The Mail Bag

Episode 4: A New Hope

The blame game is rampant, what was or wasn't the right or wrong way forward, right or wrong location. Who did or did not scupper it, etc, etc, etc.

This is all in the past, done, gone, build a bridge and get over it.

The main problem is where do we go from here, both on the field and off it, because make no mistake, this is the very last chance, there needs to be a sea change of how the Club is run (or in our case right now...NOT RUN )

This is were the EGM comes into play. the Shareholders hold the power, in theory anyway.

Yet, all depends on BK seeing that, having nailed his colours to the Kirkby mast, he is now a busted flush...

HE IS ALL TIP AND NO ICEBERG!

Q. Bill 'owns' the shares... but who owns him? Is it the harlem shuffle guys, Green and Earl? Where do they stand in all this?

Find a figurehead face-saving position for Bill if we must, but new faces, untainted by the Kirkby debacle and all the others as well, MUST explore ALL options with ALL parties.

EGM guys... do your stuff... get your shit together.

Or else, eventually, it's Accrington Stanleydom for us all...

Why is this our very last chance?

Surely we can continue to put up with this nonsense for another 5 years.

We continue to put up with this because we have done so for so long!!! It?s not right as we know but there?s nobody to plough the streams of money in to us when we have the other shower across the park getting their own way with the ground move etc and the 08? thing going on right under our noses whilst not being able to do jack all about it! No bobody will touch us!!!

Don?t pin too many hopes on the EGM. Yes they may be able to ask some awkward questions and make Bill squirm a bit but he is used to fudgeing his way around things and the other shareholders don?t have any real power.

As, I believe, Kenwright owns about 26% of the shares and Earl about 23%, I cannot see too much happening at the EGM.

The EGM will not be an open forum. Discussion will be limited to those matters appearing on the agenda ? and that?s likely to be very narrow indeed. No resolution can be put to the meeting and even if it were to be, the principal shareholders would carry the day by virtue of ?one vote for each share?.

It?s all going to be hot air re DK and BB will probably say, "We?ll take note of your feeling when considering the matter with our partners."

EGM= Waste of time!

Show me anyone who publicly say?s they will invest X amount in Everton and the problem is BK....

If that happens I will hold my hand up and say I am wrong... (I support Bill)

Until then I?m happy with the progress we have made....

Unlike forum threads, the EGM will be fully reported. This has not fallen out of thin air, or even hot air it is the result of a process. EGM’s by definition are real "heads-up" occasions....... The concerns are real, and some were aired at the last AGM when the club fell well short when facing a raucous room of unhappy shareholders. For this occasion though those issues will be focussed in on. DK’s misgivings etc will be highlighted and exposed, and the resultant responses made common knowledge via local and national media. There’s only so much dodging they can do.

I?m not fully conversant with the procedure but if Bill Kenwright does not give a plausable reply to the questions asked of him at the EGM, cannot the shareholders call for a vote of no confidence against the board? And if so what are the likely repercusions of this, win or lose?

The Board would win any vote of confidence hands down by virtue of their voying strength. There is NOBODY waiting in the wings to take on the debts guaranteed by Blue Bill and his mates so what would be the point?
We all know that IF the team gets off to a reasonable start all the moaners will fade away except for the Kirkby Anti mob - although that saga could run for the next five years!

Tom Hughes,

Even if you get this phyric victory of totally embarrassing the club in the eyes of the nation how will this help the club?

Will BK suddently announce his resignation? Will Kirkby fall on its head (it may do anyway without the EGM).

Will some mystery investor turn up and say in true Kinnock style "let me rescue you from your wrong doers"

Whats the point?
