Having read Stephane M'Bia's reasons for wanting to join Everton, quite frankly, I don't want him, even in a Summer as bad as this one.

We lose Lee Carsley who, despite some people's misgivings about his overall playing abilities, sweated blood for our club and was one of the most honest, consistant and effective performers over the last couple of seasons. Surely it would not have taken too much of those 10m euros to convince Carsley to stay until we could find, or produce our own, long-term replacement.

Whilst David Moyes avoids signing his contract, how on earth does he expect to convince anybody of the quality he seeks to join him?

I have been a major supporter of David Moyes through thick and thin over his six year reign but right now, as difficult as it would be, I would just like to tell him to sign or go so we can get on with the job in hand. As much as I admire and respect the job Davey has done, ultimately it is Everton I care about and nothing positive can come from him delaying.

And what must Steve Round be thinking? He must have asked David Moyes about his future before agreeing to join so if Moyes has already told him he's going nowhere, what is stopping him putting pen to paper?

Get signed now Davey, bring in the reinforcements or our paper thin squad will never survive four tournaments over the coming nine months..... or is it already too late?

The lad was just being honest. Oh that more were like him instead of the phoney badge kissing and claims of "Once a Blue etc etc....

If everyone accpets that footy?s a business not a sport anymore why should we not be willing to accept that people will or will not choose a club dependant on the deal on the table.

I bet you?d change your mind after the first time he "fairly" put that cheatin twat Gerrard up in the air with a crunching tackle...

The days of "I'd play for Everton" for nothing are long gone apart from maybe a local lad who?s supported them all his life......hmmm now that rings a bell !

I’m as frustrated as anyone but it is too early for this type of post. If we don’t sign anyone by 2nd September and not getting results once we have all our injured players back, that will be ’put up or shut up time’. If we were to give Moyes this dilemma now and he resigned, we would be worse off for it. Let’s get some stability back, hopefully get a player or 2 in this week, get some players back from injury and hopefully Davey will sign an extension.
But lessons must be learnt from what has been an awful pre-season...

The Rennes player Stephane M’bia, back from his Olympic exploits with Cameroon, insists "I haven’t changed my mind, I want to join Everton. We are still in contact. I hope now that Rennes will accept to enter into negotiations with this English club." Now that sounds very promising....

It may be lost in translation but when I read "this English club" I wonder how many others he has been in contact with. For me nothing less than "Everton" would suffice.

I still think needs to add Delron Buckley to the current squad.

The guys had a excellent trail at Hull city, ad they could afford the player.

I sort of agree to some of the sentiments of this post. If your a player surely you want to know that the manager who signs you is committed to the club for the foreseeable future and not in a contract dispute?
Of course it would make you think twice. As for putting the priority of getting players over and above your contract, Davey, just do it.
To the club, pay the man what he deserves, because he is worth every damm penny.

First of all the Tiago scenario... Did it really take a week of negotiations and a whole week for everyone at Everton Football Club to realise that Tiago did not want to come here? I mean is there nobody at our club who does transfer dealings with half a brain???

Another week wasted just like when we were led down the garden path by one, yes ONE agent over Vagner Love. It really is beggars belief that other clubs can sign two players in one day and manage to strengthen the size of their squads considerably but at Everton its like navigating a trip to Mars completing a signing.

If I can state my honest opinion now its that it is definetly a bit of both Moyes and Kenwright who is to blame for thie situation we are in. Kenwright because he should never in the first place have taken over the club because he was not big enough business terms to manage it and also he has failed dismally in his quest to find financial muscle.

But Moyes must take the blame for every season we start we have a small squad and he is notorious about how prudent he is in transfer dealings, even Nigel Martyn all but said it in Tuesday's Echo column. Moyes knows we dont have the money to be chasing the big big players yet he continues to get supporters hopes up by going after these players and the club derogorise the club where the player is (Lisbon in the case) by making embarrassingly lower than the asking price bids. Would we like it if someone came in with a bid £7 million less for a player? Would we have sold Johnson for £5 million? No. They are making the supporters look stupid for falling for it and right now we are stupod because every time we read about a player linked we believe it in hope rather than expectancy.

This has been a shambolic summer for Everton in every way shape and form and with only one full week left in the transfer window we have more or les run out of time to bring players in. If that window closes and nobody comes in then the manager and board have done their best to set us up with a relegation battle and I hope they are so proud of that..

Spot on Tony,,,,Tiago was never gonna sign in a million years. The longer the week went on you could see it was never going to happen, we couldnt do a deal in a red light area!

George,
David Moyes managing Man Utd after Christmas? Be serious.
It’s stay at Everton or take a massive demotion for Moyes. Tell me a bigger club than Everton who would want him as manager?

90% of footballers are in it for the money and dont care who they play for, They may kiss the badge or pump the fists to the fans and we’ll lap it up. However, once they receive a better offer from a more ambitious club they will be off. So i dont blame for M’bia least he is honest. How many of our current team would stay if a top 4 side offered to double there wages ?
