It appears that the lazy journo's have tired of the Lescott story (and moved on to John Terry) which caused so much reaction on the several Everton websites I regularly visit, this one as my primary fix.
I find it amazing how the feelings, even towards Lescott, ranged from one extreme to another, with some of our own supporters actually slagging him. It's easy with hindsight, and I don't know for sure whether the Lescott story has run it's course, but did anyone else feel it ridiculous with even our own supporters having a go at him for not releasing some sort of statement of loyalty?
I just wonder (and doubt) if anyone at Man City had even spoken to anyone at Everton about buying Joleon (I hope that's the case anyway) and I now wonder the same about Man City and Chelsea.
I'm also wondering whether it's the "same ole same ole" with regard to Scholes as I just can't see David Moyes fancying him myself, unless it's part of some master plan we don't understand and appreciate.
I'm determined not to get dragged into the panic and delirium of the transfer window and am just going to "wait and see."

This time it was missing. However, I’m not saying that definitively means anything. Simply pointing out the facts.
Thankfully in this case we have been spared the hype that surrounded signings of similar young players like Scott Spencer and Luke Jutkiewicz in the past. He just a member of the senior academy players who may get to play for the reserves. If he’s any good, he’ll progress; if he’s not...
It’s like? a new signing.
Other than that hold on to your hats (or your arses) as the craziness of the "Transfer season" is underway.
Don’t panic there’s a month to go before the new season starts --- AAAAAAAAAHHHHH.
Michael Kenrick - when Femi Oneruga (not sure of spelling) signed, it made a ’major’ article on this site - didn’t see anything about Garbutt except in the ’minor’ articles down the side.
Does this just reflect a change in policy by ToffeeWeb not to overplay the signing of players at academy level?
Similarly, there were no major news stories on the OS about Garbutt signing for the club (except to say he had graduated from the academy) - but Oneruga (sp.) meritted an article to himself.
I wondered why this was when I noticed it, also.
I know that Jo is not to everyone’s liking but I think he did an excellent job for us last year, especially playing as a target man. With a full pre-season under his belt this time out he could well be even better. It will be fingers crossed from me on this one.
You really do have to wonder about "fans" who go on to a forum and slag off one of our best players at the drop of another speculative tabloid hat, simply because our player doesn’t seek out another tabloid journalist to emphatically deny something which hasn’t happened.
One bloke even came on here musing on whether Lescott was aware of the distress he was causing (some) Evertonians through his heartless actions in not breaking from his holiday to deny transfer rumours. Poor chap sounded like he needed medication.
Lescott may still go, and frankly if someone was stupid enough to offer me an extra £2m a year basic then I’d probably go too. Hypocrisy, along with myopia, fickleness and occasional delusion are the most common ailments of football fans.
If we are honest and fair then, should Lescott go, he should get a fantastic ovation on his return, firstly for playing his bollocks off for Everton every game, and secondly to show him just what he’s left behind. There would be no greater demonstration of what Everton is all about, IMHO.
Please NO Paul Scholes, he’s way too slow now......Watch This Space.
On that subject, Good News — looks like Newcastle have found a buyer... Christ, they even got relegated.
There — I’ve broken my pledge already and listened to a pressman!!!!!
The Mail are running the Jo story...
I see him as stop gap at the best, but a body none the less were we don’t have enough. More bite and nouse than Neville, though the legs of the true box to box MF he was are not there. Could be Carsley Mk 2.
FInally something I can get on board with... showing integrity, restraint and appreciation if warranted — whenever ex-players come back.
