UEFA Cup Seeding

There was the possibility of us being 9th seeds or at worst 24th seeds for this year's UEFA Cup.

With Rangers getting knocked out, we became at worst 23rd. As expected the two teams seeded above us who were in the Intertoto both are through to the UEFA Cup 2nd round being played tonight.

But of the 12 teams ranked above us who are in the Champions League Qualifying, 10 of them are in a good position to go through (won or drew away) and only Olympiakos (lost 3-0 in Cyprus) and Schalke (1-0 at home to Atletico Madrid) are possibly going to end up in the UEFA cup.

So there is every possibility we could be 13th seeds and in pot 2 for the draw.

That is if we have enough players… (just for the doom mongers who perhaps will struggle with a future-is-bright post!)

As Tony says unless we get the luck of the RS expect a very quick crash and burn on all fronts especially the UEFA Cup. We dont have enough players to complete the EPL never mind anything else.

Its quite difficult NOT to get past the group stages in the UEFA Cup. What we need to do is peak in the knock-out stage, not the group stage like we did last year.

Is it just me or hasn’t anyone else noticed we have signed no one., let good players go and our squad is absolute shite.

There wont be a Uefa cup run..... we are going out. Simple as.

Gavin, Ben,

I have a suggestion, why not bother entering any of the competitions because we are definitely going out, right? As Ben says, simple as. Must be true then.

I know, (I’m feeling clever!) why not have a good go in all of the competitions and see what happens? Us fans (who support our team through thick and thin) could go to the matches and cheer the boys on. Maybe (as we have some decent players, good young kids and hopefully have a few players on the way - though don’t hold your breath ha, ha!) we might do okay. You know, hang about the top 8, get through to the group stages of the UEFA Cup, see what happens. I think we’ll at the very least make the knock out stages of the UEFA Cup.

One more idea, I heard the players needing lifting, can you guys do the team talk on Saturday?? They’d think they were off to a fucking funeral if you gave it!

I’m as pissed off as the next man, but let’s just see what happens. I’m looking forward to the match (though a tad worried about players, etc.), can’t wait to walk up the steps and see the inside of GP, cheer the boys on. COYB.

Damian,

Tell ya what lad, you do the team talk in your little chear leader outfit and give the lads a real lift.

While your at it, explain the thousands of protests that will no doubt be going on and explain why we are selling but no buying and our manager is still dilly dallying over his deal.

I was in dream land last season, couldnt wait for this season and parted with my money to renew, and then this shit happens so if I wanna be pissed of about it, I FUCKING WILL!!!!!

If you wanna stay deluded then sound, you do that but will I fuck!

Calm down Ben you’re ranting isnt doing anyone any good. No shit has happened yet - in fact nothing has happened yet. Post Saturday is the time to voice your protest.
