A certain lack of ?..

In all the excitement about the lack of transfer activity, lack of a CEO, lack of a strategy (if you believe most of the threads), lack of a striker, lack of a new ground (again if you believe most of the threads who assume the lack of a new stadium is directly connected to our current lack of a CEO), lack of a holding midfielder, lack of a top half finish because Spurs are spending lot of money, lack of our own money, lack of a Moyes signed contract, lack of love for our Bill, lack of unrestricted views at Goodison, lack of corporate sponsorship to enable us to compete with the big boys, lack of a healthy knee for AJ, lack of a plan B, I clean forgot the most important thing that is lacking at the moment is my season ticket.

Now I go on holiday soon but I have been reassured by the box office, and I have no reason to doubt them, that there are two possible scenarios that will occur.

1. My season ticket will fly through my letter box within the next seven days and all will be well. Interestingly my credit card was debited, for the full amount, before the end of March on the day I renewed on line, the simple option I think it was called. Delivery will be approximately 19 weeks after I paid for the goods. I am no expert but that does not sound like a slick logistics system. If I had been a new season ticket holder I would have picked it up at the ground at the same time as I paid.

2. My season ticket does not fly through my letter box and I return home on the afternoon of Friday August 15th, yes you guessed it one day before the Blackburn game, with no ticket for the game. The very nice lady told me all I had to do was phone up and she would arrange for me to pick up a new season ticket from the box office on match day. I hope it will be that simple.

Am I alone?

The way things are going Martin the lack of your season ticket might be a blessing in disguise. It is just symptomatic of the shite orgainsational structure of the club that it takes four or five months to send a season ticket to a supporter. Did you ever! If it was any onther industry you’d have cancelled your order ages ago. Incompetance from top to bottom [with apologies to those who work at the club and are trying their best].

The ticket office has been a shambles for years now last year after we beat Portsmouth in the league I went to que for Uefa cup tickets and the computers went down there was no back up plans for what to do and we where waiting there over a hour while many others just went home, the stewards where actually talking about how the situation had happened eariler in the week when they were far busier, the fact is the system and (lack of) staffing is not set up to deal with large numbers of fans (i.e more than 10) hence why so many of our cup games have been delayed kick offs and resulted in fiascos were fans have often been sent away when there where infact empty seats. The club is run like a non league side rather than a premiership side an absoulte JOKE. The people running the club are just plain incompetent what other word can be used to describe people who never ever learn from their mistakes and just keep repeating the same mistakes year in year out. One final point did anyone notice what came with our seasons tickets this year a) A discount in the club shop b) 10% off membership to evertonfc tv C) 5 free postcards of fans faces.

Thank goodness for those postcards otherwise i would have felt unappreciated.

I spoke with the box office yesterday as I have not yet had my season ticket paid for in March). I was told the last batch were posted 2nd class mid last week.

I was then told to wiat till the 9th Aug (2 weeks) before asking for a replacement.
I know the PO are rubbish but 2 weeks is a bit much.

I can see it now 10 000 cheesed off season ticket holders Q’ing up on Aug 14th!

Hope the new CEO sorts out this shambolic tickting system?!
