So that’s 2 new signings after Steve Round. Or does promotion within doesn’t count?

Someone on 606 dug out an old profile (nov 2004 so probably shortly before he joined EFC).

Qualified as an accountant at Deloites, joined the Rugby Football League, worked there during the time Sky got involved and the Superleague started. Was offered a job at Sky as a result. Left Sky to go back to Deloites to work for their sport business section.

Sounds the right background but does seem to be only a temporary thing.

Well, that's just great isn?t it. Promote the Deputy CEO, who remeber would have worked in tandem with Keith Wyness and have similar views and ideas about running the football club. Truly a major gaffe by Everton again. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

I was hoping a new CEO will head Everton in a new direction. But this will NOT be the case now.

If indeed he proves me wrong, why the fuck didn?t he speak up whilst Wyness was ripping the heart out of the club?

Hhmmmm...
Methinks he will need a nice nickname - let me start the ball rolling with "Chinny".

Shaun,

The guy hasn’t been promoted into the postion. He has stepped in temporarily until a suitable replacement for KW is found.

Also when you are a deputy or sidekick you always go along with your no 1 especially if you want to make it in the business. Then when your time comes ala now for this lad you get to change what you want.

its just smart business.

But my main point again is he ain’t the new CEO he’s in temporary charge. All of the articles clearly say that.
