Why is Moyes any different?

Comments (11)

When Moyes was offered a new contract, and we had all the "I'll be signing it tomorrow"... tomorrow came, and no signature. Then it was "I'll be signing it next week" and still nothing. We had people stating that it had nothing to do with money, but he wanted to be reassured by BK that he would have transfer money available to him.

Now whether Moyes deserved the bumper pay-day (I acctually now think he did) is another thing, but why couldn't it have just have been what it is always about, the money? It just gets a tad embarrassing, when we have people trying to make him out as this whiter than white messiah.

At the end of the day (in my opinion) for me, it was always about the money.

Er... am I missing something? What a strange post. You're about a year behind the times, methinks... Or is this a waif and stray from the Lescott thread???

I think we should be told, Brian!

Brian,
Where are you getting these quotes from? I remembering him saying words to the effect of ’hopefully in the next few day’ but not anything like as committal as what you are suggesting. Lets get back to pretending Lescott is not going to eventually move to City should we?

Michael,
Please can i have my name posted in extra special blue also?

Love Suzy xx

Sorry Brian, can you advise what the point of the posts is.

Are you trying to suggest that Lescott is the same as Moyes if he goes for a big money deal?

Or that, God Forbid, we should me slating Moyes even more than usual because he’s so greedy?

Look lads, this isen’t having a dig at Moyes or Lescott. I actually think Moyes deserved every penny of it, especially for what he did last season, and for what he has to work with.

It came from a conversation with a fellow blue this morning, who was going on about Moyes being the only manager in the prem who has any integrity, and it is never about the money with him. We got onto his contract stalling, and he wouldn’t have it ( when I suggested ) that it was about ( in my opinion ) the money.

Maybe it’s a bit of a rant, but it just gets annoying when no-one can see any fault in anything the man does.

I guess Brian is saying that if it’s OK for Davey to hold out for the money then we should not be too upset if Joleon moves to double his pay.Personally,I accept that they are both in a totally different category to us who live and breathe the club (and in my case prepared to lose a good job over my support of Everton!). However good they both are at the jobs they do -it is just that-a job and they both know their value to their employer.
It’s no secret that I think the world of David Moyes but if BB had not antied up we would probably have lost him.I guess we just have to accept that if Everton cannot match what the Mancs are offering Joleon then we have to let him go.Very sad but that’s the game these days!

Yeah, I do think he deserves it now Tony, but at the time I thought he was taking the piss. Also it’s Brian, or did you mean to spell it Brain?

The worry for me is when City sack Hughes who doesnt seem to know what to do with the money, and offer Davie a nice new pay rise

Brian,

When is it not about the money? If you were offered a similar job to the one you were doing but on more or even double the salary, wouldn’t you take it?

There may be a few minor positive or negative points to consider, but at the end of the day, if there is a huge difference in wages, you would take the money as well.

Forget about money and contracts.... I have always been happy with the quote ’ in moyes we trust’... I still do.. but I’m hoping he make signing now so they can get some pre-season in. The late activity in the market last year cost us a top 4 in my opinion.
