Alan Smith

"Newcastle midfielder Alan Smith could be sidelined for three months after being told he needs surgery to repair a stress fracture".
Someone mentioned on here a week or so ago that Everton only seam to get the bargain buys because they are crocked, so WHY did we want to sign Smith if it was unlikely he would play again until 2009?
January anyone?

If at the time of our reported interest Smith had taken a medical and it had shown a stress fracture that would have ruled him out for 3 months and we had still pursued a deal to sign him for the reported £3million then you would have grounds for complaint, as it is the deal fell apart at the money stage, no medical was taken and therefore this argument is a complete non-starter.

Taxi!
But on a more serious note, I was just noting that maybe David Moyes understands the situation and thinks he can get another bargain!
Saha, VdM, Baines?.. I think there are more that I can?t remember
Brett, this is a ridiculous post, I am surprised the editors have let it be posted. Moyes doesn?t have a chrystal ball. How could he possibly know in the summer that one of his targets might need an op in mid-September?
The mind boggles...
He didn’t sign for us so forget about him
Yeah Phil. Agree with you 100%.
Baines crocked was he Brett? We paid £6 mil for him which is hardly a knockdown price.
What are the chances of him being injured? I'm glad we never got him.
We signed Andy Gray and he says in his book he was crocked. Rooney was signed by Man Utd with a broken toe. Andy VdM signed when injured and so has Saha. Then we spend almost a month getting Lescott due to medical problems and we all remember Andy Johnson and Fulham. The conclusion to all this is that football is run by idiots and watched by fools. That is life.
