?Bring Your Boots? Campaign
Comments (39)
Hello!
In light of all the absolute dejection at the club regarding no transfers, CEO leaving etc. etc. I think it's time to do something about it.
However, a "Kenwright Out" campaign is utterly pointless. How about doing something a bit more "Everton" in terms of humour and less "Kopite" in terms of gobshite!
An idea has been posted on the website BlueKipper which I found to be a decent suggestion ? how about a "Bring Your Boots" campaign for those going to Goodison Park for the Blackburn game on Saturday?
Basically, this would involve digging out any old pair of football boots and stringing them round your neck while watching the game ? the idea being, "we have no squad so ? if you need someone to play, give me a shout!"
I think it'd be a really vivid image and projection of our objections to the woefully inadequate pre-season we've had to endure.

Let's all do it! Use it as some form of protest against the club with regards to our lack of squad depth.

I’ll only do this if Andy Van Der Meyde does the same and makes himself available with his boots around his neck :0)
I think it?s a bit too early for that, considering we may have a lot of youngsters playing or coming off the bench we probably need to show support more than ever, and I am as pissed off with the club as anyone.
I’ve kept myself quiet on here throughout the summer happenings(or not as it has been). But this tickled me and i must say wouldn’t be too cringe worthy. I don’t know how many would do it, but it would certainly get our point across. But does anyone actually think BK and indeed anyone else around inc. the usually unobservant media think we are fine with the goings on at our club this season. I’d rather we packed the stadium to the rafters and got behind the team like we have on so many memorable occasions. With a high chance of more than one player making their first ever starts or getting their first ever game for us, anything other than full support for the lads could be alot more destructive to the rest of our season than the lack of incomings so far. This could be the making or breaking of our future this Saturday. Protest or no protest let us not lose track of why we pay our hard earn money year in, year out. And thats to see our boys feed us encouragement that we can more than give back. And who knows come Saturday night, maybe things wont be all that bad.
Has Shandy Andy even got a pair of boots? Someone needs to lend him a pair...
James, I think this protest could work with the fans still giving everything. I’d be tempted to turn up in my yello away with blue lightening NEC top!
James Mako it’s exactly that devotion that Billy Bullshitter relies on every year as DM digs him out of the shit. A protest this weekend is a MUST, make that blue rinsed charlatan know exactly how you feel and lets hope the national press and sky get onto it too. The players are smart enough to know it’s not a protest against them as they don’t buy and sell the squad or bullshit the fans saying we have funds in place or new players on their way when they simply haven’t.
Protest before and after the game. If we don?t do anything now . BK and his crew will do this time and time again ?cos we are letting them get away with it. Like Gavin says the players will know the protest isn?t against them. Let them know we ain?t falling for their shit anymore. Hopefully the camara?s
will pick it up and embarrass the cunts.
Then again they prob don?t give a shit.
Has anyone else seen what Arteta has said about signings on the OS? They?ve even got him at it.
....Matter of fact. I think everyone should throw their boots at BK and his crew, just to make sure he gets the message!!!!
I?ll defo do this but... I don't want to turn up at Goodison like a stupid cunt on my own, so if you're doing this post and say that you will...
I think my boots from the early 50s might be regarded as an offensive weapon these days so count me out.
Personally I think protests at matches, no matter how justified, serve little purpose except to aid the opponents. For my part my energies will be supporting whoever wears the blue jersey.
My wife has stopped having sex with me, but you won't see me with a condom round my neck in protest.
This is not the time to be letting potential signings realise that there is a lot of unrest at the club. Our demonstration will not make any major changes to the management of the club between now and Aug 31st, but could effect signings. Its a bit like KW leaving at the time he did, a lot of us wanted him to go but not until he had finnished his work sorting out our summer transfers. Lets demonstrate big style once the window closes and make some big changes in time for the next window.
As much as I like the idea, it has to be said supporters donning their boots round their necks will have them confiscated as they will be deemed as a missile.
Best bet is to show your support for the players as we still love them no matter what.
Good idea. I really think that it is up to Kenwright to be more open about stuff. This cloak of secrecy, does nothing but aid suspicion about what is going on behind the scenes. I think he owes the supporters at least some idea about why we havent signed any one, and the reasons why. Otherwise the fans will eventually rightly feel anger and revolt. There may be no problems at all and waiting for right players, but the fact it is silent apart from speculation, and Moyes not signing a contract is obviously worrying for a fan.
In the official EFC website they are still showing the papers reports of imminent transfers Love, Moutinho, Milito, M’Bia and Smith as if they have some merit..I for one do not think any of the big names will sign but if we get over Blackburn with a depleted team perhaps one or two of the supposed stars will actually sign before the end of August as has been promised..If not then the best way to protest is not attend, a show of protest like wearing football boots around the neck will make us even more of a pantomime club than we already are....it is really childish to my mind and will make all the rest of the clubs bray like donkeys at us..
Only one protest will ever work - vote with your feet. That is the only protest that the board will ever understand - simple. I believe a lot of season ticket holders have been conned with the ?early bird? renewal programme - it's looking like we may not have value for money this year if things remain the same (understatement of the day award).
Oh lords..i’ms gonna brings me boots to the game...I wanna get it together oh yer....dyg x
I agree in doing the protest but more than ever before we need to rally behind the players too, protesting the lack of actions from the board is fine but make sure between every attack at the nongoings on this summer, we give credit to every player on the park giving it there all.
Goodison is the greatest place on Earth when things are going well.
But when theres uncertainty in the air it can be one of the worst places to be.
everyone needs to come together for the team and be that 12th man come Saturday COYB
How about this slogan, " Gizza a job, I can do that", sounds familiar Chaps, Boys from the Black stuff....................I’ve still got my Alan Ball Boots........Bless Him....
Lee
I think its a great idea.
Proper scouse humour.
I think it would make the lads on the pitch laugh and relax them a liitle bit especially if we give them plenty of encouragement.
The only problem I see as Mike Carney says is that they may get confiscated.
But if a group got together with the sky cameras outside it could raise some embarassing questions for "Black Bill"
My only problem is I hung up my boots years ago.
Trainers any good?
Or what about miniature kids bootees to wave like rattles. They’re only a few quid and we could get them in silver rinse grey.
Only thing is they wont have them in the EFC merchandise shop!!
I won't be there (perhaps the Pompey game) but think its a great idea.
We take too much shit from our club and do too little about it.
I am at the point where the despair is such that I think HARDCORE protests are justified.
We need to sit up and be counted and demand the club hear us and give us answers.
All we ever get is rumours and spin - no truthfull is ever willingly given to us, we are left to wonder, gossip and suppose.
The lock down on information given to us is akin to that of a Communist Government.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK
Michael
I think we need to be the 10th and 11th man as well.
True Jay and poss 9th Man too.
Its a completely naff idea. We’re Everton and better than that. Potential signings will see the pictures and give us a swerve.
Get a grip
Anyone swap a pair of boots for some slightly used ballet shoes?

I’ve posted recently saying things like ’ whatever opinion we all have it proves we all love our club’ etc and ’we should support the team’ in the hope that we would realise that whatever gripe we have about different issues the one common thread is our support of EFC. However, I’ve just read this and am sittin thinkin what a pathetic bunch!
’Gizza job’ (scouse humour or scouse stereotype?), ’wear your boots in front of sky’ (why so everyone else can laugh at us), not really HARDCORE by the way!, ’throw your boots at bill’ (to reinforce scouse stereo....?), ’akin to a communist government’ ((jesus christ (am I allowed to say those words if we’re under communist rule?) be real).
How about a different type of protest...all get some pennies and try to set up a fan buyout of the club??? or would that be time consuming and you wouldnt be able to rant and rave when the signings dont arrive etc?
No matter what crap I’ll get from this post I do know one thing I’ll always support the team (and not boo them by the way!) and hope somehow we can get back to where we belong at the top!
@ Brian Christopher
When I said HARDCORE I was not reffering to "boots round the neck" - I am thinking more Fathers for Justice style!!
What I mean is stand up and be seen.
"Kenwright out" at half time or a bit of swearing from the Park End aint gonna do anything.
we need to make a real stand.
Any thoughts?
As if potential signings are going to turn down a move because a few hundred people have got boots round their necks! Its a quality idea but sadly I fear it wont make one tiny bit of difference to the lying fucker running the club. The only way we might sign anyone is if we turn up, club together and buy them ourselves.
I am looking forward to Moyes’s press conference / post match comments. Its only my opinion but I really cant see him being over the moon about the situation. Its probably because he is a top man he is that he hasnt followed KW and jumped the very nearly sunken ship, but surely there is only so much he can take after the hard work he has put in. Very very Sad.
I’m off on holiday now and I will be trying to forget the most depressing pre-season since 2004. Actually, it’s worse this time as back then we hadn’t just come fifth and had no real expectations anyway.
I hope that when I return we have somehow secured 6 points, 5 players and Moyes’ signature. Of course, I could be returning to no points, no new players, 5 injuries and Moyes having resigned......
I have been optimistic until now, but this has become crazy. All I ask of my fellow matchgoing Toffees is that YOU GET BEHIND THAT TEAM ON SATURDAY....THEY NEED YOU MORE NOW THAN FOR A VERY LONG TIME!
I?ll bring my boots along on saturday..
..but I?ll be pretty pissed off if I?m not allowed in because they are seen as an offensive weapon!!!
With this season seeing the introduction of SEVEN subs are we going to make history on Saturday by only naming 4 or 5 subs!!

@Jason Williams
my thoughts.....
I am a dad myself and fortunately havent had to make any ’fathers for justice stylee’ protest (thank god), but if its that kind of protest you’re after then will look forward to 30,000 people paragliding into GP with boots wrapped round their neck and handkerchiefs as parachutes!
The real stand is to buy the club!
If we all clubbed together could we afford to buy it and then buy players also?
If we could then great...champs league here we come!, if we cant...then maybe its not as easy as it looks.
I imagine Health and Safety will result in all wearers of boots being barred from the ground. The studs and steps will be a no no. So good plenty of room inside as all protesters will be outside. Might get a drink at half time yippee
If boots around neck will be a risk of strangulation so also against Health and Safety Nazis. Also given design of modern boot metatarsal injuries will be caused to high proportion of spectators as has affected high proportion of squad. Best protest would be to all come on crutches as most of squad are on them.
What is all the fuss about?
Maybe I?ved missed something here, but don?t we still have the 5th best team in the league, with a manager the envy of most, a chairman who has backed his manager every single time he?s asked? Do those contemplating protests not know the damage you could cause to team spirit/moral? There hasn?t been a ball kicked in anger yet and ?fans? want to rip the club apart but to what end? I?m glad that the vast majority of supporters are only interested in supporting the team and understand the only effect we can have is by the support we give the team at the match. 2 examples spring to mind, one good one bad.. Fiorentina at home.. we all believed we could win and we did, the support that night visibly lifted the team giving them belief.(yes I know we lost on penalties) but didn?t we play some great stuff!! The bad effect is when we didn?t believe ..remember being 2-0 against Manu but when they made it 2-1 we all went silent because we wouldn?t believe we could win the game.. and the team visibly wilted.. The effect of the crowd on the players is well documented in many games (for many clubs).. we are a different class to most other supporters in the way we support our club.. We now have to show positivity rather than negativity because really boys n girls the season starts on Saturday and we?ve got a really good team deserving of our support!!
As the old slogan used to say..GET DOWN TO GOODISON!!! you know it makes sense....
Tommy, Maybe I?ved missed something here, but you said don?t we still have the 5th best team in the league. That was last season wasnt it. Didnt we once have the best team in the league in the eighties. Seems a shame to live in the past but maybe you are right. I wish I had your optimism but for various reasons out of our control we will always be known as the team that nearly did it and then everyone forgets. Unless we progress now it will be the same or worse. That is the frustrating bit.
If ye turn up early enough you’ll be in the starting XI.
A pitch invasion is the only thing that might get any publicity but would only result in a loss of points.
Still, drastic action is needed to remove the rabble who presently infest the boardroom at Goodison.
How on Earth has it come to this?
