Can anyone tell me if James Vaughan is definitely out for the first 3 games due to suspension?

I don't think it's been made official yet, Paul, but they should probably get a move on with the decision!
Surely they cant suspend him this late in the week! We could be preparing for weekend with him in starting 11 only to be told on Friday he is banned. It will and can only happen to our club!! p.s Is there any one out there with any lies to tell about us having players in for medicals. Vinnie Bird has disappeard of the face of the earth after saying on sunday that Moutinho and Mbia were due here Monday!!!
Andy dont forget that we are not one of the Sky four who write their own rules.so dont be suprised if a suspension comes through on Friday.
Isn’t there only a suspension if the Referee involved reports it to his seniors?
Who would then pass it on to the relevent authorities.
So in this case an MLS ref passes it on to his bosses. Who then pass it on to FIFA as it was an international club friendly.
In turn FIFA pass it on to the FA
James Vaughan, never has a player been given so much credit for such little output.
Seriously, what has this guy done in the last two years except be injured?
It had just been announced that Michael Chopra has today been banned for the first 3 games of the season for the pre-season friendly sending off in the game between Sunderland & Sporting Lisbon.
Wouldnt we be able to appeal the sending off which would mean that there would be a delay allowing vaughan to play?
Oh jeez Dutch... maybe because he’s just really good and he hasn’t had a prolonged run in the side... here’s hoping.
Appeal in what regard? He could’ve snapped the bloke in half!
Moyes has always stated we will never try to change his aggressive streak, well I suggest he should, as he has lost out on so much football over the past two years simply because of it.
Even if he was available he hasnt played in a friendly since his sending off....? Whats that about?
CORRECTION - Michael Chopra’s ban only starts on August 26th, if Vaughan is banned then surely they will be similar terms to Chopra’s meaning he will be available for Saturday vs Blackburn.
Whats Vaughan done? Scored 7 goals in 8 starts for the Blues. He’s shown enough promise for me, sadly he’s had serious injury problems.
His agressive streak has nothing to do with his injuries, I can’t think of one of his injuries that has been his fault because of his agression.
Keep your energy and enthsiasm Vaughan, just get a good pre-season under your belt and take it easy.
Even if he was allowed to play he wouldn’t start, he’s only had 30 minutes of friendly football. Thats not enough and especially for someone who’s had such a serious injury. He’ll be worked in slowly.
I’ve looked into it and theres no mention anywhere of him being banned - theres no mention of the referee putting the incident in his match report either, in fact theres no mention of it anywhere apart from the actual match report after the game.
On the OS under the suspensions header, theres nobody listed, and I even had a search round the FA website where theres also no mention of it.
Like Anthony says, even if he is banned, it wont come into effect until after the Blackburn game anywhere.
Connor I am quite sure one of his major injuries he has had was whilst diving in like a lunatic in a freindly against Preston or Northern, we all love a bit of aggression but in this day and age it does players no good to be too agressive, take a look at the big fella and how it had an affect on how he was treated, football has gone against these type of players and on a few occasions he has jumped in like someone playing sunday league in the park, I do recall his reserve return last year resulted in Stubbs who was manager for the game, giving him a right bollocking in the press for such a challenge and at the end of the day he could of had a chance to get off to a flyer on saturday with a first team start, when now he could be waiting untill October for his chance ,if we do sign another forward that is, he has not played enough football and whilst most can be called unlucky quite a bit can be blamed on how he plays his game.
He also got a very bad cut to his foot from his exhuberent style - but thats the way he plays, wholeheartedly and energetic. Would he be a better player for curbing that enthusiasm a bit? Only time will tell i guess. I for one love the drive and energy he brings to a game but if it is going to result in him getting injured a lot is it worth it....
Seamus , he was kicking the ball in a situation that you would expect any striker in and around the box to go for!!
fuck in hell , ive heard people on here telling the lad to calm down , thats one thing yes , but calling him " exhuberent " for trying to get a shot in on goal just inside the box is plain stupid ,
i havent seen anybody in the league play John Terry like he did ,
vaughan is class ... his pace and energy r unique, his drive lifts the team... cmon vaughany get fit n bang em in
Paul Gladwell:
Severed artery, he got kicked in the leg/shin against Bolton. Anyone would have went for the ball with Meite, if he didn’t and shit out I wouldn’t have been dissapointed. That injury had nothing to do with him going in hard, he simply went for the ball.
His knee injury was done whilst he was running in training. It wasn’t in a match so you can’t say he was going in hard nor was it his fault. He pulled up running if I remember correctly.
His shoulder injury was a complete accident and could have happened to anyone. It wasn’t his or the defenders fault. He simply jumped up for a header and his arm/shoulder twisted to far back. Again not his fault.
People have blamed his injuries on his style of play, that’s not the case at all. The lad is either having an unlucky period in his career or he’s injury prone. None of his major injuries have yet to be caused by his agressive style of play anyway. If there has please tell me.
James Vaughan will not change is style of play and good on him. He’s an old fashoned centre forward and if you took anything away from him he’d be half the player. With games and experience he’d time his tackles better and learn to control his agression like Rooney for example or a young Tim Cahill.
The lad is a winner, he’s an excellent prospect and I have no doubts he’ll be a great Everton centre forward.
Connor fair enough with what you say, it is your opinion and I actually do think he has a bit of class about him and would be awesome given a long run in the side, but it is only my opinion on a few occasions he does go in in a way that is something of yesteryear and he should tone it a little because it will cost him and us and looks like it will this saturday and as I said he could end up waiting a while for another chance, although as you say he will learn hopefully to control his aggression and tackle better with experience so is that not changing his style anyway? this is what I was trying to say, no one wants him to turn into a wimp, just to stop jumping into people like a madman and that is what Stubbs basically told him last season and I am sure he was told last week, otherwise referees will be onto him and he wil be a marked man like Fergie was.
