Why can't BK sell ?

Comments (28)

As a lifelong Blue I am getting more and more depressed at the state of the club. Never mind the shambles on the pitch, I am a lot more concerned at what is goin on behind the scenes. Everton have been run like a big boys hobby since BK took over, I am grateful he bought the club in the first place because we'd have been in even deeper shit if he hadn't. But all this talk we've had for the last 2 years, and more recently reinforced that he wants to sell the Club is all well and fine, but if his selling techniques are anything like the rest of his football business acumen its no wonder nobodys interested.

The Bar Codes only have to mention they are on the market and within days there is talke of all sorts of buyers queuing up, Man City suddenly found a sugar daddy, Villa sold up to the Yanks, everyone except EFC can find a suitor and whats coming out of Goodison reagrding buyers, sod all! How can a club with thie history and fan base we have not find someone to be interested in buying?

I think its all down to the usual apathy at the club starting at the top. If they were actively looking for a buyer I'm sure there would be somebody (not the fantasy ones like the Fortress crap) out there willing to invest. This apathetic attitude seems now to be filtering down to the manager and team. DM looks like he can't be arsed, the players look like they can't be arsed and we are now starting to feel the same. How can a Club who finished 5th last year end up in such a soddin mess, look at the top boys, they are now trying to gag us with the new Shareholders rules but surely to god we can't let the club go any further down into the mire.

Kenwright, if you really do love this club like you so often profess, get off your luvvy arse and find someone who can at least give us hope again becasue after supporting this club for more than 40 years, I am losing it more every day.

I saw that the Mirror had run a story saying that Anil Ambani was in talks with regarding a possible takeover.

EFC have refuted this saying that they did have a call from someone "claiming" to represent Ambani but requested that he put his request in writing.

Now I’m not sure if I’m missing something here but shouldn’t BK be the man contacting these people rather than the other way round ??

I can just see it now ..

AA - "Hello Mr Kenwright, it’s Anil Ambani here, the sixth richest man in the world. I am interesed in buying your football club and would like to discuss it further"

BK - "Put in writing and I’ll think about looking at it"...... hangs up

AA "Hello ?? Hello ??.... F*ck you then !"

Kenwright doesn’t want to sell. If he really did, he’d be putting it up for the sale with Investment Bankers handling it like Mike Ashley.

Going around saying you want to sell is quite different from actually securing professional services to sell it for you.

On another note, I can’t believe it but I’m glad Hibbo is back. His sliding crunch tackles are sorely missed at the moment!

I think the reports about Ambani is more about journalists putting 1 and 1 together in the hope that if it does happen they can say that they reported it months in advance.

I will simply beleive it when I see it.

Ashley is putting much more effort into selling Newcastle this is because he has been pushed out by the fans.

Kenwright will stay on his throne unless we do the same, otherwise he’s quite comfortable where he is.

Bill Kenwright will only sell if he can stay on in some capacity, preferably chairman.Everton is about his ego.He thinks that telling people what they want to hear is not lying. His love of being chairman makes him impervious to what is good for the club.

Could not agree more Andy. I dread to think what sort of role Billy Bullshit will play in the future of the club.
Just hope it is not too significant.

I’m totally behind all that’s been posted.

I posted a few months ago saying City and Newcastle had appointed top brokers to sell their respective clubs.

What did Billy Bullshit do - made a statement at the EGM that he wanted to sell because he couldnt take the club where he wanted it to go and posted an article in The Liverpool Echo.

WTF which billionaire reads the Liverpool echo?

LIke some of you I cant believe Moyes is taking all the flak while "the illusionist" pulls another of his smoke and mirrors routine into place.

He needs to go quickly before Moyes and the team are beyond redemption.

I can assure you that Bill Kenwright has no immediate plans to sell the club and is merely noting those parties who declare an interest.
His immediate concerns are the successful resolution of the contractual negotiations with David Moyes and a succesful outcome for the DK Inquiry.
In answer to the question posed above, he would expect-at the very least-to be named President Emeritus in the event of a future take-over of the club although he would make himself available as a consultant to the new board if requested.

And what exactly would he offer the club as ’president emeritus’ or ’club consultant’???

Mindless platitudes and ceaseless bullshit?

If we need a clown we’ll phone up coco..

The man is now officially a pariah within this club...he is not wanted.

Andy, you're bang on mate. Richard Dodd is just one big wind up. No one could possibly toe the party line that much. I thought there was no way he could be on the level after he refused to see even the slightest issue with the transfer fiasco of the summer.

Richard we're right onto you, mucka!

I’ve even thought Richard Dodd and Tony Marsh are one and the same person. Dreamt up by someone to stir the debate. They are so polar opposite of each other that it’s almost ridiculous!

Bill Kenwright DOES NOT WANT TO SELL. Read the application for the stadium at Kirkby by DTZ. ?The current board have no intention of selling any shares in the club? It?s in BLACK AND WHITE. Surely anyone with ONE brain cell can see Kenwright is a total bullshitter and is in it for himself. He is the root cause of all EFC?s problems. At no other club would the chairman get away from being so incompetent as him. But wait ?He?s a blue? so everything it?s ok. Bill Kenwright: Plays Evertonians like a violin.

No one will buy until we get a new ground. When will you realise that. The only ground avaialable that we can afford is in Kirkby.

Like it and accept it and watch the club go forward

When is government meeting taking place for the Kirkby plan??

Pretty sure Big Bill is waiting until that fails or succeeds before he calls back Anil Ambani...as per Lian Latchford’s great post.

Also, you can be sure Mr AA is courting more than one premiership team dangling his £20b carrot in front of many and possibly playing one off the other to lower what he ends up paying for a team...in which case...Bill pull your pants (and price) down and take on for the team.. ;)

Like Ian Edwards said - " no one will buy us until we get a new ground - and that will have to be Kirkby "

This continous long drawn , vitreolic debate about BK not wanting to sell , why can Newcastle ,Villa and City get investment ...blah blah blah .... - they all have modern grounds and need little monies wasted on them .. Everto’s tin shed is 40 years out of date and any investor will have to cough up £200m on ground - and hey no one wants to do that.

The way some talk you’d think Bill should have 6 billionaires on his shelf waiting to buy him out - just get real for once please.

Kenwright has no intension of selling Everton unless he stays on the board with someone else putting up the money. He says he wants to sell to someone with everton at heart but no one wants to buy. Sundays game against the barcodes will put two chairmen together who are very unpopular, should be an interesting crowd.

If Bill did want to do whats right for the club he would have already signed the club over or would be signing the dotted line soon. If AA has 20bn then re-developing Goodison or other site proposed would be more then financially viable, they’d be a f**king cert! That way Bullshit Bil could see ’his’ club remain in the city and take over the RS

Do us all a favor Bill, and do as you f**king said and SELL

The Ground is another smoke screen, Villa don’t have a new Ground and they got money, Arsenal got theirs paid for by the Emirates but were in Highbury before they got involved. If we got an investor with enough dosh we would have more clout to demand a site in the City and build a proper stadium (another Emirates?).
If I was an potential investorafter the move (god forbid) to Kirby and looked at our new Cut Price Stadium, the Tesco Stadium, what incentive have I got to invest anything ?

I think that the possible ground move to Kirkby is actually putting possible investors off. Think about it, the sixth richest man in the world saying to his advisers, "I?m only interested in buying Everton if they move to Kirkby". Yeah ok!

Could someone explain to me why no one will be interested in us until we have a shiny new ground. Surely the situation is that at the moment we have a club valued at a certain amount, and should we move to Kirkby then the value of the club would increase by the amount spent on the outlay for Kirkby.
Either way if someone buys us now or later, they are going to pay for the new ground in some way.

Kenwright and the other majority shareholders on the board CANNOT enter into negotiations to sell their shareholdings whilst the EXCLUSIVITY AGREEMENT is in place. Tescos insisted on this as a condition of the agreement. From their point of view they could not commit themselves to incur millions of pounds of expenditure on the project (design and planning costs) if there was a possibility of Kenwright and the other majority shareholders selling up to a new owner who may come in and decide that he wants nothing to do with Kirby.
Therefore all this talk of an investor buying the club is nonsense. The fact is that a new owner cannot buy the club whilst the exclusivity agreement exists, unless of course , that new owner agrees to be bound by the terms of the agreement and commits himself to the Kirby project. No-one with a modicum of busines sense would agree to such a condition. Hence the club remains in Kenwright’s control and will do so until the club withdraws from the ageement. With the current state of the credit market it becomes increasingly likely that the club would have no prospect whatsoever of borrowing the £80m or more which will be their contribution to the build costs. So perhaps Kenwright will have no option but to terminate the agreement and the club could then be sold to a new owner.

Anil Ambani has called Bill and yet good old "Blue Bill" hasn't taken it seriously. So all the shite about Everton being up for sale was just more of what were used to from Billy liar.

I used to like Kenwright and have supported him in the past but if we miss out on the proposed takeover because of Bill's greed and his need to be in charge then there will be hell to pay from all Evertonians.

Between this and Kirkby, Bill Kenwright will be the death of Everton Football Club.
