Thank you Guys...

Maybe we all take it for granted sometimes, but last night presumably the holy trinity of Michael, Lyndon and Colm were up burning the midnight oil updating this website with all the latest transfer speculation and possible fact. From what I understand they don't take a penny for running this site and they were up to all hours for what? Giving us tortured Blues a place to sound off and concentrate our hopes and fears.

There's not many fan sites for any team in any sport which can boast something as valuable as ToffeeWeb. Last night I decided to call it quits at 11:30 (from what I've read some poor guy was watching Police Academy to stay awake) but just as I lay my head down to rest I thought 'one more look' and just when all seemed lost and most other fan-site editors would have gone off to Nod as well, we have an update telling us we've surpassed the transfer record once again.

I even read a ToffeeWeb reply to a post indicating we had purchased this guy, demanding a link to the information posted. It read like Red Bull saturated order full of excitement that this information can be verified and passed on to the faithfull in these dark times... and you know what? If they didn't I wouldn't have had the good night sleep that I have enjoyed.

Cheers guys, nicely done job.

Yeah agreed, I think at times we have all taken this site and the people who run it for granted.

Deep down we are all very, very grateful to Toffeeweb and the guys who run it for the constant hard wotk they put in and truth be know, us shower don’t know where we would be without it.

The official site is shite in comparison!!!

Cheers Toffeeweb.

Well done guys!

Whilst I don’t always agree with everything you write, and I’ve even been on the wrong end of Michael’s wrath at times (lol!), you folks do a superb job and remain the most pro-active, varied and suitably controversial EFC website. This summer and on deadline day there was only one place to be, and that was on Toffeeweb! Cheers and well done!

Yeah - nice one guys.

Might not always agree but really enjoy the banter and at times intense discussion.

Last night was painful, I went to bed depressed at 1.30. Got this morning with a right cob on, listened to Radio 2 on the way to work.

Turned PC on on logged on to TW expecting to read a tirade of abuse against DM and BB then find we announced the big one about 10 mins after I went to bed.

I should have stuck with you to the bitter end!

Yeah, well done guys.

At least we finally had one advantage down here in Oz - the latest news was being released at a much more preferable hour. Better than over the last 3 Saturdays when we stayed up late to watch, well, I guess what we knew was going to happen anyway!!

A sincere thank yous to the TW staff. If I may add, the TW are fans themselves, so let’s give THEM some slack too! Cheers,

Well done guys for keeping us informed of what has been going on this evening.

I guess you lot are going to get some sleep.

I'm off for lunch, in a far happier mood than 2 or 3 hours ago

Good post Nick, I have ben away myself for a few days in Valencia, didn’t meet Manny, he played like his old self last week, we will miss him, anyway only for Toffeweb I would have been lost myself for info, I really am getting too old for these midnight hours, thanks too all for a safe port over the last few stormy weeks, now if only Manny came back in January, would anyone like to start the thread, once again thanks Toffeeweb for a great night’s work.

Too right, big thanks respect to the inhabitants of TW towers! (Except my wife was none too pleased when I woke her up early doors shouting, ’YES,FUCKING YES!’ - in release of pent up frustration on reading the news on TW that the big grocko from morrocco had indeed been landed at the very last minute... :-))

To my knowledge, Toffeeweb was the only Everton fans site that wasn’t consistently crashing or taking a millon years to load... and i include the official site in that. For that i am grateful, well done guys

Nicely done Nick. Much thanks to the toffeeweb lads, you really do do a fantastic job allowing us to vent, rant, gossip, rave. Last night I had three seperate toffeeweb pages open so I could just hit the refresh buttom every minute on each different page. Cheers for all the hard work you lads put in. Much appreciated!!!

Fully agree - nice one Nick, and well done Michael and Lyndon. I was alternating between the BBC (not bad), Sky (rubbish), and Toffeeweb (picked up the official Fellaini announcement FIRST!) all evening. Well done guys - last night as always!

I’m an ex-pat newcomer to TW, an excellent site, run more "professionally" than most (incl. OS), and provides the best Everton news and conversation for the world-wide Evertonian community, while run on a "boot-string"!

Great stuff, gents!

Cheers from Toronto

Like most Evertonians, I spent most of transfer deadline day biting my nails and waiting nervously for news of any transfer business at Goodison. The evening went on and Carlo Nash was the only new note of buisness and I cursed and got frustrated. Until, breaking news on ToffeeWeb, Everton, according to Belgian news appear to have signed Marouane Fellaini. Great, Sky, BBC and even the Everton website will be announcing it soon..... No. Not a word.

Even when the official Standard Liege website announced the deal, not a word anywhere else. I am sure you guys must have even began to doubt your sources. Thankfully you held firm and kept all our hopes and spirits up! I slept better knowing ToffeeWeb were there, keeping us blue noses up to date. Thank you, but can you tell us why the club decieded to keep us in the dark, why the all seeing all knowing Sky Sports did not know a thing, and why Everton fans around the world thought that Carlo Nash was our big money signing?????

The moral of the story is don't bother with those other sites and their so-called news. ToffeeWeb, number 1 as always!!!!

Thank you and goodnight!

Thanks to all of you for your great comments. And sorry to Steve Darron for sticking this last one here, but I really couldn’t sanction a second self-promoting thread on one day!

The interactive element of this website that Lyndon upgraded so effectively a year or so back has, I have to admit, been a tremendous success in providing a very lively and (mostly) open forum for those who want to discuss intelligently what’s going on at Everton. I think that has had a massive positive effect on promoting the immediacy and relevance of what we are providing elsewhere on the site, which can look stagnant in comparison.

So I want to thank each and every one of you who has contributed to the consistently good and occasionally excellent level of discussion on these pages. Please keep it up... and also please feel free to Report Abuse whenever you see it so that we can continue to weed out the numpties and maintain the high level of these exchanges.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum! ? We know it applies to us too!
