Interesting stat ? we're still 5th in 2008.

Not really a pressing matter but just a remarkable statistic. I was a bit surprised when I read the Premier League table, based on games played in 2008, in this link:

We're still 5th, despite our average start of the season and the collapse towards the end of last season! Since we only won 2 of our 9 last league games last season and didn't start particularly well this season I'd expected us a bit lower. The table shows that Spurs haven't improved at all since Jol left and that the Barcodes are in complete shambles, but we all knew that already.

This just backs up what I've been thinking for the last couple of months.

And its that if Spurs realise that they?ve made a big mistake in Ramos and decide they?ve had enough of ?Mr foriegn manager,? they may make a move for our Davey.

I reckon he would defo go there because they will back him to the tune of £30 mil a season..

I'm praying he signs his new contract soon.....

The difference between Spurs and Everton is this: Moyes at Spurs would not get the time to assemble a team, make numerous mistakes, lose the dressing room and nearly get the team relegated before getting the sack. He got that time and trust at Everton, which is one reason why he is a success. If Moyes knows what is good for him, he should stay put - at least during Bill’s tenure.

We remain 5th despite the dodgy end and start of season results because our points tally in the middle 19 games of last season was close to premier league winning standard!

The really amusing thing is it's the team at the top that sacked their manager....

Haha, this is great news in my opinion and it shows that David Moyes has raised expectations! Evertonians have clearly not been happy with our form in recent months but still we show up the best of the rest. A decent xmas run and an injury free season... who knows!

We had a fantastic run of form in the League from Boro on New Years Day to Sunderland in mid March - think it was 7 wins and 2 draws from 9 games.

We still basically have all those players bar Johnson and Carsley, but have added Fellaini, Castilla and Saha so why can’t we do something similar again?

Our form from when Cahill came back on Oct 25 against Larissa to when he was injured again against West Ham on Mar 22 was of Title winning proportions - seriously go and check the stats. As we all know Tim is the vitral component in EFC - let’s hope he is injury free from now on.

It’s just Timmy! Take the games he played in last season, ’the middle 19’ (as Gerry says), and translate that form to the rest of the season and we would have been fighting it out right at the top.

Here’s hoping he inspires such form this season. He was the difference on Sun for a start!

Also, Cahill has a knack of scoring against the RS. Had he been playing last year we could easily have produced two wins. That would have left us on 71pts last season, them on 70.

Keeping this man fit is the key to success.
