So now it`s `three or four`!

What a difference a day makes! Only yesterday, Moysey was telling us it was vital to bring in `five or six` quality players. Now ,after a bollocking from the boss, it`s down to `three or four`!
I`ve never subscribed to the view that there was any great differences between Chairman and Manager ? they`re joined at the bloody hip ? and with a £3M a year contract up for grabs, the Ginger One was never about to follow the Fat Man out of the door. I suspect that by the 16th we shall have just `one or two` quality players in place with a vague promise of more in the next window. Another crisis over!

Harry,
For god?s sake stop moaning. I?m sure most Evertonians will be glad of 3 or 4 quality players. I?m fed up fo so many people being so negative. So what if he said 5 or 6, now he?s saying 3 or 4, he can say what he wants as he is Everton manager. Let him get on with it and support him and the mighty blues.
He has not done too badly so far in his 6 years in fact I believe he has done bloody marvels. So please do not follow all the other sheep and start moaning the moment he says something slightly different to what he previously said.
Have we got Arthur Daley brokering our deals or something???? We have now, apparently, had another bid rejected for a Bilbao youngster. That?s all I?ve been reading about us.. bid rejected.. bid rejected... bid rejected!!!! This has got to be the most frustrating pre-season for a long long while!
I?d rather three quality players than six bench warmers, let's have some faith in Mosey!
Moyesy still wants to bring 5 to 6 players in but he wants 3 to 4 of them to be big money signings, quality players that are good enough to go straight in to the team! I'm with you Ian; I'd be glad to see 3 to 4 quality signings brought in because starting 11 wise we need a right back, a defensive midfielder and another midfielder (Moutinho would do nicely!) and a striker to partner Yak and then bring in 2 squad players to boost the numbers which would make six signings all together, like Moyesy wants!
I think he?s been told by BK to lower our expectations but at least 3 or 4 is looking better than it was this time yesterday.
Of course that's always depending on Billy Bullshit finding the money!!
I think DM?s comments may have been misenterpretted. His comment about 3 or 4 players is more likely regarding 3 or 4 high-profile captures (e.g. Joao Moutinho, M'Bia) with perhaps 1 or 2 less proven lads to come in a la Joleon Lescott two seasons ago. To be honest I?m just happy that Moyes has dismissed the quit rumours.
I think Aide Dews is spot on.
We don’t need 5-6 big money signings. We need 3-4 tops to go straight into the side. The back four and the goalkeeper currently pick themselves as do Arteta, Pienaar and Cahill in midfield and Yak up front.
We need a couple of midfielders - Moutinho will do nicely - and possibly someone like M’bia or Topal for the obvious physical presence that we’re lacking. With AJ gone/going we also now need another forward.
The other two (of the 5 or 6) Moyes was referring to are to pad out the squad.
I don’t know why people feel the need to dissect every sentence and pick holes in every quote, although I do accept that the lack of transfer activity has most people, myself included, a little on edge.
And can we please stop the "Billy Bullshit" stuff. Regardless of your oopinion on the man, that kind of nonsense has no place in any kind of grown-up discussion.
Don't forget that, according to the captain for the next 4 years, getting a fit Baines, Cahill and Vaughan is like signing 3 players. We only need sign one more then.....
I am as frustrated as every Evertonian but let's not blame Davey ? without him we would not be in the Prem. Let's hope we can get the three or four players in and a few on loan and Davey will perform his miracles again. We don't have a shitload of money so we have to spend it wisely.......... I don't like the last sentence but thats the way it is... COYB!
Sigh....Moyes said 3 or 4 "quality" signings......so OBVIOUSLY -- IF HE CAN AFFORD IT (AND WE ALL KNOW AFFORDING IT IS AN ISSUE) -- he wants 3 to 4 top players and couple of squad players would be nice too. Sounds pretty straightforward to me.
As to him being the first to be "sacked", what an utter crock of nonsense!!!!! It is obvious that Moyes on a shoestring can perform miracles... his loyalty and character are to be applauded... if only he could truly buy all the players he wants!
If I won the lottery I?d buy him a player!!!
I’m with a few of you guys on this. I thought Moyes said he wants 3 or 4 top quality first teamers PLUS 1 or 2 squad members. I’m just glad both Moyes and BK have come out and stopped the rumours that were getting very unhelpful indeed.
3 or 4 top drawer signings with a couple of lesser names to bolster the squad?
Yes Please!
Leave Moyes alone. Last time we had truly awful Summer in 2004, he galvanised the team and we claimed 4th the season after. Here’s hoping! :)
I agree that Moysie meant 3 or 4 players, at the top end of the market, player?s who will improve us, this has always been Moysie?s wish that every season the only players he buys will not be lesser, even similar, but better. This philosophy has without doubt made us so much better, even on a shoestring at times. But now is the cruch, with the squad or first 15 at a good standard, if we bring in better it will cost... Moutinhio for £15 m, the prime example. But then Moysie states we don?t have bundles, now how much does he think these players will cost?
I wonder with the ?great team? behind the scene?s, why do we always struggle with transfers? Spurs have bought in 7 and sold 6 in the last 2 weeks, can you ever imagine the Everton team doing this? Anyway I shall retire to the sack and dream of any good news tomorrow.
Moutinho is not a likely signing according to the Observer so I think we should be looking some alternatives e.g. Xavi Alonso ? and what happend to Michael Bradley, Manual Fernandez and Joachin?
Ax Just to get away from the politics. Once Davey Moyes gets the cash to bring in new players, who should we buy?
We deffo need a holding midfielder to replace Carsley.
We need a box to box midfielder and this is were Moutinho name has been banded about. The reason i,m writing this thread, is, to ask, is their a better player available who is already settled on merseyside?. The player i,m talking about is Alonso of the shite. I think he would be a great buy, Both Alonso and Gerrard cannot play together in the same side, just like Lampard and Gerrard for England. I watched Alonso for spain in the Gerrard role and he played really well. He,s available, He,s mate plays for us, they need the money to fund the Gareth Barry transfer, so lets get him.
