I am fuming

Comments (30)

I have had it with Everton now, the club is completely incompetent from top to bottom.

I have had a season ticket for 3 years and I renewed this time around a little late as I changed jobs around the time the renewals were initially taking place and I didn't have the money to spend at the time.

So, instead I keep checking if my seat is still available by speaking to the box office and latterly on the internet. 6 weeks ago I renewed and had luckily (or so I thought) managed to get my old seat; this was confirmed, the transaction was confirmed and I have the bank statement to show. However, I hadn't received my season ticket yesterday so I spoke with the club and they said that I hadn't been allocated a season ticket - although I had given my money to them!!!

Low and behold, my seat has now gone and I am about to be stuck with an obstrcuted view, if I renew. The club has said that they won't move the new person in my seat (I imagine he will be going to the game on his own as I have an aisle seat) and all they have done is offer me a refund or a new seat.

Frustrating to say the least when I have been going to the game on my own for 3 years and have made good friends with them around me! Cheers Everton, look after your fans why don't you!

Unlucky there James...given you have the bank statement as proof of payment in time for your old seat I suspect they’ll sort you out if you push. That said, it is unlucky on the blue who purchased ’your seat’ in good faith. If you take up the new seat you’ll probably just make new friends anyway and have just a great a time, especially with success which should be just around the corner this year...Even the obstructed view is probably minor and all adds to the authenticity of our great old ground!

From experience, a bank statement counts for nohing in disputes with EFC.

They have the right to withdraw ticket at any time or do what ever they want.

It was the same with the women’s Everton pink shirts sold for breast cancer. I paid over my cash, was told I had definitely got one and it had been despatched. Two days later I was told "sorry they are all sold out but don’t worry, we have an order in for some more - watch the website"...I am still watching - that was January its now August and they have still got the old message on there from January.... I tell you, guys, they couldn’t organise a p... up in a brewery!!

Judging by the terrible pre season we’ve had and the subsequent pessimism regarding the new season an obstructed view may prove to be a blessing!

In their defence, in my dealings over the years with the Box Office I have always found them helpful and a lot more efficient than other parts of the club.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky - or perhaps you were just unlucky.

I am with Steve, I have never had a problem with teh Box Office or my season ticket, however, it took one of my mates that moved address 3 seasons to get them to send it to the correct address after numerous e-mails and letters.

Like everything else at the club, stinks to high heaven...

Cant get it right for the supporters who pay the cash year in year out, what chance have we got of going forward?

I can just imagine someone getting that p!ssed of on Sat and pelting it onto the pitch to demonstrate causing further embarassment... ( If thats possible at the moment )

This does not surprise me in the slightest. I paid for my season ticket 2 years ago over the phone and was told that the card did not go through first time, so they had to take details again in that phone call. I asked them to make sure that the initial transaction had not gone through and they assured me it had not. My Visa statement later that month showed I had paid TWICE. It took me at least 15 emails and several phone calls to get this rectified, and not ONCE did I even receive a semblance of an apology. In fact, I was almost made to feel like it was my problem! I did write to the club on principle and two years later I am still awaiting a reply. Oh, I did address it to a certain Mr Wyness. Anything think he might still reply?

james, you say your pissed off?Listen to this m8. I USED to go the game since 1989 with my dad after winning a pair of season tickets. We had front row main stand seats and they were mint, great view and met loads of people round us...it was great! Now, after forking out every year since (16 years) through utter shite football, shite weather and shite everything we were then told 3 summers ago that our seats were to be made corporate seats at 5 grand a season after our brief Champs league showing! So we obviously couldnt afford that.We got the letter half way through the summer from everton saying we didnt have our seats and with no warning! So by then all the other seats had been sold and any seats left were either in the corner of with a fucking big post in the way. Now, after 16 years of loyalty thats what you get.....2 fingers!!we’ve stopped going now and probably wont ever again.

I have had three season tickets in the Family Enclosure for many years now. When I came to renew this year I was told that I could not sit in my usual seat as my son is now 17, thanks for the warning. My neighbour, who comes to the match with us, renewed his seat next to mine and by the way he is 17 like my son.
I am now in the Park End as the alternatives where shite, again thanks for the warning.
Before some people jump to the incompetent bastards defence, remember the loyal fans stranded in John Lennon Airport a few years ago and I think some of the responses prove that we are rotten through to the core.

Mike,
leave the family enclosure to give other families with younger kids the chance ! Think of others, you and your family have had the years in there , ..do you get tired walking to another stand ????? There are more important things to worry about !!!!

Will people please raise the positivity levels...am I the only loyal fan on here !!!

Dave thanks for that. Read the original post mate and then read mine again.

I don?t mind the Park End although I dread the extra 100 metres that I have to walk with my family; do they do a park and ride from the Family Enclosure? I bet I will loose some weight this season; I may even be able to enter the 2012 Olympics!!

The point I was making was about the 17 year old issue and I do agree that at some point you have to move out. There are other posts on this site about other things to worry about but that is not what this one is about.

You ask people to raise positivity levels and call yourself the only loyal fan but you also suggest that there are more important things to worry about. Dave we are all loyal fans who are concerned about our great club, we have different opinions and different needs.

Enlighten us Dave and thanks for calling me Mike that was very civil of you.

Why the hell are you contributing on this thread then? Because I was raising the point about an issue with my season ticket.

Roobbie?s message was spot on about getting behind the lads because that I will. If you mean about the job, I have a fine job that pays very well thank you very much, how else could one afford three season tickets year on year.

I remember how needed I was in Italy, Norway and Germany last season so if you don?t like the comments then don?t post your views. Look, whatever we all think we will still be there when it matters, but do you honestly believe that everything is alright at Everton because if you do then share some of them mind altering drugs with us please.

Matt Silk,
my point is very simple....stop complaining, accept our position and get behind the players on the pitch. Its too late to be moaning about season tickets when we play in less than 48 hours...does it really matter now. Be the fan you say you are and cheer....let the transfer talk and boardroom issues to one side...

Matt is on the other thread mate

My point is very simple??I am responding to a post by James Cadwaladr about season tickets. Why don?t you start a post and get people to stick to the same subject that you started with.

As I have mentioned, I will be there and I will cheer because I love Everton but it doesn?t remove the fact that I am pissed off about what?s going on. I and thousands like me are pissed off by the way the club is being ran and we come on this site to vent our anger and frustrations, you will never change that. You seem resigned to the fact that everything is fine and that?s your opinion but don?t have a go at the LOYAL FANS who care about what?s going on. If you bought an expensive watch that didn?t work would you complain about it or just think that it looks nice on your wrist.

You seem like an easy chap to please and I wish I shared your optimism.

Wake up Davey boy, oh nearly forgot COYB

JAMES:

I believe I am 100% correct, I?d contact the box office by recorded mail with the following.

When you paid them, you paid them for your seat. Therefore a contract for sale and purchase was created between James Whateveruresurnameis and Everton Football Club co. Ltd.

Therefore, if Everton do not provide you the seat they are in breech of the contract for sale.

They have offered you a refund, but if you really really wanted to you could go to a local court and file a law suit for specific performance of contract and they would have to give you your seat. While this is obviously too much hassel just mention to them that infact they are obligated by law to forfill there agreement with you.

Its tough shit on whoever got your seat - thats there problem not yours.

I went on spec today to look at season tickets for my wife and daughter - I am already in the family enclosure with our two lads and the box office were very helpful identifying seats .
However the only umobstructed views were in the main stand and it would cost an extra grand to move us all up there, but it just goes to show how loyal the fans are buying their season tickets. Its also clear that the groaund has many more seats available they could sell if they werent obstructed - they were shite and I would hate to sit there all season.
Interestingly enough the new scoreboards were being installed (rather late - bet they dont work) and there is now tarmac down the sides instead of the gravel.
Saw Robert Ellstone there as well who gave us a big smile - not like that arrogant bastard Wyeness. Should have asked hom for the latest news !

I just thought I would if anyone else has had problems with the season tickets this summer. I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I renewed in April and still have not receved tickets. The box office haven’t replied to my emails yet my account on etickets show I have ordered and paid for them. Most other companies do not take payment for goods until they have been dispatched. I have been a season ticket holder for over 20 years and have never had this trouble before.

Suggestion
for those who live locally, go to the ground in person, if poss
I’ve spent years complaining about the service at the box office, even submitted an article myself last year, I honestly believed the phones were undermanned, even unmanned at times and my emails were never answered
I decided to go up to the ground, what a surprise, the Girls and the Lads, are terrific, they couldnt do enough for me
The staff dont create the shit system, they just have to work with it, so if your lucky enough to live local, I strongly recommend you sort your problem face to face

James
I notice you live in Chester, If you can, try to get to the ground a few hours earlier on Saturday, I’m sure you’ll find the guys helpful, I sometimes have to get tickets at short notice for visiting family and I really wouldnt do it any other way now
