Hibbo`s back!

Not quite the news to set Everton pulses racing but Davey obviously thinks we need captain Pip to lead from the middle!
Still think we may spring a surprise and grab the points ? just sorry I couldn`t get a ticket!

Sorry DM bringing in Hibbert so soon in this game is a big mistake. Better to have put Jagielka at right back and Lescott at centre with Baines at left back. I hope I am wrong. Castillo should have stayed in.
Chances are that knowing how many times redshite fairy tales happen in Derby games that Gerrard will score his 100 goal and Keane will score his first.
That is assuming Everton's defence is in generous mood yet again.
Mike Riley you can add him to the Liverpool team sheet from what we’ve seen in the first 10 mins
Does anyone have a link for a live stream? Im glad Hibbert is back should straighten out that back four.

Everton tv have a live audio stream.
It's not easy listening though.

Excellent stream
Another bent ref me thinks, he blew up on a non existant foul, just before Felaini shot, maybe it was just in case we scored!
Thanks all, especially Art. Come on the Blues!!
The Yak is being wasted... 5 in midfield and he’s yet to be found.
we are playing hoof ball out of defense, just inviting the shite to keep attacking!
Actually The Yak was found then decided to fall on his arse...
Mike Rileys breakin this game up, completely incompetent. What the hell was wrong with that coner on the 44 min? Never mind the yellow
I know, usually I admit that maybe when refs let them play on at some points that maybe they should have called the foul, but Riley hadn’t even let this game get going. He’s taken all drama and football out of it.
Crap, scrappy, no flow, long balls, no shots... and no changes as Moyes will be happy with it 0-0.
We need to get Fellaini off asap. He has been scared to tackle since the yellow. Just walking around chasing shadows. Hibbo and Pip have been excellent and I'm no fan of either. The Yak's been completely starved. 2-0 coyb Yak & Saha.
Nothing between these sides but Moyes has restored confidence to the defence by the Hibbert/Neville move. Let?s pinch one and then shit up shop. COYB!
I actually think Riley is doing ok, the yellow card was a typical ref trying to stamp his authority on the game early on. There are plenty of decisions going our way as well, which, if you were a redshite, you would be shaking your head at. I agree though, I wish he would let the game flow a bit more, instead of blowing for everything. By the way, are we actually the home side? The shite are playing all the football, but thankfully they haven’t got anything to show for it. Another game were we resort to hoofball, which isn’t doing the yak any favours. I just wish for once, Moyes would have just gone for it. We are always being told by plenty of you lads on here, that we are just as good as them, so for once, why not have a go? But, the mentality of Moyes for the first half, seems to say we are playing for a draw.
Do some of you actually WATCH the game, or just repeat presumed stereotypes...?
We are NOT playing hoofball out of defence ...
The only long balls I’ve seen played have been out of necessity - that is, sensibly clearing the lines when the defence is under threat.
There has been some very nice link up play throughout the whole team. Even Hibbert has picked out sensible short passes to feet.
We have clearly been the better team as an attacking force since the 20 minute mark and have had the best chances. Timmy could have done better on a couple of occasions and Fellaini - even though he didn’t score when Carragher cleared off the line - should NEVER have had a foul called on him when Reina dropped the ball...
The one concern I’ve had to date is the space at time down their left, on our right. Fortunately, Keane hasn’t been alert to overlapping players to take full advantage of the threat.
An encouraging first half, IMO...
Glad the Yak got booked, shameful. Perhaps a shot would have been better... tosser.
Art please,
what is the access code to enter to watch on justintv ??
Cheers.
Moyes is waiting till we go 1 down till he makes a switch
No need for an access code... copy paste this link:

into your browser and you should be find. If you come to a landing page where the screen isn’t already active, you SHOULD see a link to the game.
Good luck...
Am I the only person embarrassed by all this? Can we not pass a ball? And Fellaini is a total dumpling. Get him off!
For counselling ring the Everton Helpline
0800 020202!!!
I meant when we go 2 down.
Frank, maybe he was waiting till it was 2?
Just looking on e-bay for a defense ..... oh dear oh dear oh dear
We’re being completely outplayed, simple as that. What a poor Everton perfomance, but it doesn’t surprise me.
This is car crash tv. Everton look like a team, no a club, on the sldie. I think all the uncertainty in the summer, the lack of signings, Moyes’ refusal to sign a contract and defeatist attitude is all crystallizing just about NOW! Does Motes deserve that contarct now? No. He may not even deserve his job anymore
The same inevitability about this as last year.
Tear up that contract and let somebody else have a go before we slit our wrists.
Fellaini... lacking in confidence completely. Castillo please.
I’m sitting in work sneaking onto the internet and wish I hadn’t bothered.Someone said in response to my post"time to be bold " that
"Motes doesn’t do bold".Too fucking right he doesn’t.I think most Evertonians would have liked, particularily in a home game,to see Saha start. But we’ve got a dour ,safety first boring manager who is happy to bleed the club dry.Time for him to go.I mean that even if we score four in five minutes.
Hoofball, hoofball, what the hell is Moyes thinking. I can’t think of one decent attack this match. And Cahill sent off. Dear me.
Oh fuck, this is awful and to top it all we’re going to have to suffer another Tony Marsh pile of shite
We arent anywhere near! The gulf is widening at the top and we’re heading to lower mid table. Poor all round. They come to Goodison and go 4-4-2. We dither around waiting for them to score 2 then put 2 up front. Moyes is a Fucking idiot. There goes Cahill too!
Not going to blame the referee with our performance, but he is a fucking twat. Missing Cahill for the next 3 matches, relegation... Perhaps.
Disastrous day, never a straight red, we are massively in crisis
Not a red card at all... if we don?t get a goal by 85', I turning on the F1.
Is anyone honestly surprised?
I simply dont know how we?ve become so poor. If we concede 2 goals every game, we?ll be relegated too.
Fellaini looks a real bargin at £15m - Jesus...
I for one have had enough. What have we really acheievd since the days of Walter Smith. Bottom 6 this season is what we are. Moyes can Fuck Off...he’s just Gary Megson.
Absolute shite, the whole lot of them. And Fellaini needs to get his finger out of his ass, £15m, fuck me...
Why do we put ourselves through this fucking shit? I found myself admitting I?d be happy taking 0-0 yesterday. Moyes reached his plateau long back. He?s spent the money so has no excuses. Find a new challenge, mate.
Fellaini doesn?t look interested.
Have we had a shot on target?? I don?t think so.
If Terry can get his red card rescinded then surely Cahill can as well...
Would one of them please hurt Gerrard...
Saha will be a class signing though.
Have we had a shot on target?
Looking for positives (apart from a rich Arab) - Cahill banned means Saha?
Yup, change to a 4-4-2 with Saha will do us good, this 4-5-1 has been a stinker recently.
I have always been a fan of DM but I think it's time he went. No confidence, no pride, no urgency, no cohesion, no tactics, no idea. This isnt a knee jerk reaction either. How many more times do we have to put up with 4-5-1 until we realise it doesnt work, especially against decent teams AND when we are at home. If he aint got the balls to be bold then he can bugger off!!!!!!!!
Rich - Reina hasn’t had one save to make
I for one am glad the RS took the foot off the gas after the 2-0. We are sliding away in the Premier League. There?s no pattern in Everton?s display, nothing.
I too have always been a fan of DM but I agree, I don?t think the delay in signing his contract has helped either... hang on it has helped ? we can rip that contract up now and tell him to do one without it costing us in compensation :)
Let's make no mistake, a complete and utter shower of shit, not just today, but since the end of last season. No hope, no direction, no football. Fuck off, Moyes!
What a stupid red card. Even though they were the better team on the day that was not a red. Why is it us that get those bad decisions?
RED Card for WHAT exactly?
Holly crap, what is it with the inept refs that they give us for these games?
That is seriously taking the piss. He was late and that was it. He didn't go in studs up, he didn't go high, he didn't hurt the player (the soft git), seriously WTF is up with that pencil head of a ref, that was not a red card. Tosser!
Disgraceful. Moyes, for god's sakes grow some balls ya negative twat or get gone. Leaving Fellaini for 90 mins... WTF? Saha should have come on at half time, but no, the Moyesiah can't do proactive, just reactive.
Second-best in every respect. Players of modest ability coached to produce "football" of such poor quality that it should only be seen in a ?Carry On? film.
The last eighteen weeks have been a vile joke at the expense of decent supporters.
Piss poor. Shows the limitations in Moyes?s game. Reacts to situations rather than changing for the better. Why did we have to go 1-0 down before he even contemplated making subs? And by the time he did it we were then 2-0 down. Game over.
As for the players, I thought the back four played quite well considering. The game was lost in midfield. Fellaini looks like he can only pass backwards and sideways, no influence from Cahill or Osman. Yak looked too isolated up front.
Saha looked bright and he has to play from now on, probably at the expense of Osman. I also thought it was a mistake to leave Castillo out. I am gutted, but unfortunatley not suprised.
Painfully disappointing second half. If we need to score two goals every game just to draw, then we are going to struggle.
Once again, the defence went missing. How can a player with the reputation of Torres be left with so much time and space in the area as he had for the two goals? It appeared a combination of players switching off for a nano-second and not being alert to a threatening situation (Keane getting to a ball to the byeline and crossing for the first) and players simply not picking up their man by either running past them themselves or allowing their man to run past them. At this level it is inevitable you will get punished for it.
Jags was the most solid of the back four, Hibbert perhaps next best... Yobo and particularly Lescott have a nervous flicker in their eyes at the moment. There is almost a tangible fear in their play. Howard is exempt from any blame for the two goals.
People in this thread are hanging Fellaini out to dry, but this for me was his best game so far. I accept, he has not yet fully adjusted to the pace of the EPL and for a big lad he needs to stand up to the physical challenge more. But from what I saw, he didn’t hide and he does have technical ability. Right until the last minute he kept looking for the ball AND trying to pass it. Compare his performance today with that of Arteta and I would argue that Fellaini contributed much more. When I first saw his failed header in the second half, I thought he didn’t go for it, but when you see the replays his shirt was fully in the grip of the ’poo defender, preventing him from jumping, and it merited a pen. Cahill’s red card was not justified, but Tim didn’t facilitate the situation by walking away and refusing to return to Riley when summonsed. Not smart...
Always horrible to lose to the ’bours. Confidence is evidently very low. Everybody, but EVERYBODY within the club need to get this sorted before the season goes down the pan before the trees are barren of leaves.
And top of the list is the Moyes’ contract issue: sign... or go. The "imminent" signing has dragged on too long. Everybody, the players in particular, need to know just where we stand on that score.
Forever Blue...
I can?t wait for Pienaar to make his comeback, that derby display was fucking hopeless, 4-5-1 doesn?t work if Cahill is non-existent.
Team for the Newcastle game: Howard, Neville, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Arteta, Fellaini, Castillo, Osman, Saha, Yakubu. The position we are in at the moment we cannot afford luxury players. DM can say all he wants about contracts and so-called panic buys but at the moment he can't pick a decent team formation to save his skin.
Wow Art, you're easily pleased. In Fellaini, I don?t see a player worth anywhere near £15m. I know you will say it?s still early days, but surely by now, we would have seen a glimpse of quality, that you would expect from a player with that price tag? Maybe we should nickname him the crab, because all he ever does is pass sideways.
I think it is way too early to jump all over Fellaini, he has to be given time to settle in. I see a young player, being played out of position by Moyes, finding his feet in an environment he has never seen before. What do people expect from him?
He is not the creative force we want he is a shield for the back four in the Carsley role, but he can pass he is ok technically and he will improve, which I believe was the scouting report on him when he signed!
It is not his fault we paid over the odds for him and it is not his fault Moyes didn?t buy anyone then bought two defensive centre mids (to make three with Neville) for one position. He was never going to be Moutinho fellas, get off his back, it is not his fault we are shit.
Don?t worry, I?m sure Richard Dodd will be on in a minute to tell us all the positives he saw today!!!
No Brian Waring - not "easily" pleased... and nowhere in my post do I say I am. I have made absolutely no observation, at any time, as to the value of Fellaini. I haven?t seen enough of him to judge and nor, I suspect, has any one posting on this site.
Nor am I as quick to condemn as you and others appear to be. Totally disagree in your assessment of Fellaini and his passing. If and when he did pass backwards or sideways it was in a typical continental style, if you like, short "give and go" passes, forming effective triangles to pass through the opposition (a lá Arsenal). Isn?t that what you and others crave of Everton...? Equally, he DID play some cute forward passes, but in your rush to condemn him (to indirectly condemn Moyes, perhaps...?), you choose to edit that out of your memory banks.
Now whether the rest of the team are on his wavelength yet, or he on theirs, is another matter.
He... the other new players... ALL the players have not been helped by the late recruitment of new faces. But THAT is another issue for which Fellaini himself cannot be held accountable.
Art, you say, "Now whether the rest of the team are on his wavelength yet, or he on theirs, is another matter."
One question, how long does it take to get on the same wavelength as, "Here's the ball... now just twat it up as far as you can!"?
And there yer go Brian, repeating a stereotype and thinking you?ve presented a knock-down argument. You haven?t.
The implication of your words is that ALL Everton do when the ball arrives at the feet of ANY player in EVERY game is... "to twat it up as far as you can". They don?t. You and others can continue repeating that mantra if you wish, but it?s simply wrong.
Everton does have some good footballers, capable of playing good football. They demonstrate as much in just about every game we play... and Fellaini will, I hope, contribute more and more to that style of play. Hopefully, this will result in ever-increasingly more attractive football that every supporter craves for, over more sustained periods of individual matches and the season as a whole.
Soooo... am I too easily pleased again Brian...? Or... simply more tolerant, patient and eternally optimistic than your nay-saying attitude...?
If we were playing 4-5-1, why were the shite picking up all of the second balls in midfield and running at our "defence"? (because 3 of those midfielders were Osman, Cahill, and Neville).
If children and babies knew that the redshite would run at Hibbert on our right and test his match readiness (he wasn?t) and our tactical changes, how come Moyes didn?t know that? (because that?s what Moyes always does - there is no reason)
If we have 2 strikers like Yak and Saha, how come we couldn?t get a shot in?(because we didn?t have a midfield capable of getting the ball to them).
If the game is being refereed by Wiley, how could we expect anything else about the cards? (we didn?t - and while I wouldn?t call him a bastard he sets the standard for why kissing cousins shouldn?t).
If Moyes doesn?t want to sign his contract, why is he still here? (fucked if I know)
It’s too easy to knock Fellaini, he might make it or he might not but he’s only just arrived and needs some time to get used to the Prem. But what about anonymous Osman - another big game and he disappears, what does he contribute in games like this? too small, too slow and completely ineffective against anything other than crap sides. Cahill only offers enthusiasm and energy no ability on the ball but the biggest issue of them all is the manager and his tactics.
No imagination in his tactics, always reacts to situations and is never proactive, sticks to runners and chasers. Against a passing team like Liverpool selecting Neville in a 5 man midfield might as well hand them the initiative right from the start. The balance of the team is crap and that is down to Moyes, his selections and his buys. His midfield lacks width and lacks anyone with guile apart from Arteta.
Its time for Moyes to go, his body language says he wants away so why doesn’t he just go - waiting for us to get dumped out of Europe no doubt!! He’s reached his ceiling and will never progress with any football club other than as huffers and puffers and Everton demand more than that.
The thing is, when the Yak was shit when he first came, you knew still what he was capable of. Fellaini doesn?t show anything. He?s gangly and awkward and doesn?t look in any way athletic. He?s 6ft -4in and jumps to about 5ft-8in. I saw nothing in him today that made me think he had any potential. £15million? What a shambles.
