Childish Games

Comments (10)

My dad works with James Vaughan's mom. He was told midweek by the physio that he would not be playing today, not because he isn't fit though, as he is. Moyes simply hasn't spoken to him since being sent off in USA. Not a word.. didn't even tell him he would not be playing. He is now looking to go out on loan I think, with talk of him being sent on loan to Blackburn.

Apparantly it was a similar story with AJ. Last game of the season, brought all his family up from London to watch the game and then never even got a look in. That was the final straw from him from what I've been told.

I'm a big fan of Moyes, but his man management skills leave a lot to be desired. Giving someone the silent treatment for over 2 weeks smacks of being childish to me. Now, with Osman being a doubt he may well have a change of heart, but considering the state we are in, leaving out a fit striker with premiership experience for no other reason than making a point seems ridiculous.

I seem to remember Li Tie getting the same treatment after he was shown a red card. Even when we were short of players he refused to play him.

I hope that story is not true.I’d dearly love a fit Vaughan get a run in the side. I think he has massive potential if only he could stay freeof injury.

Unfortunately it is 100% true. he seems to get rough treatment from Moyes. Last season, 2nd half against reading he changed the game, then wasn’t even included in the next game. If we’re not careful he will be off as its starting to get him down now. Nice lad too, all he wants to do is get his chance

I’d take this bit of gossip with a pinch of salt!
I’m sure Moyes is livid over that tackle of Vaughn and Moyes is the manager.....he might be limited in who he can pick right now but the final decision is his, not Vaughn’s mum!
Like any mum would - she’d stick up for her son (can’t blame her for that) but to make Moyes out to be petty like this is not what we need right now.

To be honest I normally defend Moyes, however on this occasion I think he has got things wrong. Too stubborn for his own good... a bit like this summer and signings really. No point cutting off your nose to spite your face just because you can’t have your no 1 targets.

"James hasn’t played any competitive football for months. He has done a bit of training, but he got a kick on his foot in Chicago and hasn’t done any full training in two-and-a-half weeks. He’s short of football fitness, not necessarily physical fitness."

I find it hard to believe that a manager can spend four 3-hour training sessions with someone and not speak a single word to a player.

Don’t worry, I work with Vaughny’s dad and he’s just confirmed that this story is a load of bollocks.
