Press Conference rumour

Comments (16)

My mate Frank was just at the Park end ticket-office, buying tickets for the PSV game. They mentioned that a Press Conference has been scheduled for 4pm today. My guess would be that it's to announce the new acting CEO - however, I'm not sure if it'd be worthy of a press conference when an OS announcment would suffice.

I believe when I see it. No news from anywhere else about a press conference.

Looks like there’s nothing in that one Rob.

With regards to our new CEO, I was interested to read on the OS that

"Robert?s also been responsible for substantial commercial progress in retail"

Am I missing something there ?

This is Frank, Rob’s mate - he’s pulling your legs.

Why Rob, Why?

I?ve heard we?re in discussions with a young Brazilian player called Gilbertson. Comes from a normally reliable source...

I would have thought they would put it on the official site if there was to be a press conference, but nothing! I also like the bit on the end of the ?away kit launch? story where it goes on about it being £5 for any squad name and number then says ?perhaps our new number 10? (only been here 4 seasons), I swear they like to wind us up!!

These press conferences are going to fail unless they invite people. I can picture it now Moyes Bill and Moutinho Smith manny all sitting there while only the cleaner hovers around them.

Hmmm... I didn’t realise my rumour had actually been posted - I was looking at the previous thread I’d posted on.
Frank still maintains it’s what the Ticket Office girl told him - anyone live near the Park End??

Well, there’s two minutes yet - could still happen.

Phil Neville has turned up. He said: ’’Having Rodwell, Gosling and Baxter in the team are like new signings. He’d rather have youngsters in the team then a foreigner who doesn’t care’’. That’s it press conference over.....

Hi, this is the real Frank. Sorry to have caused such a stir, but the lady in the ticket office did say that. Obviously, we are all depserate for ANY news which comes out of our club. I for one think that EFC has become very profficient with regards to holding back any info on any dealings we have. It’s fair to say that EFC holds its cards very close to its chest. So, I was encouraged by several people I know, that, when picking up tickets for this weekends upcoming fixture, it would have been a great idea to ask for any info as to who we aould be signing. I know it was the ticket office, but bloody hell, we’re desperate to know anything right now. But she DID say that to me, to which I replied ’4pm?’, to which she said ’yes’!
Yet more disinformation, maybe!

Why would the girl just happen to mention that there is a press conference to somebody buying a match ticket? Did she tell every customer today?

Maybe not every customer buying tickets asks such a question, but I did.

Well according to the Echo website Moutinho ? like M?bia earlier ? will NOT be joining Everton and they plan on staying with their respective clubs. I see this as a positive, we all know how reliable the Echo is, therefore the "press conference" is to clearly to announce we HAVE signed both players!

Okay, Boys and girls... time to draw a line under this particular thread of silliness. Is this what happens when I take a break to lie in the sun and read Alex Young - The Golden Vision ? a superb book by the Honourable Dr David France.
