Gyan link...

Comments (12)

From the reporting of Sky Sports News (so it must be true!), Gyan is interested but is concentrating on an injury-free season in France.

I reckon this has got to be a cert, because just what we need is another injury prone striker! Watch this space...

Who needs the actual season to start when silly season is so much more fun?? (Think I may need to stop drinking now..?)

Injury-prone players? Too funny......at this rate we’ll soon be bidding for Yakubu, Arteta, Saha, Anichebe, Jagielka....oh....we already have them!

Martin I know you were being sarcastic but to be a pendant, only Saha is injury prone out of that list of 5, 3 have suffered major injuries and the other.... well, who cares?

Well, Moyes does have form for signing players who’ve had serious injury problems... ’Lazarus’ signings if you like.

I suppose when you’ve little money it would seem like a shrewd way to get decent players for cheap; unfortunately it rarely yields results.

First put this on after we where linked to Martins from Newcastle. Since then at least another 300 rumours have started.

Ode to a Rumour

There’s many a story and tale to be spun
Now that the silly season’s begun

A guy at a chippie definately saw
Micah Richards at Goodisons door

Then it Must be part of the Lescott bill
Richards and Jo with a cool 15mil

We’re definitely signing Bent andTuncay
We’ve even made a bid for Jacko’s monkey

Moutinho, Ledley then of course Vagner Love
We’ve already signed all the above

Crouchy and Kranjar Janko and Fanni
Bangoura, Vertonghen, Marcellis, Kuranyi.

Rosina and Delph and some bloke called Chuka
Must admit I’ve never heard of that...............person

All these signing like saviours from heaven,
When next season starts we’ll have a new first eleven

So we might as well sell Arteta and Tim
Yakubu and Bainsey there’s no place for him.

Howard and Yobo can pack their bags
So long to Pienaar, Hibbert and Jags

The price so far has reached a cool hundred mill.
Just small change for Robbie and Bill.

So next time someone tells ya Gyan’s signing tonight.
Take it from me its complete Bullshite.

Does anyone know how ESPN will work? Will there be a new channel somehere on Sky?

The only ESPN we have currently is ESPN classic

The situation is this Brian. espn will set up a new channel to begin broadcasting in the UK. Scheduled date for launch is on or around the 09th of August. It will run pretty much the same way as Setanta did, with a £9.99 monthly fee to view the channel. They will also have a HD Channel available for those of you with the snazzy sky boxes!

ESPN’s match coverage will come from Sky Sports and they will provide their own commentary teams etc. Hopefully they can get James Richardson on board. From what I can make out we are scheduled to be on ESPN only twice pre Christmas so it may be more lucrative to watch these in the pub unless you enjoy watching Utd play every week.

Hope that answers the question mate

It could be related to the continued quest for squad inprovement.
Looks like the Blades have accepted a bid for Kyle Naughton from Everton.

Chris (nice name!) - thanks for the info. really useful.

James Richardson - yes. Steve McManaman - no

I won’t be getting it as if I’m not actually going the game itself, I can use it as an excuse to watch in the pub! Happy days!

Suzy, there was no real point to the post. I suppose I was just having a pedantic moment during the off season and felt like making a little joke out of another rumour.

On the positive side, it’s good to see some transfer action by us so soon after the window has opened.
