An Absolute Disgrace!

Comments (22)

If the papers are to be believed at all, Newcastle have bid £8m for Malouda, West Brom have bid £4m for Trejo of Real Mallorca, Stoke have bid £5m each for Pennant and Ledley.... and the list goes on of bids and buys already completed by other clubs. Unless there is an eleventh-hour miracle, Everton will have spent... errrr? let me think... oh, that's it ? absolutely nothing!

I posted on here a few weeks ago that I'd been told by quite a high ranking employee of the club that the club had gone cap in hand to have their credit lines extended in January in order to pay the players wages and that the club was skint. I was told that this wasn't so unusual. I was also told I was a liar, a dreamer etc etc....

The situation this club is in, and the running of it is, as the title says "an absolute disgrace".

I refuse to waste around £100 a visit for me and my sons (including travel food etc) to attend another match until something changes ? something BIG like a change of owner/chairman whatever. The state of things has actually (and I'm ashamed to admit this) affected my family life over the past several weeks. There are those who'll ridicule me for that, and there are those who will understand...

But to be honest I don't care. I've had enough. If the club as a whole can't be arsed, neither can I.

can’t argue with those sentiments at the moment mate... disgrace isn’t a strong enough word for whats gone on this summer.

A net spend of -10.5million..

agree with you. it wouldnt be so bad if we were told what was going on, but we havent - we just have to assume we are in a very bad way financially and have nothing to spend. this could be disasterous long term, with our top players off to more ambitious clubs - so far they have stayed as moyes and geneally the board also (by backing moyes in recent years) have matched their ambition, but this summer will be looked back upon as a turning point i feel.

You got called a liar because a week later you miraculously came on here and said the exact opposite and we did have money and we were signing Moutinho.

This whole summer has been a disgrace. I have found:
- the way our club is run a disgrace,
- the way we have been lied to by our chairman and manager a disgrace,
- the way our team capitulated against mid-table opposition a disgrace,
- the amount of crap spouted by so called fans all summer because they know "someone" a disgrace,
- the way some fans continue to defend the indefensible chairman a disgrace.

I’m sick of it, absolutely sick of it. I’m going to go and be the husband my wife wants me to be and give up on this load of shite.

3.5million bid for Stephen Hunt rejected by Reading.

Another cheapskate offer.

Why do you make it so hard to support you

why do investors not look at everton as a potential dood investment

why have after finishing 5th had a total spend of -£10.5m

THIS IS SHIT AND WE ALL DESERVE BETTER!

£3½ million for Steven Hunt from Readings??? It's been rejected and we are thinking of offering more!!!

To think people on this site were turning their noses up at Bullard, Huddlestone, Malbranque, and Sidwell... Is that the smell of panic I?m begining to sniff ?

Alan Clarke: I apologise for that I really do, and I?m well pissed off about that. I was effing well duped into believing that was the case... and can?t get an explanation as to why I (and others) were told that money WAS now available and that getting Moutinho was literally a matter of time. That?s part of the reason why I?ve had my fill of being treated the way we?ve all been treated.

Alan, I AM truly sorry for misleading you. I honestly believed what I was told... never again!

I can?t believe good players going to lesser clubs than us, whats happened. We where 5th last year, semi-finals of a cup and a good run in the Europe and yet clubs who nearly got relegated, did bugger all are finding it easy to buy these players.

It plain to see we dont have the money and were putting stupid bids in for players which we know will be rejected.... who are the club kidding... its pathetic and its making this great club look a joke

The thing is Moyes will walk but BK wont!! Its his train set after all

Nod to you at least Brian for taking the hit on passing on dodgy spin from inside sources. It is so difficult NOT to believe something like that you have been told in such convincing tones. We have all been seriously duped... but just wait for the usual apologists (who seem to have been remarkably quiet in these last few days) to come back on, telling us about "perspective" and "raised expectations" and all the other mindless cliches...

Here, Here - my sentiments exactly. It is a disgrace the way they went about selling the ’early bird’ season tickets with hope and promise. No wonder Wyness scarpered. Just got to hope Tim and Pienaar get fit asap - that should be enough to keep us in the Prem - then next close season its either investment or lose our better players.

Its awful watching sky sports news right now. How can Manchester City attract billionaire owners TWICE in 2 years and nobody be interested in us? Everyone else has been bought Man Utd, LFC, Villa, Chelski, Arsenal, West Ham, Portsmouth etc etc etc if we cant even compete with Hull and Stoke in the transfer market then there is little hope for us.

Good post Brian and thoroughly agreed!

This is not MY Everton. I grew up watching a club that was honest and true, that fought for everything and left nothing.

Now that once proud institution stands for lies, incompetence, desperation and failure, and I for one won’t be validating it.

For most of my life I have pumped thousands of pounds into the pockets of millionaires and the only return on my investment has been a big ?Fuck You? in recent months.

They don’t deserve my money, loyalty or support and for the fools who criticize my decision you can gladly have my seat on this train wreck.

On Saturday?s I will treat myself to the theatres and endless bars of London, rediscover old friends and even go on holiday. I have a life away from this shit and in a weird way I must thank Bill for reminding me of it’s value.

Im Boycotting the next home game as a mark of disgust at the shabby offhand way we have been treated. The trip to the USA should have been cancelled or Round sent to look after the team out there.DM should have stayed home and ’MANAGED the transfer business. Our scouts are paid for nothing and the backroom staff outnumber the players. It was plain to everyone that the team was running out of steam long before the end of last season and MORE players were needed not less. The fans employ the board and anyone who performed as badly as this board has in the past months would be out on his arse...Its rotten from top to bottom.
We were promised Quality not dross. We are now the Steptoe and son of the premier and its a tragedy

I hate deadline day, you wait for a big money talented player to arrive, but 12midnight comes and goes and nothing is mentioned about everton.

You wake up next morning and the papers are full of transfers for other clubs. just makes me sick!!

What has happened since last season, a total shambles.

Roll on 2009 - 2010 season.

Totally fucked off by this club, Brian is right, it does affect our lives in a big way because we care so much and we have been taking it up the shitter for too long now!

I have said before it would not have been so bad if BK had come out and said look guys I am really sorry but we need to balance the books and go with some cheap loan deals if we can until I can find investment, BUT OHHH NO, IT’S WHATCH THIS SPACE, WE WILL BE VERY EXCITED AND SUPRISED AND THE MONEY HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE!!!

But no it’s just lies, lies, lies and that is what we are all fucked off at, we have been treated like arsholes and you don’t give a shit, if you did you would do us the grace of being hinest with us!

The one shining light tonight is that I pissed myself laughing at the thought of us running out to steptoe and son!!

LOL-Funny as fuck!

I’m with you Brian ,a few weeks ago I went to collect my grandson from everton in the community training which has been good ,but the guy training the kids said its getting disbanded because we cant afford it and not to expect any big signings when the window opened, the lads in the pub laughed at me saying I was being wound up well their not laughing now neither am I but nothing will change Bill will carry on being a liar treating us with disdain after the London meeting I honestly dont see the point of this egm he will just waffle again untill we can get him out we will sink further in the mire.

Can’t promise this’ll make much sense, as I’ve been at the Quikies best Scotch since about 9 o’clock.

Here we go. All through the Summer, we’ve read, to part in and started debates about EFC. From everything such as DK right through to these last few minutes of, what’s turning out to be the most depressing bloody summers I’ve known in my life.

Isn’t it mad that as a grown man, I keep hoping, like a kid does at Christmas, that someone will come in and save our club from dying and put it where its fans deserve it to be.

No such fecking luck. While all around us are buying, even the newly promoted clubs, we are (I hate to say this but its true) just like the post who said we’re like Steptoe and Son.

The reasons we have ended up like this...well we all have a view. I wouldn’t be totally surprised if a certain Mr Kenwright had a part to play.

Anyway, what I was thinking was, would it be an idea for all those who’ve posted on the long dark march through this Summer, who’ve argued, lost their tempers, suffered to see our club go tits up. Well, I’d really like to meet a lot of the Blues who’ve argued eloquently for their respective points of view and I’d like nto think thaT ALL OF YOU are the real Everton. Not Bill Kenwright, nor Keith Wyness, just us lot.

What if we arranged to meet in Stanley Park and have a sort of DO!
Of course there wouldn’t be any ale and Liverpool City Council would make sure we couldn’t enjoy ourselves but we could meet. We could at least show each other that the real Everton isn’t a sour dream.

The real Everton is the people who meet in pubs before or after the match, who come on here and pour there hearts out and the are the people who don’t know if any one else thinks or feels about there beloved club, like them.

So what I’m proposing is a get together, set a date and coverge on Stanley Park for a "happening"

I Told you I’ve been on the Whiskey but what do you say.
