It's a Joke

Right, thats it. I've been quiet all summer and now its time to have a moan.

I assume everyone like me, has been relentlessly checking all the relevant websites everyday since the transfer window opened, only to find that Sunderland (a team we murdered 7-1) are showing more ambition than us. I don't care what amyone says, Malbranque, even Diouf, would add some value to our squad. Its got past the point where we should not be thinking about adding the quality and the "right" transfer targets. WE NEED MORE PLAYERS! Even if that is just "squad players". And don't give me that crap about no money. They boardwon't putl their balls on the line. Happy to lead us into a mediocre season, withouth a care in the world.

Believe you me, if anyone thinks we are going to achieve anything more than mid-table mediocrity you are severely deluded.

I am a positive fan. One that enters every game with the view we can gain three points, whoever we are playing. But now I've tipped over the edge. I'm soooo frustrated. If I'm this frustrated, how frustrated must the manager be? Why would you sign a new contract if you knew you didn't have the resources or backing to do the job. Its a JOKE.

West Brom, first home game of the season for a newly promoted side. Haven't won there in god knows how many years, is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?

Feel free to destroy my negative outlook...

There is a clear reality to be acknowledged whether we like it or not.

Everton are not a club that players of any class wish to come to.

Why ?

It is a combination of:

  • lack of money , with none on horizon,
  • a frankly unexciting team (as has been for years despite progress in points),
  • very little chance of progress beyond a Eufa cup ( a cup that 24000 or so teams qualify for each year,
  • a very British manager with no playing reputation (such as Roy Keane ),
  • a naff stadium,
  • high profile neighbours,
  • no profile abroad,
  • fed up supporters who are realising the reality of modern football
  • the fact that anyone who comes here will probably end up pilloried by the same fans
  • the gloom of Merseyside in comparison to Spain, Italy, Portugal, anywhere

Now if someone can find me a reason for optimism I will be very grateful.

I've constantly read the persistent negativity of our fan's comments over the summer period and even contributed. I would even say ... rightly so. The club is in crisis thats obvious, however, all our moaning, groaning, blaming, finger pointing constant barracking is going to get us .... well ... nowhere.

Yes, it may help you get it off your chest, it may help you feel better about yourself .... but will it help Everton FC..... a resounding no.

The issues we have, we as fans have no control over, we cant force Bill to sell up, we cant attract buyers ourselves, we cant sign players, we cant make Davey sign his contract. The only thing we can do is continually support the blues and that means whoever is playing.

My point is lets stop the talk about protests etc... etc.. how would that exactly help... ( I'm sure an investor would look very kindly at a club where the supporters have turned against the club and the team ... I don't think so) Instead lets get fully behind the team as I know the majority of the fans do and ride this latest chapter of Everton FC's history through.

Negativity is like a mexican wave it catches you up and pushes through to the next person and the next and so on and on, as the title says, even I'm guilty !!

Well, me for one, the negativity stops now !!! Yes i will continue to look at the websites, sky sport's, the echo for any transfer news, but I'm not going to let the situation get to me any longer. Instead I'm going to positively support whoever puts on that blue shirt. I hope everyone else does as well.

Yes its that time already game no. 2 in the league. Not only do David Moyes and Steve Round need to get behind the players , the Everton faithful need to aswell.

Can we all stop the bickering and get behind the players who are fit and in the squad albeit a very small squad and show some belief in the players we have available.

COME ON EVERTON MAKE US PROUD with a nice away win to please club and supporters at the baggie bag heads...

Don’t worry Chris your not alone I’ve even heard a rumour that Tony Marsh is a little "ticked off" with whole thing. Who’d have thought that eh.

I would imagine that Tony Marsh has every right to be "Ticked off". In my opinion the whole summer has been wasted.
There have been rumours about this player and that player and nothing has come of any of it.
Oh I nearly forgot we bid £11.8m for Moutinho. What a bloody joke ! Moutinho is worth far more than that in most peoples eyes. If the selling club are demanding £20m what is the point of bidding £11.8m ?
I am now in two minds as who is really to blame for this fiasco. Was it Moyes setting his targets too high without the proper financial backing ? Or was it Bullshit Billy and his now infamous "Watch this space" line that has made us a laughing stock.
Because that is EXACTLY where we are now a laughing stock. It pains me to say this.
I did not see the Sky interview but from that which I have heard/read Moyes appeared an almost broken man. If this is the case then I think he will be off. Although never one of his greatest fans I think this will be a shame as he clearly had high hopes of moving on this summer and all to no avail !

Why should we not show are disgust in the way things have gone I?m as positive as I can be were EFC is concerned but this off season has literally knocked any sense of optimism for future out of me ,and I think we as fans of this great club of ours need to let to let the custodians of the club are utter dismay at the way the club is being handled

All our vitriol should be directed at the men behind the scenes namely the blood brother bill and his cohorts ,personally I feel sorry for Moyes and his team they have and remain the only beacon of hope in floored organization . I just want to know the truth and I?m taking a wild guess here that everything hinged on the stadium issue I?m sure backers were waiting in the wings but now that looks like it?s a long way off and EFC involvement in the scheme may die and death ,it is heart breaking to watch all the progress that has been made stabilizing the club on the field to see it undone by mismanagement off it ,Dark days indeed

It’s becoming more and more obvious that that blue rinsed bastard Bullshitter Bill doesn’t give a toss beyond himself. I hope it all goes tits up for him, DM walks (wouldn’t blame him) and Bastard Bill has to virtually give the club away, although I have a sneaking suspicion the lying get would probably keep hold even with rigor mortis setting in.

Agent Kenshite, mission accomplished - you can piss off back to London and listen "with pride" to the RS anthem.

Expect no signings, expect Bullshitter to be unavailable through theatrical interests come the EGM and absolutely nothing happening of worth, the quicker Kenshite is toppled and sent off anywhere but here will be the only way the club can start again, it can’t get any lower as we are already at rock bottom.

So I went to the local sports goodies, hoping to buy the new white away kit and do my little bit as they say. Well, apparently, the two EFC kits (home and away) are display only (which were there last week, gone now), and they don’t have any in store. Maybe this is an Umbro thing but there were loads of West Ham, Sunderland etc. even Championship side Brum 2008/09 kits. No Everton. Why is it that whenever there’s a fuck up it’s Everton?

Ged Simpson, spot on, plus Champions League football already being an option and living/playing for a London club.

Everton are fucked.

You sad deluded idiot. Tell us all your secret and share some of your blind optimism with us.
You crack on and shout your support from the rooftops but don’t have a go at the people who are hurting right now.
Go and support a team in the conference beacuse I agree with only 1 of your points. Everton don’t deserve fans like us but I doubt I mean that in the same context as you.

Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, spare a thought for the youngsters on the brink of breaking into the first team. I believe we have a crop of very talented young players at Everton. Circumstances beyond their control are propelling them towards first team duty well before they expected and they must both excited and anxious at the prospect.

The last thing that they need is to be virtually written off because of their age before they have had a chance to show what they are capable of on the field. What kind of supporters behave in such a way? Even in good times, some young players are thrust into the first team at an early age and they thrive....Harvey, Royle, Labone, etc. Remember these kids have dreams and ambitions just like the star imports but they can be destroyed by the supporters as much as the opposition on the pitch.

I declare a preference for home-grown talent. Many imports are little better than mercenaries, touting their wares around the world for the highest bidders. What I am appealing for is that our fair-minded supporters give these young lads all the encouragement they can.....we might unearth some diamonds.

I have been a blue since 1964 and have endured all sorts of ups and downs over they years, however this summer has been the most inept display of how to run a football club in my living memory.

I just want to ask a few simple questions to anyone at the Club who read this website because so far nobody is telling us the truth on what the hell is going on.

So, can you tell me, what the hell is happening at the club that over the space of 3 months can turn the Club from an optimistic 5th place finish with lots of sound bites saying we will be buying big names to make that push into the top 4, to downright dejection with even the manager moaning.

Who is to blame? Did we have the funds or not? If we did who is to blame for not living up to your promises?

I am sick of the silence from the Club, everyone is sat back wringing their hands saying we've blown it... why? Bill, you are the one in charge of this once great club and you've turned it into a shambles.

More to the point, what are you going to do to sort it out, we don't want to end up like Leeds but the way things are going that is what you are achieving. To you, it's a business that you are not running properly, to us, it is our life and long after you shower have gone we will be left with the legacy of useless management.

I hold you totally to blame for this mess and it is up to you to get us out of it, now, before its too late.

i have been reading the rumour sections of papers on the net all summer, even other club websites, been pissing my boss off with the BBC rumour page. Every day we are linked with everybody, but do they sign? No. do we offer enough money, NO. are we moving, NO.

I am a season tickey holder in the Park End, I am cleaning my boots for the Portsmouth game as there is a chance I might get on! We finished last season, fantastic campaign and we should've built right away. I have heard and read the comments from DM that we had no money at the begining so where has the money gone? We are a proud well supported team, 5th best in the best league in the world, the ones to break the top 4! What the fuck is going on when we can't attract players who are struggling in lower standard leagues?

I have been a supporter of BK since he took over but Bill, now is the time to look at yourself ? you are without doubt a true blue but your pride is letting you down; let go. We have the owner of Planet Hollywood, where is your money? Where are your mates to invest?

I am reading today that DM is potentially looking at us struggling till January, 'taking a backward step'. This is not good enough. Villa have signed some players who would fit nicely ? Sunderland are attracting players. These clubs have nothing compared to what we can offer. We are in the European City of Culture!

We sell two key first teamers without replacements lined up! Everton owe it to us who suffer daily taunts from those knob heads accross the park, answer our questions, they're all on here, and please tell us what the fuck is going on.
