I have a source who said...

Funny how things work, for the last 3 months people on this site have quoted their 'sources' on the imminent arrival of Moutinho, M'Bia, Smith most often and a few other players less often. None of these transfers happened as the 'source' claimed....
- Everton apparently watched Jacobsen for 12-18 months. We then sign him.
- Everton sign Castillo.
- Everton 'set to sign' Obinna.
- Everton sign Zayette on trial and are impressed.
None of the 'sources' who have this inside info on the club told anyone about these players, the same last season with Pienaar and Yakubu. In fact, these sources only seem to reveal info that is placed in the Sun, Mirror etc.
Can people please stop all this shite about 'sources'.

I wish... But as this ridiculous Silly Season has demonstrated, it only gets worse and worse and worse. Would that we could wait patiently until the player is revealed by the club... Fat Chance!
This morning Everton sign a combative midfielder to play in the Carsley role.... later in the day City sign SWP for £9 million.... and just a few minutes ago Rennes reject an offer of £9 million for M?Bia??
Am I being too paranoid to think that all of these mystery bids are very cleverly planned in order that they will never be accepted? Surely if we filled the Carsley role this morning we could have bid £9 million for SWP instead of offering to loan him for a year?
Only when SWP was out of the picture does another phantom bid come out of the woodwork just like the £12 million we offered that was never, ever realistically going to prise Moutinho away from Sporting.
Much has been reported today that Henrik Larsson has recieved offers off 3 english clubs. Sky Sports mention during an interview with Jacobsen that Everton are interested in him.
36 years old and on a free transfer, imagine some people are sharpening their knives.
Much experience, proven track record and a model professional, others may be licking their lips.
Let the debate commence.

And the source who said that Wyness had resigned 12 hours before the club confirmed it? What about the source that was right about Andy Johnson’s medical throwing up a question mark for Fulham? And the source who said yesterday that a work permit had been lodged with the Home Office by Everton, two hours before Castillo’s signing was announced?
This summer has seen more Silly Season rumour nonsense than I ever thought possible but the fact remains that in amongst all that misinformation there are genuine sources with genuine information. And that’s what keeps people glued to the rumour pages and forums at times like these!
Wright-Phillips 80k a week thats why he signed for Shity!!! Signings at last but not what we expected eh!!!
Peter,
Yes, I think you’re being too paranoid. You don’t really think that Kenwright, Moyes & Co sit round a table thinking up ever more abstract ways to have bids rejected, do you ? Seriously ?
Apart from anything else, it’s the other clubs that are announcing that we made a bid, and not Everton. We haven’t made any public statement about any bid at all this summer. Not once. Kenwright admitted that Moutinho was a target, but didn’t say that any kind of bid had been made.
This ’phantom’ bid idea is a work of fantasy. Pure and simple. There is no evidence to prove otherwise.
I agree with Lyndon. And for the record, I check out TW and Bluekipper before I do the official site. But following the "captures" of a freeby Lars and a world renown ecuadorian midfielder, possibly followed by another african (therefore ineligble whenever Nigeria need him) I have to say I actually preferred it with no signings at all. At least that demonstated the clear issue with the club management. Now we smack of West Ham under Redknapp in the 90’s.
Considering we finished 5th last year and had a jolly good shot at the uefa, how can we justify this summers inactivity and ineptitude? Mr Kenwright stand up. Oh yeah, we only hear from you during the "good" times.

But i do have an inside source.
Please God I am soo excited now after Antonios post. I am still watching THIS space.
I think Moyesy is being shrewd (well i hope so!) in the transfer market at the minute trying to tie up loan deals and freebies because with him going in for players on loan you only pay a small fee for the season so if he brings in a few on loan the total fees wont effect his tranfer kitty that much and it gives him a fair bit off money to play with when it comes down to the very last couple of days of the transfer market because at this time of the transfer market and the deadline approaching quickly it starts to become a buyers market and clubs and agents around the world start taking the best possible deals available on the table for there players and thats why i think Moyesy is bringing in players on loan because there a cheap fee at first and plus they’ll boost numbers too but it leaves him with a decent kitty towards these last couple of days where with what he’s got he could go back in for Moutinho as its being reported on other sites he’s going to go back in with a much improved offer for him over the coming days and it reports that Sporting could be willing to do buisness at 18 million euros! going by reports with the deadline looming it looks like sporting are starting to lower there demands looking to possibly push a deal through, it was only the other month Ian Ross said we would go up to 20 million euros maximum for Moutinho and now it seems Sporting are willing to accept a touch lesser fee! maybe this one might happen after all, lets wait and see hey?!!
I know this is not the right thread but can anyone tell me were the People's Club forum has gone?
We have a TV programme here in Wales called "Sgorio", which shows highlights of most European league football. For a few years now I have raved to friends about Victor Obinna, the guy is talented. Think SWP only better. I do hope we get this guy, if only for a year on loan, that would do.
Has any one looked at Moutinho’s wikipedia recently? i just checked it out now and it has it on there that weve triggered his 25 euros release clause and that he’s due in sometime tomorrow or over the weekend to tie up the deal. now if thats true that weve triggered his release clause then Sporting cant turn that down now can they!!
Aide mate - anyone can edit wikipedia - don’t fall for it!!
Unfortunately wikipedia isn’t the first for international football news or to break an exclusive deal however much we want it to be true!!
How does wikipedia work. It has so much shit on its untrue. How does it work? Can i register and then add my own information? Does it work like that???? If it does im going to go on to Stevie G lar?s page and add that "he runs over kids in cars ?steve gerrard gerrard"
...........I am desperate for us to get Moutinho though. Talk about eggs in baskets!!! My whole summer is resting on this one!!! Come on Moyesie!! Get him in for us!!!
I am delighted with the signing of Castillo - I have a Colombian friend who says he is brilliant and much better than Zoltan Gera. Only problem is apparently he suffers with irritable bowel syndrome which means he has to leave the field for a dump every now and again. But I am sure Moyes has studied him and knows this well.
Why are we still only 4 days before the window closes still no signings?? (Purchases not loans). If we bid £12M for Riera then why ask for Wright-Phillips on loan knowing City had bid cash?
This is just a long line of Shite that?s coming from the club, for me Tony Marsh has been right all along.
All we need now is Neville saying on the OS that Victor coming back is like a new signing or Ossie won the Go Karting again!!!.
It would be nice for the club to be honest for once and say we ain't got a pot to piss in.
Anyone know if we signed Abbot?
He’d go well with Castello!
it also says ’only joking’.......about Moutinho.....
The actual wiki entry says "(Everton Fc) Everton Triggered Moutinho 25 Million euro release clause and he has signed a lucrative four year deal. But only Joking!"
I think the last phrase has a big hint in it!
SWP = £80k a week!! Even if we got him for nothing we couldn?t afford his wages!!.. And he really isn?t that good is he!!.. We aren?t buying the top players in the world so why pay millions up front if you can get loanees who will do a job and better the squad. Makes financial since don?t it..
Times is reporting that we have lodged a bid for James Milner. I cant see it happening though. Villa will offer better wages
Okay, thank you Andy. That?s enough of that Wikipedia nonsense. There must be another forum where you can discuss what is or is not ?fact? published on Wikipedia. Just not here, please.
And why are you now posting under a different name?
Sorry Michael. I use my nick name for most things so wasnt deliberate. By the way Michael can you check to see if Antonio who is allegedly from Portugal is actually in portugal whilst sending his post regarding Moutinho.
Cheers
Mick
I think we’ve all had irritable bowel syndrome this summer so he should fit in well.
Ok sceptics, I have just had some very exciting news from my cousin (he works as a rep and is at Faro airport), and he rarely contacts me for anything, but a couple of hours ago, Moutinho check in on Monarch Airlines flight ZB595. I live in London now so I can?t go check, but if anyone can get to the airport and find out it would be useful!
Oh and I?ve also heard from a colleague (I work for West Ham, hence the ?nosurname?) in Newcastle, that James Milner has agreed a four-year contract with us after an hour long phone call with Moyes! He is going for a medical at 11.30am, so i?m sure someone can go check the gates on that one too at some point?
Things are looking up boys!
Probably totally irrelevent but Stephane M’Bia didnt play for Rennes as they squeaked into the first round of the Uefa Cup with a 2-0 win at home (3-2 on agg), and would therefore not cup tied.
Even more irrelevent and less interesting, Bruno Cheryrou and Carlos Bocanegra (ex Fulham) also play for Rennes and they had a massive 11800 people turn up tonight.
James Milner.... I’ve spent all summer hoping and praying that we sign players... James Milner, there’s a signing to get the blood racing... Eh not! If thats true and Moyes has offered 10m for him then its official...get him in a straight jacket and I don’t mean Milner. Mind you King Kev thinks he’s a wonderful player, Duuur! I’ll be hoping and praying that we don’t get this one! We may have to lower our sights but we don’t have to pay 10m for the likes of him. When you think what we could have have had for 10m and let go. How on earth is he going to improve the team he no better that what we’ve got, I’d sooner play the kids.
Charlie Norton, I just picked myself off the floor laughing. Cheers for that in the middle of the tension and negativity. And just when I got settled back in my chair Mr. Nosurname sends me back down again.
Lee,
Is this a wind up ?
Because I?ve had it up to here (points to forehead) with wind ups.
I?ve even bloody well checked the flight arrivals at Manchester and that one arrived at 22:16pm tonight.
What have Ibecome!!??
John - you’re not alone mate.
I checked also
If he is on it he will be pleased as he landed 19 minutes ahead of schedule
I have to agree Steve, not one of my picks even, I coach better kids sometimes than him!
And no John, it’s not a wind-up, I cousin’s pretty young but he knows his players, unfortunately he’s a Man U fan but each to their own! And sorry I didn’t know it was arriving already, but if anyone did happen to see him, please let us know!!!!
I’d like to know where all the money has come from if we have just spent £35m on two players...
How the fuck did we end up in a situation like this? At the moment everyone has to admit the next four days are quite exciting. However, come Monday, the next four months and beyond may be very depressing. Honesty does need to come from within our club to the fans of the People's Club. If money has been there all along then Moyes?s management skills when it comes to transfer?s has to be questioned. If no money is there it is time for Billy boy to go.
Sorry for putting in words what we already know but the next four days will be big ones in the history of this club we all love.
Last rant - SWP up until Yesterday I?d have said yes. SWP on £80k a week, no fucking chance.
Lee is your surname really Fartknocker or what?
Sorry Lee but enough’s enough. The Faro reference is the giveaway - if he wants to get here sharpish isn’t he best off flying from Lisbon (where he lives...)
Why do so many people criticise our signings just cos they’ve never heard of them. Castillo for instance may be a fantastic player, I am prepared to back Davey’s judgement over anyone on here if you don’t mind.
As for Milner, well if you talk to most fans of the barcodes, they will tell you that he has been arguably their best player ove rthe last year or so and they don’t want him to go anywhere. Also he is young and english with plenty of potential for improvement. I would be quite happy if we signed him.
People need to trust the management team that the players they sign are good enough and wait for evidence on the pitch before questioning their ability.
I mean when we signed Yobo nobody had heard of him either and he turned out alright.
I would assume so... But I’m not him... Maybe there were no flights from Lisbon?
Maybe he likes to fly with cheap crappy airlines to save his new club some mula, and as a means of putting the Lisbon press off the scent of biggest signing in the history of EFC. Kenrights probably licking his balls as we speak in Manchester airport car park
Mick Wrende.
Thanks a million mate. I have only just stopped laughing. Signing a player with Irritable Bowel Syndrome who has to leave the match for a dump?!!!!
Pure class, a unique a post as you’ll ever get anywhere!
Lads,
Does anyone actually know if Faro is near Lisbon?? is it like John Lenon and Manchester in distance?? if a flight leaves from Faro before it does from Lisbon then ..............????
Time is of the essence and lefts face it, we?ve spent fuck all so far so there is a hell of a lot of money there from AJ and Faddy alone, that's without anything we already had, as confirmed by plenty of club officials over the past month.
I'd be happy with Jacobsen to oust Neville or at least push him, I?m happy with a defensive strong fast and energetic mid for carsley, in Castillo and I?ll be happy with the jet heeled Obinna for the wing all for fuck all providing all the money we do have goes on MOUTINHO!!!!! I?d be chuffed to get that little genius!!
Okay then. Tell you what, if I see him on the back of tomorrow’s echo I’ll phone you to congratulate you - if I ask for Mr Nosurname will the West Ham switchboard put me straight through?
Valid point William
Driving me nuts all this shit
Roll on Tuesday when its all done and dusted
Licking Moutinho?s balls? Talk about player power in the modern game. Knowing the blues, if he has by any miracle flown into Manchester it?ll be some other club who?ll get him. I think there?s one or two there with bags of cash, even after throwing £10m to Chelsea for SWP. I reckon we?ll get the lad from Inter for a year and that will be that. Maybe Beattie on a year loan to get him some match practice.
I meant Push Neville by the way, but it wouldn’t exactly piss me off if he gave him a dig either!!! haha
Faro to Lisbon 277km by car
Nice one dave!
So we are talking about 150 Miles? from here to Just past Birmingham?? an hour and a half drive?
Hmmmm... Possible then, and I just checked, I can’t find another flight from Lisbon to Northwest until Saturday, so it would make sense. Apparently he was wearing ripped jeans and a blazer type jacket and was with 2 other guys, so if you see that on the paper, yay!
And no William... Oddly you won’t... I only work for them part-time, but I quite like the job, hence why I’m not giving my name!
Anyway, like David said, roll on Tuesday, cheer on the new boys on Saturday and hope we have these signings...
277km ( 175 miles ) in an hour and a half.... 120mph all the way!!!
Piece of piss. Don’t believe the rumour. I’d love to, but it won’t happen!!
Skysports are saying Zagate is on his way to the barcodes as bullshit billy boy sat on his hands too long...
Lee,
Seriously now mate, are you pulling our pissers?
I sooooo wanna believe this and after the summer we have had, it would be bang out of order to take the piss and blag us,
After whats gone on this summer, I very nearly finsihed with this club but just couldnt bring myself to wash my hands of them all’s they seem to do is let me down.
I have watched every other twat and his dog sign quality this summer and we get fuck all but freebies so I know you catch my drift....
If this bollocks or a wind up for a red shite mate then now’s the time to say,
fuck me i’ve been through enough...... and the only way EFC can make it up to me is sign Moutinho, and twat pompey on Saturday.
You guys think you have it bad? I actually dreamt last week we had re-signed Simon Davies...... top that. I guess whoever we sign will have a few weeks to bed in as I think Marti Pellow?s England play next so perhaps it will give any new boys a chance to bed in. We just need to make sure we show up against Pompey first of all.
If these ?rumours? - and that is all they are, come off, I will eat my dusty old football boots.... I was considering bringing them out and taking them to Goodison, I mean I am only 35 and I manage to run 42 miles last month in a reasonable time so I may get a game down to just fitness.....
I will even post the pictures for all to see......
Men, we are losing it!!!
Chasing flight info from Portugal, desperate rumours, players with irritable bowl syndrome, punching Phil Neville, the chairman licking balls, endless people on the inside.....
They say the definition of madness is ’repeating the same behaviour over and over again and expecting a different result’....roll on the january transfer window, we’ll surely get Mountinho then...
or will it be Riquelme!!!
Its like an issue of Billy The Fish....
I have it on good authority weve signed Shakin’ Stevens and The Queen Mum....on loan....
Lads....get a grip!!! I’ve just nearly gone mental reading this shite. From Antonio who doesnt speako very well Englisho to nosurname, probably a Liverpool fan winding you all up. Why on earth would he be sacked from West Ham for passing on something someone else saw??? Think about it!
None the less IMIT and Moutinho will sign for Everton...not landing on a plane from Faro though!
Imagine in world where ToffeeWeb only published the truth, no rumours hearsay or basic shyte that people get off their chest. It would be a fucking boring site wouldn't it you dick, that's why people love rumours etc, its called excitment, livens the day up. Remember on the official site, headlines Osman goes Go Karting, Neville plays golf, Wyness eats another burger.... What do you think the majority prefer???
Some one’s really doing the rounds on Moutinho’s wikipedia now, i must be that desperate for some news on this lad that ive checked his wiki out again and now it is saying this - "Sources in lisbon have leaked to the local press that a fee has been agreed between Everton and lisbon, thought to be 20 million euros. Moutinho is said to be travelling to Merseyside in the "next 48 hours" to discuss personal terms". has somebody seen Lee Nosurname’s post and thought it would be a good idea to edit Moutinho’s wikipedia and put this on the back of his tip off?!
What ever happened to Fernandes......??? we should have signed him; we know he is good, used to our system of play, kick it long hope for the best. Rather £10mill for him than Milner......
I am personally glad we're signing players, even though if they are random players we have never heard of. But if we progress on buying more freebies and gradually filling problem areas (Castillo replacing Carsley), it gives me hope that we will spend all our money on Moutinho. It seems a bit more likely now. I know you lot will think I'm dreaming but you never know!
I?d like to believe Moutinho will be with us very soon, not because of Antonio who?s talking shite.
Listen lads,
I have heard that we are about to make a bid for a top Jamaican international!!!
I got the info from my mate Levi Roots, a very reliable Reggae Reggae ’Sauce’
ZB595 appears to be the number of the Faro/Liverpool flight everyday. There’s one today.....tomorrow...yesterday......
Sorry..that should be Faro/Manchester.
The irony of these responses related to the original post has made me piss myself. Fran is asking everyone to stop with all the bullshit then some wind up merchant syas there’s a flight from Faro full of holiday makers arriving and nearly everyone bites.
Lee Nosurname is a piss take don’t give the guy the attention. Remeber Riquelme?
You might want to add Louis Saha to your list...
My source says Saha has signed
Saha has just signed.... not my favourite player so I hope he didn?t cost much
Saha has signed - great, just call us Man Utd rejects.
Saha, could be a very good signing...
If he manages to stay off the treatment table...
I agree, Saha will be excellent providing we haven’t spent too much and that he’s actually fit not like Van Der Meyde when he signed. First job is to pick up Moutinho from the airport on his way down for his medical
Rob - I will tell you why. We are supposed to be trying to catch up to the likes of Man Utd. How can we do that if we sign the players that cannot make it into their team ?
This is just panic buying from Moyes. The summer has been a joke and the team won’t be settled until Christmas.
Everton ruined my summer and they’ve just ruined my weekend. Six fucking weeks of build-up and it’s come to fucking Saha. Talk about fucking anti-climax. Wait there’s still a few days to sign Chris Eagles. Cheers!
Tommy Coleman
Yeah, top teams never, EVER try to buy rejects off eachother.
Except Arsenal and Silvestre.
And Arsenal and Diarra.
But to be fair, Wenger is considered a bit a joke in the transfer market.
How are we supposed to compete with Villa and City? They don’t buy rejects from big 4 teams, they buy the likes of Sidwell, Wright Phillips, Ben Haim etc.
Not sure that the Saha deal will get done in time.
His torso is in a cab on it’s way to Finch Farm but they only sent his legs by Royal Mail - might not get here by Monday?
I’d say SWP is a Chelsea reject - he certainly isn’t worth those wages!
Saha is a good player but has never really cut the mustard at Man U. Give him a chance.
Oh, and Tim Howard was a Man U reject too....
Simon - Do you think Silvestre and Diarra will be 1st team regulars at Arsenal ? No, they were signed as cover. All the players we have signed from Man Utd are considered 1st team regulars.
Villa and City are making the same mistakes, that’s why we will struggle to catch up.
We need to find cheap unknown players from a better scouting system and vastly improved acadamy. This will get us closer to the top teams, not buying their rejects.
Rob - If we give up like that we might as well stop watching the sport.
Before I forget, we also tried to sign Roy Keane (most overated player of all time), Nick Butt and Solskjaer. What is it with our relationship with those assholes?
"Do you think Silvestre and Diarra will be 1st team regulars at Arsenal "
Well, Diarra would be of they hadn’t sold him.
But obviously Silvestre wouldn’t be.
Do you think Saha will be first choice? I don’t. I think we’ll play one up front in general, with Saha, Vaughan and Anichebe as backup.
"Villa and City are making the same mistakes, that?s why we will struggle to catch up.
We need to find cheap unknown players from a better scouting system and vastly improved acadamy. "
Actually, I basically agree with this. I would make a slight amendment though: we need to find players who are undervalued, most of whom will come from a better scouting system and acadamy. However, there’s nothing wrong with buying players from United if they are undervalued. Tim Howard is the perfect example. John O’Kane is the perfect anti-example.
Whether Saha is a good buy depends on his price, not on where he came from.
Actually, in Rooney, Vaughan, Anichebe, Hibbert, Osman, Rodwell, Baxter, I think our acadamy is doing pretty well.
Tommy,
Roy Keane the most overrated player of all time? Are you crazy? Maybe you’re just frustrated we never signed him.
Its okay, John Doe - he won’t be the only legless one in the treatment room - we’ve had one like that in there for the last seasons!
I concede Howard has been a great signing but I hate the fact that they sign our best players and we sign their worst. We are just going around and around in circles trying to catch them up.
Sorry Tommy I can’t agree with you. Yes we are trying to catch the likes of United, but this won’t happen in season or in 5 seasons for that matter. So what we have to do is get close to them. Close the gap each season. This takes times. By buying players such as Howard and Saha (provided he stays fit) we are improving our squad and this is the correct way to go.
I've got a feeling Victor Anichebe will go on loan to Preston if we get Saha and another striker i.e Henrik Larsson....
Tommy Coleman you are hilarious. Roy Keane is the most important player to a team I have EVER had the pleasure to watch for both club and country. Are you Irish? Sounds like the typical anti-ManU Irish fan type of shite I’m used to. Moyes needs to be realistic to catch United. Not much point trying to lure Tevez, Ferdinand, Vidic or Evra now is there?
Speaking to some proper Manure fans (actually go the match) and they have all said Saha is a great player IF you can keep him fit. They have all said they will be sorry to see him go specially in their current situation!!!
Louis Saha is not a bad player when FIT! I wouldn?t mind this signing if you could get full seasons out of him but he struggles to play 15-20 games a season these days. We?ll get more games out of Vaughan this season than Saha! I'm not joking I?d rather have Henrik Larsson at 37 for a season then Saha! It's funny how Man Utd owe us money for the Rooney deal from them winning the Champions League and then we end up with Saha, I can't believe that he was on any wanted list by Moysey! And Milner has joined Aston Villa so we can forget about that one.
Saha - 95 goals in 241 games in England.
Let's hope we keep him fit!
