Socceroos v Oman

Comments (5)

Cahill and Neill despite not doing anything spectacular each put in a good yet hard working shift in a 1-0 win over Oman in a crucial Asian Cup qualifier. Lucas had two good shots at goal but the winner was scored by Tim, right-footed from a long cross that eluded everyone else. Both players seemed not to have sustained injury.

Dick, Thanks for the Info, hope you enjoyed the game?
Mind you having two lads involved, does help.
And coming home with out knocks, would be a bonus.

Jeez Dick - I read it as Sox vs Osman! Not them as well, I thought.

You know we get a bit precious about Timmy’s travels and the possibility of injury, especially for ’friendlies’, but another great show from the man.

Lucas Neill almost certainly needs a match or two, so good news there. The way he is used by Moyes over the next month or so is a bit of a puzzle at the moment. Let’s hope it works out very well for the player and the club — which is what I’m sure both want.

Thanks Dick, good to hear the boys got their matches out of the way and unscathed. I do realise that the Aussie opposition isn’t the greatest in the world, but 18 goals in 36 matches is still one hell of a strike record for Tim — considering his height and his position in the starting line-up!

Tim Cahill, might not be the most all rounded player in the world but I’d happily have him in any team of mine.

He was called Mr Invisible last night. He just has that special knack of not being picked up by defenders.

Good to see Timmy back amongst the goals and I reckon we’ll see more of Neill once the ACN comes back in the New Year. He’ll be needed then.
