Do your self a favour

After watching today's woeful performance I wondered what could keep me from a re-run of the so-called highlights on MOTD. Luckily I watched Arsenal on the telly (brilliant football) and then went to see Midsummer Night's Dream at the (Anglican) Cathedral (St James Park). It was brilliant and they don't even get paid ? unlike the overpaid twats who ponce around the Premier League on wages that could keep a small theatre going for a year. Do yourselves a favour and go and see it before the end of the run next week ? I will get tickets for the Standard Liege game (out of habit) but there are other things in life and supporting EFC is becoming a chore.

Lads, Moutinho’s on Merseyside ’cos Bluekipper said so. They got the info from the top. They’re friends with Moyes’ dog. That’s where the info came from. Has anyone got the name of the hotel??? I’d go check it out....

Which one will count as ’the big one’, Joao Moutinho, Stephane M’Bia or Elvis Costello?

The Match of the Day highlights showed us as being unlucky to lose and 0-3 as an extremely flattering scoreline to Portsmouth. BBC Sport described us as ’dominating for long periods’. There was a missed penalty, a goalline clearance and a miracle save by David James. Are people reacting to the result or the performance?

The major problem appeared to be the defending, unrecognisable from last year, and the fact that Jagielka doesn’t know how to defend from midfield. Seeing we’re linked with 36 year old Henrik Larsson is worrying. We’re a team who have had lots of success playing 4-5-1, suddenly we’re trying 4-4-2 again and surprise surprise, it isn’t working. Sign three midfielders (probably too late now) and play our best formation, with guys breaking from deep to support Yakubu.

Strangely enough we played our best football this season but were still well beaten by a better than average Pompey. Defoe and James were brilliant and a fair score would have been two one to them. However, its patently obvious that we played in a disjointed way and that was glaringly obvious when Arsenal were shown on TV shortly after. We desperately need a MOUTINHO to lift the crowd, make a new real hero and spark the players we have... Baines was a plus point and should be played in front of Lescott as Lescott is better as a defensive fullback. Jags must go back to centre back with Yobo and we MUST buy a hard tackling midfielder and a goal creater like MOUTINHO.....

Well people by tomorrow night it will be all over for another few months and we will finally know what has happened with the signings. It would be amazing to just get one big name, hopefully Moutinho.Of course we still need a couple more in which will probably be loans or small fees but if we do get Joao just imagine him and Arteta in the middle with Obinna and Pienaar on the wings and Castillo behind them, which should get us through until cahill comes back. come on u blues

I agree with all the above posters on here; we need a defensive midfielder and more creativity and Jags back in defence. But, as Moyes has known this since the end of last season and done fuck all about it, I am not expecting it to change in the next 48 hours. At best we?ll get another no-mark or has-been in...
