The Enigma that is M'Bia

Comments (14)

Just trawling through the news and trying to catch up.. If Sky Sports website is anything to go by they are reporting that M'Bia's move to Marseille has hit a snag. The snag being? Personal terms. Suprise suprise (you don't need Cilla for this one)... but hold on, it gets better: he is now on his way to England to talk to a greater financial and footballing powerhouse. You guessed it: STOKE CITY!! (Maybe not)

Again, if this all plays out to be true, what does this tell you about this lad's character? Why hadn't Moyes wafted the very scent of him away from the scenes of Goodison when he lingered once again this summer like a bad smell?

Jesus... I mean does this guy have no moral standing? He is willing to hold up his deal with Marseille (whom he had previously professed his love onto!) to the dwellings of Stoke over a few thousand pounds? The same M'Bia 'it is my dream to play on the best stage in Europe, the Champions League' now finds himself playing in the lower tiers of the Premier League to pander his financial cravings.

Personally I cannot wait for this story to come to an end, it is almost as irritating as the Ronaldo saga has been for two years and he is nowhere near his footballing level!

On a side note, I hope he doesn't realise the British Tax System taxes footballers at a higher rate! He'll soon run back to Marseille or Rennes cap in hand.

Mercenary, Mr Moyes — and I hope for our Club's spirits' sake we are not reducing ourselves to throwing our hat firmly back into the ring for this style of 'player'.

The guy’s a complete nin-com-poop.
Spell check anyone?
Never should this guy play for Everton.

I agree completely Sean. Whoever he ends up playing for, I hope Phil Neville finds another one of those tackles for him! Although we are trusting media sources for this information, which is never wise. Apparently we have already had an accepted bid for him and there were even reports he had already signed. I think if the truth was known, I would guess that Marseille might have just done some research and decided they didn’t need such attitudes at they’re club, hence the signing of Edouard Cisse.

Basically I think this guy needs better advisors and agents, they must be telling him he is Patrick Viera, personally I think he is on the Alex Nyarko level.

The guy is trouble, we shouldn’t touch him with a barge pole.

Or maybe he’s an ok kind of guy and his agents are just trying to get him the best deal possible? If he signs for us and does well, I’ll bet it doesn't take long before he’s elevated to "great bloke, honorary Evertonian" status.

I think these days it's the agents who do the public talking and the players are told to keep out of it! I bet Rooney's version of events is very different to the public view.

Reading this in the paper, in a cafe this morning caused quite a stir as I laughed out loud. It was almost as funny as Rafa crying over his lack of money this summer & Gareth Barry blowing him out.

I mean M’bia turns a potential £9 mil’ move to us down as he wants a BIG club & then discusses terms on a £6 mil’ move to the MIGHTY STOKE! His bosses at Rennes must fucking love this guy, he’s just lost 'em £3 mil’.

I used to think I knew what ’Enigma’ meant but it’s obviously changed to: ’Mercenary, money grabbing moron’.

Obviously this is just press talk, right?

We don’t really know what is going on at Marseille... and Stoke City, do me a favour..... I would be very surprised to see Stoke City shell out £10 million for one player, let alone a defensive midfielder, makes no sense at all.

Yet more mercenary bastards.

God I hate footballers.

Thankfully it’s been nothing but press talk as yet again there has been no mention at all from the OS or any quotes directly attributable to DM.

Give the lad a break, after all he has constantly stated that it was his ’childhood dream’ to play for The Potters.... and Marseille, Arsenal, Everton and who ever fucking else he cares to reel off the list. He’s got a big family to feed though, you have got to moonlight these days.

You’re right Ismael, I remember the last time we were supposed to be in for him he said that he needed to move for more money to "feed his family". I thought, "He must be on ten grand a week... how big’s his fucking family!"

On the topic of another player just announced, we have permission to speak to Naughton from Sheff Utd... is he any good?

Haha well according to teamtalk.com today, he’s come to England to talk to two clubs and there’s no mention of the deal with Marseille falling through. All M’Bia and his agent are doing are trying to broker the best deal the greedy bastards!

I for one think he’s a good player and someone we need in the holding midfield role but the way he’s been acting lately has changed my mind about him. Yeah, he’s good player, but a dick of a person. I don't care how good he is, we should stay well clear of him from now on.

Fair enough, players always get several clubs after them but don't shout your mouth off and say you want to join this club and then say your heart's set on another club and then say it's your dream to play for another... just keep quiet and go to the club that feels right for you.

If we’d of gone in for him and he kept quiet and chose whichever club for footballing reasons, then I’d've accepted that but cos he’s gobbed off once different clubs have come in then fuck him!

Other than swapping the word "enigma" for "idiot", I thoroughly agree — let’s give him wide berth.
