Yakubu

We deservedly lost, our performance in the 2nd half was woeful. We conceded 4 goals (albeit only 2 counted) within 5 minutes.
However, the game was pretty even at nil-nil with Liverpool limited to long range shots that never tested us. Just after the re-start the Yak had a great chance, he moved into the area and the defender failed to tackle, this was our real chance, our only chance and with the yak a goal was possible. BUT, he DIVES.
It was a disgrace, if he scored it would have given us a real chance to win and kick-start our season, but he dived.
There is a lot to be dissapointed about, however this has really stuck with me all day and I was wondering if anyone else thought the same.

Completely agree! I was shocked at how easily he went to ground, and not only that, but how utterly unconvincing he was in doing it. I can’t help but feel that he’s eaten a few too many pies over the summer and has lost a bit of what he had last year. At times yesterday he wouldn’t have looked out of place in a big romper suit - he just looked like a big chunky toddler that couldn’t stay on his feet. Sorry Yak, you could be a hero but it’s just not good enough this season.
I agree, I didn't for one second think it was a penalty and immediatly berated the Yak for the dive! Hopefully, a fit Louis Saha breathing down his neck will give him a kick up the arse because I thought Saha looked good when he came on and was unlucky with a belting shot that he had. I hope to see them both start in Liege tho! We simply have to go for it!
Although I agree that the Yak dived and deserved his booking, I still think it was more of a penalty than when Gerrard fell down last year and got up and got Hibbert sent off.
Yep, couldn't agree more. I couldn't believe he chose to dive rather than shoot in such a good position. Totally deserved the yellow card ? he actually dived in a good position in the first half just outside the area as well.
Spot on - why didn't he shoot?
I think he has had a good start to the season.
The problem is that we have conceded more goals than any other club!
He’s a class act, we’d be lost without him. The good thing about his diving is he seems to only do it against Liverpool.
Although I do not condone the shameful and laughable snipering of thhe Yak, I agree that Shithouse la did the same and effectively swung the game in the shite?s favour last derby day in an ?unjust? way if you are into your morals. Maybe the Yak had not got the energy to shoot as he spent the whole first half competing for the first, second and third balls from our defence splitting passes. He is a class act, agreed, his conversion rate in the Premier League is excellent which begs the question, why do we feed him so little to work with?
Now thinking about it, I would rather see him dive than put his thumb up to whoever was smashing a ball over his head!
It was a blatent dive and I felt embarrassed. But as he is the only player at the club that I consider anywhere near top class, I?ll forgive him. Lescott when he regains his form could also be a top player but his form right now is poor.
I didn't feel embarrassed... Why shouldn't our players dive to win penalties/free kicks?
After last season and the treatment of Andy Johnson, I would actually encourage them to go down easy if nothing more than to get on the ref's tits... Some of the decisions we have been dealt with from referees has been embarrassing though...
I think he was too knackered. He didn’t look to have the strength to move the ball to his left or right and smack it, as he did against Portsmouth last season. If he’s running all day on his own up front how can he? He needs to practice the dive though, poor execution. Drag his leg against the opponent’s and only fall when you feel the contact.
