Moyes may get his dream?

Let me start by saying I am blue through and through, here's the BUT. I am fed up with transfer windows, we are constantly let down by incompetence and downright basic lies and I am at the end of my tether.
I have to ask myself why Aston Villa can sign a player in less than a day, why can Tottenham, Man City, Ipswich, Colchester also manage this magic feat?
When Everton cannot sign a player in a whole transfer window? Is it the Chairman? Not sure but we need to know if there is no money, where the hell has it gone! Is it the club? Don?t think so as we can offer Uefa Cup football, Premier League football and 30000+ every game...
Is it the manager? I think it is, we always fanny about, dither and make pathetic offers for players. Mr Moyes has made some really good signings Lescott, Cahill and Arteta. I think we have made ourselves look the laughing stock of the whole football world, how can a team who had the season we did last season implode like we have? How have we got the smallest squad around? We are lacking all over the pitch, backup goalkeeper needed as I don?t think Ruddy or Turner are up to it.
Defence is OK but we need backup, Midfield is a shocker, injuries and no holding midfielder is a real problem, and attack, well where do you start, we need a Johnson replacement ASAP as I don?t think Vaughan and Anchiebe are up to it, too injury prone and not able to complete whole matches. If I can see all this trouble ahead why can you not Moyes?
I have to say that if he does not sign his contract by the end of August and we have not signed at least 5-6 really good players, not last minute panic buys, then I think Moyes is leaving, he is going to run his contract out and either go to Celtic or Rangers next season. I hope I am wrong but that is my prediction based on Strachan and Smith positions at the moment.

A return to Scotland for Moyes as Rangers manager can be hastily ruled out.
The suggestion is testament to your basic knowledge. Do you honestly think the current level of turmoil / panic in the blue half of Glasgow could possibly be calmed by the managerial appointment of a former Celtic player ?
I like many others have over the last 3 months have become totally subdued with the shenanigans that have gone on at our beloved blues. I think the time has come for Messer?s Kenwright and Moyes to come out together and tell us the fans how it is. We may not like what we hear, but I feel they have a duty as the 2 major custodians of our club at the present time, to at least lay it on the line at where we stand.
I?ve been going to the match since I was a five year old lad with my dad and granddad. That was nearly 40 years ago, and in all that time, and I?m sure there are plenty out there who will agree with me, I?ve seen some pretty bad times (as well as a few joyous ones). But I can honestly say I do not think I have ever witnessed such a pathetic 3 months as has happened since the end of last season.
Let?s look at the facts;
- January ? McFadden leaves for £6 million (Good business most of us thought, adds money to Moyes? transfer funds in the summer), Alan Stubbs goes to Derby (Good business to get the wage off the monthly bills), replaced by a Spurs crock who never played a game and who goes back to Spurs at the end of the season. Fernandes comes in on loan.
- Everton finish 5th in the Premier League and during a 2 month spell in November and December play some of the most entertaining football witnessed at Goodison for many years.
- Everyone is reasonably happy and believe this is the best chance of us making a sustained challenge on the Sky 3 and the Norwegian shower across the park. Money we are told is available for Mr Moyes.
- It?s at this point that I did some basic maths... Hmmm, £12 million still available from the Fernandes deal that never happened last pre season, £6 million from McFadden going to Birmingham, additional Money from finishing 5th from Sky (say £5 million).
- Some good young kids coming through (Anichebe, Vaughan, Rodwell)
- Total of £23 million for Mr Moyes to spend.
Now we enter the period were things go pear shaped.
Moyes still hasn?t signed a new contract, although we are told he will ?. Why !!
Lee Carsley leaves because Birmingham offer him a 2 year contract. Would it have not been prudent to give him the 2 year contract, and keep as a squad player at a cost of say £25K a week, whilst we look for a younger stronger player. We didn?t though ? Why !!
AJ is sold for £10.5 million to a club that will more than likely be at the lower end of the league, without Everton having a replacement already sorted ? Why !!
Gravesen, Fernandes, Wessels, and Gardner all go back to their respective owners.
Taking Gardner out of the equation, 7 players have left with say a weekly wage total for them all of say £250k a week.
Lets say a total of £2M saved on wages, add that to AJ transfer fee = £12.5M.
New Total of £35M for Mr Moyes possibly to spend - Great, we think, now we can really put a creditable, sustained challenge to the Sky 3.
Without touching on Kirkby & Wyness, all I and many, many others want to know is why we are in this mess 2 days before the new season .. . Why !!
We deserve better, those who could afford it forked out our season ticket money in April, May when they asked us.
They tell us we are the People?s club, but yet they don?t tell us anything ? Why !!
We all thought we could move forward as a club, but we can?t ? Why !!
Mr Kenwright, Mr Moyes, you should come out together and tell us the truth, we deserve better than this ?.. But then again do we the supporters and real custodians of this once great club really matter !!!!
Just tell us ? why !!
A Few Questions. 1. I'm in utter shock......what has happened to our mighty EFC? 2. Why sell AJ with no replacement? 3. DM. not signed ??? 4. 5th Last season?...Prize Money, gone where? 5. What next?
From a very loyal MS4 fan
KEIOC my arse...
How then did the club say DK wasn’t linked to player funds? Come on you can’t have it both ways you believe the club or you don’t?
1. why do several people begin their comments by saying ’their a true blue’ or ’IMWT’ - this isn’t necessary as a justification - have belief in your own comments even if you are critical of the club.
2. Michael Kenrick, thank you for your comments, but it is clear that fans of EFC are getting angry and disillusioned about the state of the club - surely something you yourself have expressed frequently enough! Don’t throw your toys out of your pram, it’s not becoming!! And some football would be good...but what sort....no don’t go there :0)
Just commenting on your estimate of £35m. You are including all of the income from last year but none of the costs.
We sold Mcfadden for £5.5m, but there was a sell on fee to Motherwell. There are also loyalty payments made to all players that don’t ask for transfers. Same with AJ.
We have offered new contracts to Cahill, Arteta, Osman, Lescott in the last year. In addition, we had Baines, Jags and Yakubu added to the wage bill. You include the likes of Johnson, Gravesen etc as money into the transfer kitty as wages saved, but you don’t include any additions’ wages as money out.
The truth is, Everton don’t make huge amounts of money. We broke even as a fooball club in 06/07, and our wage bill went way up last year. You wouldn’t expect Everton to have £35m to spend, simply because the money has to come from somewhere and we don’t have a sugar daddy.
Look back at the squad Everton had 3 years ago. Would you prefer to have that squad (even with it’s bigger numbers)? Would you swap Yakubu, Pienaar and Lescott for Beattie, Kilbane and Weir?
are you now as pissed off as i am with all the CRAP on here.
i know i went overboard with my rant the other day but i was right, wasn’t i?
too many muppets
steve
p.s. two and a half hours to go til live on sky here (1.45am nz time) and i can’t think, eat, sleep etc. CMON U BLUES!!!!!!!
My dad works with James Vaughan’s mom. He was told midweek by the physio that he would not be playing today, not because he isn’t fit though, as he is. Moyes simply hasn’t spoken to him since being sent off in USA. Not a word.. didn’t even tell him he would not be playing. He is now looking to go out on loan I think, with talk of him being sent on loan to Blackburn. How can this even be considered? Apparantly it was a similar story with AJ. Last game of the season, brought all his family up from London to watch the game and then never even got a look in. That was the final straw from him from what I’ve been told.
I’m a big fan of Moyes, but his man management skills leave a lot to be desired. Giving someone the silent treatment for over 2 weeks smacks of being childish to me.
Now, with Osman being a doubt he may well have a change of heart, but considering the state we are in, leaving out a fit striker with premiership experience for no other reason than making a point seems ridiculous

I will be SO GLAD that we actually have some real football to talk about in a few hours... Will that be enough to stop this continuous flood of letters from everyone and their mother droning on about all the same predictable stuff... They seem to come from new names and it must be people who don't really read the the rest of the site and the myriad of previous mailbag items or they would know IT HAS ALL BEEN SAID BEFORE!!!!
