I can't shake outta it, each close season/transfer window is getting worse and worse. All this shit with Lescott at the moment, Man City have shit loads of coin but instead of using it like they should they keep putting shitty bids in for Lescott and hoping that he hands in a transfer request.

All this shit with us been linked with every player in the fucking world and buying.... none of them.... All this shit without ownership. All this shit for Blue Bill's fat and flabby gob... It honestly tipped me over the edge this time.

I've got my rope... now what's the name of that place in Wales again?

Pull yerself together, Sean... we just won the BIGGEST trophy in Soccer! No-one can ever point to our Davey anymore and say he's not a winner! No-one can accuse him of not winning a really massive trophy for Everton. It's impressive. I'm happy. I't's something I've dreamed of for... oh, at least the last seven years! I'm ecstatic!!!

Like you, Sean, I’ve had enough, it’s pure bollocks the lot of it. When we do bid for someone it we never seem to close the deal, sympathy bids I call them. Was in Cyprus all week and guess what, I spent half the time on the internet hoping we would sign somone, I mean I can’t even enjoy my holidays FFS!!! I wish there was a media black out and then, on 31 August, the teams get announced!! Until that day, can I borrow some of your rope?

A usually impeccable source informed me at lunchtime that Lescott WILL be sold in this window but ONLY if the fee is increased to £20M PLUS Jo! Now that sounds pretty good business to me — always providing a replacement can be obtained post haste!

As we prepare ourselves for the inevitable, what do others think of such a deal?

"Linked with every player in the fucking world and buying.... none of them". Well, who’s linking us with them? Do you really believe Moyes wants ever player we read about? He will know how limited his funds are. Judging by previous seasons, he would be happy to buy 4 prem players.

As I said before, a person (friend at the Arse who works in finance) claims they have made 1 offer and two enquires pending, but have been linked with at least 16 players.

Streuth... that’s a load of shits for one post... forget the rope and buy some wet-wipes!

Not buying players is (in a way a good thing). It means that Moyes is refusing to panic-buy the Ledleys, and Hunts of this world. We are going to bring in someone eventually. Rodwell and Baxter are also going to play a huge role for us this season.

My only concern is the thought of us buying another over-rated player like Fellaini who is slowly becoming the proverbial ’white elephant.’ We need a world-class right-back and pacy winger and that is in essence (barring Lescott’s replacement) all we need!

Robert, If Man City buy him then I can’t see it being on HP.

Richard, this source of yours has been right about who previously?

Michael, having been on the stadium tour I’m not sure the trophy cabinet will fit this All-Star cup!!

Finally, to Sean, don’t worry too much as we’re getting near actually playing a competitive game so all this shit will be forgotton...

Nope, not me. I’m totally chilled about it all. It's the same every summer. The press link us with every Tom, Dick and Harry but we always get a couple of decent players from out there in left field and we all fret about nothing. We will finish fifth or sixth again... and will continue to do so unless:

a) we get mega bucks, or
b) the clubs with mega bucks get it taken off them.

We are a good team with a great manager and a limited budget and we are at our true level until the playing field is levelled again. In the meantime, ignore the press and wait until the team returns from tour and Moyes can get behind his desk and on the phone.

Last day "rushed" deals to come.

Richard, hardly a ground breaking revelation I suspect 95% of the contributors here fully expect Lescott to go if the price is right. I’ll open the bidding at £25m rather than sit on the fence with a speculative £20m+ as I think thats what the club are holding out for, without even a whisper from someones cousin’s uncle’s postman.

Michael, who has suggested the win against the MLS All-Stars is the ’biggest trophy in soccer’?

Is your comment directed as a sly dig at David Moyes? Are you being critical of the way this summer has panned out so far?

Is this THE most depressing Everton related web site?

Mr Dodd, That would sound pretty good business to you; however, as you mention, we will need to get a replacement quickly but have you considered that, with our paucity of centre halves, we will need one of equal ability who will be a like-for-like ready-made replacement?

Now, when we go cap-in-hand to purchase said top-class replacement, don’t you think the selling club will have a fee in mind, say, at a rough guess, £20 million?

I think we have to push for Lescott’s value to Everton in the circumstances in which we currently find ourselves — far more than £20 million + Jo. I know you love BK but do you trust him to play hardball when he can see £ signs? He has got form, you know, once famously lending Man Utd £10 million interest free for a year.

Come ’ere, a bit closer... I’ve heard it’s alleged to be reported from an unconfirmed but sometimes a bit reliable, yet unverified source that uncle Bill will probably come back from City with a sad face, £8 million up front, Dickie Dunn and a bag of magic beans.

Richard Dodd, your well placed sources fed you absolute bullshit all of last summer and I think they’re doing the same now. If Everton were selling Lescott and Jo was part of the deal, why did we get him on loan?

Whether we end up selling Lescott or not, you’re spouting your usual crap because Moyes has not made his mind up about Jo yet, hence the year long loan. I heard from a well placed source (Moyes at the Shareholders Forum) that he wouldn’t be selling any of his first team players.

Doddy you lost all your credibility last summer when your "sources" told you to "watch this space" and all the players we were going to sign would make you go "Wow".

Similar bullshit this season with "we have the transfer budget in place" and "we want to get the new players in early this year" promptly changed to "it looks like we’ll be looking for loan players and Bosman’s"

I’m afraid your lifelong hero is approaching the noose.

If I was Moyes, I’d seriously consider getting the best possible deal for Lescott and sell him and use the cash we desperately need on bringing in better quality to our team. On last night's showing, we are going to struggle; even with the injured trio back in the side, we looked shit. I know it's only pre-season but still, we were poor!

We clearly need a new right back and no wonder Moyesy is looking because, all of a sudden, Hibbert as gone seriously downhill; he’s rubbish, and people on here who say we don't need a holding midfield player because we can cope with Neville and Rodwell playing there, seriously need to think again.

Both of 'em was useless last night: not tracking back, mis-placed passing putting us in shit, losing ball time after time, and getting over run and out played by an ageing Ljungberg and some nobody... it was awful to watch.

Cahill was stuck out on right; in his defence, that's not his position but he was put out there so Fellaini could play off Saha but the big Fella was shit last night!

We definitely need a right back, holding midfield player, and a right sided midfielder too, all three positions seriously need improving before the season's start. We can't go in to the new season with the squad we've got, we will struggle big time, Moyesy and the board need to get there fingers out now and sort these problem positions out!

My only reliable source is via a medical unit which players from a number of clubs visit for a procedure following injury - no news so far I’m glad to say.

But I do read the tealeaves to try to work out what goes on in Mystic Moyes’ mind. Richard Dodd’s suggestion that Jo might come into the equation isn’t at all far fetched.

DM is obviously an admirer. The guy is worth many millions on paper and could become unaffordable if he has a good season. OK, we might have a good price on him already, but maybe they wouldn’t give us that. Moyes would have taken him on loan anyway.

My worst fear is that Moyes might see him as a possible replacement for Pienaar working the left with Baines, if Steven packs his bags. In the American games I’ve seen on ETV Jo seems to be a lot more involved than he was in the few games he played last season, and certainly not a lone striker.

Jo is going to develop into a very good player with us, but all the same, we cannot afford to lose people like Joleon and Steven.

Which reminds me — have I missed anything? Why was Steven Pienaar not available for the All-Stars game? Hopefully it was just altitude sickness.

The cynical view is that he has packed his bags. But if that’s the case, Lescott hasn’t because he did play.

Any reliable news anyone?

It is fucking frustrating. We got fuck-all to show for in terms of transfers. I spoke to Steve Round last week when Everton were in Seattle and he echoed how frustrated they were. No Elm, no Cana, no Darfur, no Naughton, no fucking nothing. 2 weeks more till we play Le Arse...

Pienaar picked up a leg injury according to the OS. It seemed very low key, and undetailed. But nevertheless, it stated he was injured.

Whilst our position is not ideal, you have to look at our ’rivals’ down at Villa Park. They have lost Barry, Laursen & Knight and brought in Downing who is out until December. Not to mention the injuries to Petrov, Luke Young and Bouma. So much for having a billionaire owner eh?

It is well known that Davey likes players with a certain attitude. Hard working and team orientated. People have blamed him for dithering over Naughton before pulling out. No offence to the lad but maybe he showed his true colours when he heard that Spurs were offering more money and Davey realised he had a lucky escape.

Same with Rooney, he sees himself as a star not as a member of a team, not a DM player. JLo is a DM type, so don’t be too surprised if he turns down the money to stay where he fits.

My conspiracy theory in regards to Lescott is that he will be going to Citteh in January, they have agreed to give us Jo on loan and will play out the will he/won’t he scenario and when Jags is back he will pack his bags. [There is no actual facts to this, as I have just made it up.]

Thirty one and a bit days left in this window.... Gawd, you could sign three teams up during that length of time! So why is everyone I speak to so pessimistic?

We all know that our CEO (and Blue Bill, if necessary) will play a cagey game over any target Davey nominates. Good businessman that he is, he will first try to knock down the price and when that’s agreed, every effort will be made to minimise the down payment and string out the installments. When that’s all done, it will be down to Davey to sell the club and keep salary demands within sensible parameters.

Then there’s the deal for the agents — player’s and clubs’. All this takes time, so don’t get trapped into thinking nothing is going on. As BB — as shrewd an operator that he is — has said many times, "Some you win and some you lose" — but they’ll have a few good signings made a month from today, believe me — even if it is on the stroke of midnight! And just think of all the wages saved by not doing business in June!
That’s the Everton way!
