Doddy, Dutch and Co. What do you think of your 'true blue ' Bill now? Will you still come on here and back him to the hilt? Even if the news about the lad from Liege is true, there is no getting away from the fact that this transfer window, and the way he runs the club, is a total farce. Will you also agree that the man is a liar? His promise of quality players coming in was, as usual, a load of bullshit. I look forward to your spin.

I think all night I counted one person posting on here who was still riding Blue Bill's wave. Of course, the trend is usually so-called knee-jerk reactionism against the unfolding disaster, from those demanding action (see the Mailbag!), later followed by the supposedly more rational and balanced "perspective" of the ones who are blessed with much clearer blue-tinted sight. We shall know better in the morning....

Don?t we normally post a page saying we are doing no further business in the window? I?m hoping the Fellaini deal has gone through and they are waiting to post it on the web...

0020: Big chat that Everton have signed that Marouane Felliani dude from Standard Liege. The Everton website, unhelpfully, is crashing more often than my mate Pearlo in the first year after he passed his driving test, so more news as and when on that one.

fingers crossed

I don?t know enough about Blue Bill to comment, though if someone finds out that we?ve pais some loans off with the spare cash we should have form not signing Moutinho then I?ll go along with that, I?m still positive, or is that drunk, I?m not quite sure right now, I?ve loved this last day of the transfer window though, Man City have really put the cat among the, yeah.

The wiki for Marouane Fellaini is funny, "Marouane ?Dixie? Fellaini-Bakkioui," "He claims his decision to join Everton F.C. was primarily due to Bill Kenwright?s emotional tales of his childhood in the boys pen watching Dixie Dean score the winner against Germany in Escape to Victory. He said that he fully expects to have to fight for his place with Leon Osman." - You lot moaning on here kind of got me down over the last few days but this restores my faith in Evertonians and their sense of humour, brilliant, and within minutes of the announcement of it here too.

I think at the end of the day all we want is a bit of honesty and real information coming from the club. I think BK really has to take a long hard look in the mirror. At best he can now be described as incompitent. Worst well its all been said.

DM I don’t know any more, but his body language has spoken volumes recently. The international break will be a bit of a blessing I think.

All I’m saying is 24/7 "watch this space" 6 or 7 quality additions & Man City finally kill off football for good. Christ Mark Hughes is manager of the richest club in the world.

Massively changed my opinion about foreign investors after today. Would rather have shitty owners who are rich, than shitty owners who are skint.

Breaking news from Standard Liege’s Website

Translation: Fellani is transferred to Everton fc, he’s signed a 5 year contract, the talks have been done for a week now but only pushed through at the very last minute of the transfer window.

He won’t be available for the first round of the uefa cup for his new club.

He’d like to thank Liege for their training which he enjoyed The club and supporters will always be in his heart etc etc thanks for their support.
Only minus point was his inability to help them qualify for the champions league

I hope this is true, he looked quality and just what we need. Well one of what we needed and one of the level I would have been hoping for. Oh and why jump down people's throats with ?i told you so? for them being positive? Should we all give up hope?

I agree, it’s concerning. Surely the deadline has passed and that period of transfers finalised after 12 must’ve gone too.

I dont think Kenwright lied, I honestly believe both he and Moyes tried their hardest to bring in quality players but for a variety of reasons (players choosing bigger clubs, work permits) it just didn?t happen.

That said, I would argue that Louis Saha is a quality player, Segundo Castillo sounds sounds pretty useful and Marouane Fellaini (if the rumors are true) is a very exciting young player.

Sure this summer has been disappointing but at the end of the day we only lost Carsley (past-it), Fernandes (not as good second time around) and AJ (hard working but lacking any threat).

Saha, Castillo and Fellaini (please be true) are more than adequate replacements.

I think it will be a great signing but how come we can pay 18.5 million euros which could rise further dependent on appearences and future achievements for Fellaini but we could?nt stump up the 20 million euros for Moutinho? For the sake of 1.5m euros why didn?t we try are hardest for him, he was supposedly the number 1, main target wasn?t he?!!! Ah well, can't complain about the new boy though, he looked impressive against Liverpool in the two CL games!!!

I?d really, really liked to have seen MORE signings. We footie fans are never satisfed tho? are we?!

As rollercoasters go this one has been more like Indiana Jones? perilous ride in the mines beneath the Temple of Doom. I just about shat my pants.

However, Billy Bullshit broke the transfer record AGAIN (albeit after record receipts for AJ), Saha seems a great bit of business in that it appears minimum risk on a super player ? and the lad himself says he feels good, just needing some games. And we?ve also picked up two more decent looking outfield players.

The most memorable thing about today tho? was the turnaround at Man City. All last week I kept reading about a former chairman twice lending them millions to tide them over and then, out of the (sky) blue, in the space of 12 hours they have new oil rich, billionaire owners and bag a player for £32.5m!

What a day!

Doddy, Dutch & Co. well done for having faith when many were threatening to jump from a ’Sinking Ship’.

We have once again smashed our transfer record and this is arguably the type of player we have been screaming out for for years - a big central midfielder.

Your having a chuckle are’nt you lad, we’ve only spent what we got for Faddy n AJ

Signing a few players other clubs were not interested enough to bid for, does not vindicate blind optimism, nor will it stop people deserting

I sincerly hope that our new "Giant" can justify the price DM has paid for him - I cant offer an opinion, because I havent seen him play - but lets be clear here, no one else was going to pay that much for him

we have been given hope, lets be sensible and not get carried away
