I’ve only heard of 3 of those players. Any idea if any of them are any good?

Also, why is Beckham not involved?

Having a vested interst in the MLS, I can answer that Matthew.

Beckham isn’t involved dues to his lack of commitment and therefore was not voted for. The whole wanting to go to AC Milan didn’t endear him to the MLS and its fans. Even though they say it's about stats, they really put forward all of the players and let the people vote.

Landon Donovan obviously is good.

Barros Schelotto is another decent player skillful midfielder.

De Rosario is a stalwart who can score goals given the chance. Physical player.

Charlie Joeseph is a good player also.

It's a good team; there are better players in the MLS but these lads deserve their place.

There's still a load more players to be named, five by the manager and two by the league commissioner. Word is the commissioner will include Beckham in the squad — you’d hope so too, the amount they're paying him!

I’ve taken a liking to the MLS recently and this is what I’ve come up with about the squad.

Kasey Keller: Many caps for the USA, Howard knocked him off his pedistool in a way.

Geoff Cameron: Big tough tackling midfielder can also play in defense and even as a target man (stands at 6 foot 3)

Chad Marshall: Just a player you look at and can tell is class, a good CB strong in the air, also a tough tackler.

Wilmen Conde: Don’t know much about him, a strong defender from memory.

Sharlie Joseph: Another classy defender, usually a full-back.

Barros Schelotto: A player that’s good on the ball, can be dangerous if given space, very creative.

Dwayne De Rosario: Good player, international experience with Canada, goal scoring midfielder.

Stuart Holden: Never heard of him.

Freddie Ljungberg: We know about Freddie.. just a couple of years older...

Landon Donovan: Best player in the team, still youngish and has played around 100 caps for the USA, scoring many goals.

Connor Casey: Decent striker, has had experience in Germany, can stick a ball in the back of the net.

I read somewhere that no Prem team that has played the MLS All-Stars has ever beaten them. Is this true? It would be a nice feather in our cap.

Quick points:

Shalrie Joseph is a midfield destroyer and offensive threat both.

Stuart Holden scored for the US Under-23 Olympic Team in China, and has 2 goals in 2 caps for the senior team as the #10 in midfield.

Derosario has been replaced by Mexican legend Blanco.

Yes, look for Beckham to be added, as well as Juan Pablo Angel and Brian McBride...

Schelotto, the former Boca Juniors No.7 schemer? Who needs Moutinho? Sign this player now!

Schelloto has been the best player in MLS since he arrived 2 years ago, leading Columbus to the title. Apparently Argentine clubs are trying to woo him back, but he prefers the anonymity he and his family enjoy in the States. He’s basically been everything Beckham hasn’t: low-key, committed, vastly productive, and happy. As an American I’d hate to lose him; as an Everton fan I’d steal him away in a second.

Well I hope Moyes is taking this game with a view of making a few purchases. Schelloto would be ace, and we have an unoccupied No.7 shirt tailored for him.

Barros Schelotto may well have been the best player in MLS last season. He is also 36 years old. Or about twice the age of the ideal Moyes signing.
