Silly Season and I'm bored

Comments (8)

I want a signing. A midfielder. Jo... yeah alright... IF he comes. By the way, why does no one think he's good? He looked good to me. He's got a killer shot. Who cares if he's just alright at everything else, the Yak is the same. But they both have killer shots. So much so that when he got open in the box... I thought, it's a goal and it usually was.

Moving on. Let's get a midfielder. Some £10 million player. Make him fast, with good feet. I could list about 20 players with those qualifications but I don't feel like it. I'm sure the comments will take care of that. But seriously, it just seemed obvious all season that we needed that.

And I'm tired of the rumors. I get excited, about this guy, that guy, we made a bid, it failed... blah blah blah. I wish the off-season was just that. Then I could do something else with my time. Read a book or something.

Finally, we shouldn't sell Lescott, we honestly need maybe two, good players and — injuries being kinder — we have a good squad that with some miracles could break the top 4. Even three more players on top of that wouldn't change much. Fix the right side of the field and we've got a B+ team. I'm good with that.

Joey, how on god's green earth can you compare Jo to Yakubu? They are not the same.

"Jo... He’s got a killer shot."

Debatable.

Joey, by and large I think Jo is definitely worth a shot. Reason? I think with a full Moyes/Everton pre-season preparation, we may see a vastle improved player. He wasn’t that bad last year, on loan, with hardly any PL games under his belt.

I just hope if he does come good that we’ve negotiated an option to buy at a sensible figure.

Howard I can’t help thinking that ’reserving judgement' is a matter of infinite hope. I do however hope to the flying spaghetti monster that you’re right.. and I’m wrong on Jo.

I would like to see us sign your man Berg. He looked decent in the U-21s and fits the Moyes-type player.

Also, what is Arturo Lupoli at these days? Went to see Derby play a few times when he was with them and he was decent. Didn’t he go to Fiorentina? Is he getting in there?

Lupoli spent the end of last season not getting into the Sheff United team so I wouldn’t get too excited about him. I don’t think we need new strikers, we need to get the ones we have got fit. We play one up front and if we sign Jo we’ll have 5 players to play there.

We need midfielders, at least two of them. At least the latest rumours are looking up, don’t know much about Defour but the descriptions make him sound like the right type, and Tuncay would be good if he’s happy to be a permanent right sided player.

When will you numpties learn that we are never going to sign a "big" player... we haven’t got the money to pay huge transfer fees and we haven’t got the money to pay over-the-top wages.

Yea, it was the same story last year... but I don't think Moyesy is at fault, I just don't think we have the funds to splash around. We really need to strengthen the midfield. I really like this Delph boy at Leeds, I've seen him play a few times last season and I think he's only gonna get better and better.

I know we have been linked with him lately but I think the asking price is a little too high for a 1st Division player. Come on, Everton, make some moves so we can blood them in to the squad for the pre-season friendlies.
