a young Portugese player who knocks 10 in next season, who would ever remember this discussion?
I think we are in a period of exciting times, and not as the Chinese might have it, interesting times.
AJ has failed a medical ? his knee is done in.
Moyes is as much a part of the conspiracy as Bully or Soft Bill ? more than capable of lying as the rest of them!
Get bloody real!
Can anyone confirm that AJ was suppossed to be unveiled this morning by Fulham??? No news comin from them or EFC, why? Is it true he?s failed a medical........ On another note I?m made up that Wyness has gone, he had no interest in EFC. But Why has he gone now, does he know somethin we all don?t? there?s too much paranoia floatin about but it Happens every summer with the BLUES.......
Lyndon,
You believe who and what you want to believe, that’s your choice but I’m choosing to believe Moyes. I can’t understand why anybody would want to call Moyes’ honesty into question.
If I recall correctly, it was AJ who refused to play against Preston last wednesday because Everton had accepted a bid of £10.5 million for him and Moyes was furious with him. Now normally when a club is selling a player they don?t allow him to play in friendlies so why would Moyes be angry at AJ's decision not to play. As it turned out the club did not accept the bid of £10.5m but did accept a subsequent bid of £12m.
Does it not make more sense that AJ took the hump because we turned down the fulham bid because he actually wanted us to accept it because he wanted to leave. That would also explain why Moyes was angry at him for not playing and may also explain why we accepted the subsequent bid, ie Moyes deciding to wash his hands of a player who was no longer onside.
If there is one person at this club I do trust it is Moyes 100%.
All this conspiracy puts X-files to shame. It could only happen at Everton. Can’t see AJ ’coming back’ from this though. Maybe we’ll do a Barry then?
