No new signings on the field at the start and Everton slip behind to an early goal...

Nothing against Jags but he isn’t a midfielder so why does he keep dropping deep to pick up the ball? Every attack slows down once he realises he’s actually useless with the ball at his feet.

Yes, we could have scored 2 but this 2nd half has the potential to be very embarrassing.

Just proves again we don’t have the quality in midifeld to play in a 4, we just get ripped to pieces. I don’t blame Jags bcos he is clearly a central defender but will play anywhere for the team. I think Lescott v Glen Johnson down the left makes much more sense, plus Joleon is not performing well in the middle. Baxter anyone? Why not?

You know, I’ve generally defended him in the past, and he’s still OK going forward, but....

Baines is actually quite a poor defender.

There, I’ve said it.

Team is completely unbalanced without Osman in the middle. Arteta and Osman are completely isolated on their wings, with nobody in the middle to play one twos with.

Can’t see how Moyes can fix that with what he’s got on the bench.

Mark, you're right: we miss Carsley massively, I have been trying not to think about it. Watching that second goal back, definitely Baines? fault, he did not follow Johnson?s run left Lescott in the shit. Every time I watch Baines in defense it scares me, I have to say for the money he has to be one of Moyes? worst signings (with Beattie), we know how good he is going forward BUT a defender has to defend first!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Dave, you’ve been a good manager for us, but we need to progress with a more innovative manager. It’s pretty clear from this, we need midfield players. Full marks to Jags & Rodwell for effort, but they both look like defenders to me, being played out of position. Even teams like Pompey and Blackburn know that if they match us for effort and grit that their quality can be the difference. The days are gone where you can win things purely on blood and sweat. Our home record is already ruined, and we?ve only played two very ordinary, mediocre teams... 0-3 now disgraceful. What is going to happen when we play the top 4 and the big spenders Spurs, City if we?re getting hammered by none entities like these. Don?t be soft lad, you can?t be sentimental in football, we?ve gotta move on or we?ll come 12th.

I think Billic fits the bill. He’s a gamble but we need to gamble at the moment or we’ll be left behind. Everyone know the qualities Moyes has but is it going to be enough to take us where we all surely want to go. I’m sure refs give us a hard time too because they see us as physical and the way we try to win cheap free kicks and waste time at home embarrases me. How the hell can a team of journeymen be beating us by 3 goals at home!? There’s something rotten at Goodison, it’s prob Kenwright but he won’t go so it may have to be Moyes. Billic could be an inspirational manager who can get the most out of a limited number of quality players. We should have got Wright Phillips but we just can’t compete, it’s so frustrating...Charlie Nicolas is doing my head in.

This is terrible, but let’s keep things in perspective if possible. Moyes isn’t going to leave over one result. A lot of things have conspired against us today, 3-0 isn’t a just result. That said, we have some glaring weaknesses in the squad. Jagielka as Center midfielder is a disaster. He cannot complete a pass that brings us forward, it’s as if he watched a video of Carrick & attempts those same type passes but instead of putting them on someone’s chest/foot they sail out of play or to the opposition goalkeeper. We desperately need someone to play there (Castillo - M’Bia?) because he lacks Carsley’s ability to break up opposition play. He is a brilliant central defender though, pair him with Yobo & put Lescott at left back, we will be harder to break down, as long as Castillo turns out well. Baines does not show me enough defensively to warrant a spot on my opinion, sell him to Roy Keane if it helps us to Moutinho/M’Bia. Then a dynamic creator along the lines of Manny for the other central slot where Rodwell is playing (NOT READY) & we will be fine. Otherwise look for a lower mid-table finish & being knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Standard Liege - a decent side.

Everton decided cut their losses on Bilić in July 1999, leaving him free to choose a new club but unwanted in England he continued to play only for Croatia on a £27,000-a-week contract with Everton while living in Zagreb. The club eventually agreed to give Bilic a million-pound payoff, representing around half of the balance remaining on his lucrative contract which still had 28 months to run. Just two days later Bilić signed up with his home club Hajduk Split where he briefly played until retiring.

To create the future you must forgive the past. Anyway I’m not convinced I believe any of that anyway - how do we know hat happened inside the club - they always put a PR spin on it whatever happens to make the fans believe their version and that everything is hunkydory. I’m sure he’ll know our potential and if he was successful who would be bothered about that anyway. Mark Hughes has gone to City, do u think their fans will be bothered if he’s successful, i doubt it, but i’m sure a lot of ’em were well pissed off when he arrived because of his Manure connections. You’ve gotta forget about sentiment, if he’s hungry and wants it, I don’t doubt his ability to manage so let’s make it happen.

@Jason, Fair enough, makes me wonder what the hell he’s doing here!, anyway, how about Leahy then? It’s all very well having all these bloody rich advisors, how about one of them gets his hand in his pocket!!

Thank god Stoke, Hull and WBA dont look good enough to stay up. I think a relegation fight is on the cards.

I doubt even many top top players were on 27,000 p/w 9 years ago in 1999 let alone Slaven Billic. Even if he was, you get paid what your worth really or what the respective club is stupid enough to pay you. Giving him a settlement worked out better value for us in the end he could have sat out the last 2 years...not many players would rip up a contract anyway, they’d be stupid to do that. What did you expect him to do? It was poor management ultimately.

Yep - bottom three - look what has happened to the best of the rest... Most worrying for me though was the heads going down hugely visible on Lescott, Arteta and Jags. You could see they were exasperated. Moyes also. For Moyes’s sake, I really do hope he has been lied to like the rest of us regarding money because if he has any and he has waited this long to get someone half decent in midfield then he wants fcuking also.

Times like this, I don?t care who the billionaire is as long as they?re pumping cash into the club.

Seriously, what the fuck is going on?

What the fuck is wrong with the defense?

Move Lecott to LB, some of the goals we have conceded so far have been school boy stuff, CRAP!

Who was marking crouch when he nodded in for the third, disgusting defending!

Hate to harp on about destination Kirkby (I?m a No voter) but, if it had not been called in, would we have had more money to buy the players we want and not had to settle for, being a right back we looked at previously and not wanted, a good but crocked 30 year old forward and an Ecuadorian we know little about?

We were crap today and cannot see with the new signing what they can add?

Until next game.....

I can’t say I’m surprised.

This is the first game of my self imposed exile from Goodison Park until Kenwright sells up......

Looks like I was the only winner in this match. All you lot that called me a mug last week can go and hang their heads. I said that after the Blackburn game we had got sloppy and looked like kids playing against men and I wasn’t going to waste my money on that all season. Again this result proves me right and all the naysayers wrong.

Fuck destination Kirby, I’d rather be mediocre and play at our spiritual home Goodison Park than be slightly better playing in a souless stadium 10 miles away in a scummy town. Let’s keep our soul, I don’t believe we have to move to be successful anyway.

A couple of positive points:

We are obviously not considered a threat to the Sky 4 this year...a penalty this early in the year?

At least we won our 6-pointer against West Brom.

On the OS, it is got one of the headlines as "Saha: Moyes won me over." I wonder if Saha decided to do a Fernandes on us by slipping Rathbone and hopped outside GP on his crutches and back down the M62 while no one was looking...Just a though!

I did not see the game today. Tell me, those that did, how would Pienaar, Tim Cahill, Lescott at left back, Castillo at Defensive midfield and Saha supporting Yakubu have managed?

Can’t believe I’m saying this, what the fuck is Lescott doing?? Not just this game, the Blackburn game too. He left his brain at home. You can kiss your England career goodbye.
