All in all, a good summer.

Some will say I have a perverse sense of well-being but, all in all, I feel it has been a good summer for Everton fans. Now at a time when forums and phone-ins are so full of woe, why should I be different to most of my fellow Bluenoses? But just for a moment focus on the positives:-
1. The dreadful DK was `called in` by the Government making it a virtual certainty that we will never have to de-camp to that god-forsaken hole.
2. The obnoxious and much hated Wyness was removed from office ? surely a cause for unmitigated joy all round.
3. David Moyes, who even Prentice of the Echo says never tells a lie, assured us that `he was going nowhere` and vowed to sign an extension to his contract just as soon as one or two minor details could be sorted out.
4. The club`s acting CEO positively stated that there is NO cash crisis at Goodison and that substantial monies are available for signings.
5. Even `The Sun`? in a piece headlined to be alarmist ? stresses that UP TO £30M is there for Davey to spend.
6. The sudden emergence of an amazingly bright crop of youngsters who will underpin our continued progress on all fronts.
So that`s no less than half a dozen reasons to be joyful! Of course we are all disappointed that the ranks won't have been swollen in time for Saturday`s kick-off but Moyes is after real quality this time and refuses to compromise to get an easy headline.
So count your blessings, my fellow Evertonians and get ready to hail the most exciting fortnight of signings any of us have known.
As I said,`All in all,a good summer!`

I’d like to think I’m an eternal optimist but you’ve taken the cake!! I’m off to down a bottle of bourbon to take the edge off and hope to wake up to Moutinho, Riquelme, Messi and Love being introduced to the fans tomorrow morning.
JUST SAY NO!
But, if the lack of transfer activity is solely down to Moyes biding his time waiting for the right players, then he obviously has faith in the the youngsters to at least temporarily plug the gaping holes in the squad. If they are truly good enough, then by all means let’s give them a chance.
With an untried youngster, sure they can make mistakes, but they can also provide the unpredictable flair that makes football more exciting.
So from that point of view I would much rather see a promising home-grown youngster given an opportunity than see us fill the squad up with average experienced "has-beens".
Time will tell.....
Please Everton....prove me wrong!
I hope they catch you soon as apparently all the other patients on the phyciatric ward are missing your sense of humour.
But in all seriousness, we are in a limbo area between breaking into the Sky 4 castle and milling about outside the walls scrapping for a UEFA spot. We simply don’t have the resources currently for a sustained assault on a Top 4 spot. I think the worst course of action would be buying one or two players at the way over the odds prices we are seeing now (20 million for Keane?) and still not having an adequate squad depth for the campaign.
To put the best shine on our present circumstances, we are now undermanned, but do not have anyone under huge wages. So, at the very least, we have slowed our slde into into debt. This of course reveals a lack of ambition, but we are in no danger of relegation this term. I think a UEFA spot is a big ask, however, and we also sacrifice 1/2 million in prize money for each position we silde down the Premiership.
Things are obviously in flux at EFC at the moment, so some prudent purchases at the lower end of the market/lower divisions may be in order to consolidate matters until things shake out at the club. At this point, some warm bodies, please.
Lovely to see positivity at this time. You strike me as a real fan who's been through the dark days and see this as better time for blues with good manager and good youth policy.... I will be singing with you on Saturday.... leave the moaners to gripe in their beer.
I guess I’ve been letting the lack of progress in both the transfer market and on Moysie’s contract get me down but if anyone can turn things round it’s David Moyes.
The summer of 2004 was a disaster by all accounts and we ended up finishing fourth. I guess their may be light at the end of the tunnel after all.
Lets be honest it just wouldn’t be Everton if everything went according to plan
Yeah, great summer.
Good summer; you must be jokin?.

5 players out - and the squad wasn?t big enough last year..!!!!!!!!!
Stadium plans fall through - AGAIN

With the exception of the first so called bit of good news, you do make some sobering and fair points. But I am still worried!!
