Tales from the bottom of my garden

If the plug is pulled on Kirkby, we can expect an even greater push toward a shared stadium. The current and foreseeable money crisis has seriously dented the Yanks' hopes of raising more leveraged capital. They are in dire financial straits both here and America. An injection of Tesco funds is a way out for them. Whats in it for Tesco?

For starters, it could do it's development over the Goodison and northern end of Stanley Park and still be within the Kirkby / South Lancs catchment. Everton's share of costs would come from selling Goodison to Tesco plus a LCC donation of that part of Stanley Park not already ceded to LFC. There could also be some government grants available.

What about the Arabs? They are on the sidelines waiting for the inevitable financial collapse of Hicks and Gillett. In any case, the Arabs, devoid of parochial nonsense, would also favour a shared stadium.

Plans to regenerate Kirkby could be permanently shelved and everyone would live happily ever after.

If we can afford a shared stadium at a cost of £200 million, why don’t we just redevelop Goodison? Then we could live happily ever after not having to share with that shower of shite across the park.

Dont worry, I can hear Anil Ambani arriving with his army of steel workers ready to build us the worlds greatest super stadium as we speak!

A Ground share is only back on the agenda because Liverpool cant afford their own.

Share with Liverpool -NEVER.

I would rather play in Kirkby town hall than share with them

A shared stadium is stil very much on the cards, especially with the credit crunch. The deputy prime minister wants it the North West Development Agency wants it and Yes EFC would jump at it, if they could find some money.
It will be interesting to see how KEIOC along with Trever Skempton and Tom Hughes get on with Elstone next week ?????

Get this straight: Liverpool wouldn?t share a Twix with Everton, never mind a stadium. They consider us the infidel and inferior in every way. Listen to Rick Parry, he?d rather rub Fiery Jack on his piles than groundshare with Everton. Their financial problems over stadium construction costs, however, shows exactly why Everton's Kirkby project is so inviting, regardless of location and personal feelings

Kirkby may sound inviting Martin, but it wont happen for a variety of reasons. I would suggest the biggest one will be the moment EFC have to find some money. We know LFC dont want to share but there may come a day when they need us to throw what little cash we have behind the scheme. There is also Political will gathering pace which can be a powerful tool.

Shared stadium makes sense to me.

I?m from Liverpool, I?ve lived here all my life, but the way some people talk about the reds, to me, is just ridiculous. Lots of my best friends support Liverpool and they?re pretty great guys (not ?shite?, nor some ?terrorist cell?); absolute nonsense.

I?ll probably get torn into for this reply; but get things into perspective boy. It?s a game.

I've just been reading Football365.com and it seems the Barcodes are presently in touch with 8 prospective buyers. Thats 8 Fucking buyers! and we can't get one, not even a sniff. Something really fucking stinks at Goodison. Surely, we can't be that undesireable.
