Bury - My observations

First off thank god for some Football. Cricket and Tennis just aren't well.... Cricket. I know we can't read too much into last night's result but I though I'd post what I took from the game.
- Turner is not a very commanding goalkeeper.
- Tony Hibbert will never be comfortable on the ball.
- Leon Osman is an anonymous presence.
- Dan Gosling uses the ball well from central area's as does Wallace
- Jo has got a lot of work to do this pre-season.
- Jose Baxter,Hope Akpan etc have got a lot of promise but aren't ready for serious first team action.
- Seamus coleman is fast
- Bury stewards are slow off the mark!!!

I was there too. Thought Nash looked okay as our back-up keeper. First half we were well in control without creating too much. Second half we lacked cohesion which is not surprising given the new faces and the fact they’d been focusing on fitness during the week. Certainly signs of promise from the youngsters and no particular reason to single out Tony or Leon (who was anonymous to be fair) for comment, but I guess this is ToffeeWeb... As for our flag stealing and pitch invading fans?Amusing in small doses, a touch boring when numbers start jumping on the bandwagon.
I was very impressed by the solid performance from Shane Duffy (No 4 with black hair); he read the game well and timed his tackles perfectly. Also James Wallace looked comfortable in posession and skilful while Shkodran Mustafi and Anton Peterlin looked solid when they came on in the second half with Mustafi looking like a fairly dependable centre-half and Peterlin comfortable on the ball.
Can I please ask, those of you who watched, what was the formation in the second half? I noticed there was 4 forwards on (Lukas, Jo, Agard and Hope).
Jo and Agard up front — Agard, lots of bluster, but did turn his man a couple of times and has a strong shot. Lukas just behind front two and Akpan in midfield, dropping back to centre-back right at the end.
Can anyone provide more details of any of the young players' performance in the game. Was there any who stood out, how did the American get on when he got the chance?
It was only against Bury — but for what it’s worth: Seamus Coleman has pace to burn and was comfortable at left & right back. Duffy was OK at centre-back at talked a lot and organised them. >Wallace was comfortable on the ball. Peterlin looked ok and used the ball well — but seemed to tire quickly. Mustafi seems a bit small for a centre-back!
