Norwegian Blues!! Where are you ?

Just picked up the Norwegian Supporters Union handbook for British Football, and was gobsmacked to read the members count per 31 May 2009.

Of a total of 93,623 members, nearly half (40,092) are United fans, 33,241 Liverpool fans... which left just 20,290 fans shared between the other 47 teams represented.

Everton came in at 13th (behind Derby County and Notts Forest) with an astounding 330 members... but what really got me was our total in 2008 was 1076, we actually lost 746 fans somewhere — why and where the hell have they gone...? Not to Southampton anyway who came bottom with a grand total of 2!!!

It doesn’t surprise me in the least - in fact you answer part of the reason yourself. Derby and Notts F both won a European Cup therefore would have gained glory-hunting fans - or "mutants" would be a more suitable term for them. Probably find at that time of their success there were zero Utd and Shite supporters but thousands of Forest and Derby "followers".
Just goes to show that Labby was a bit out with his numbers......."Never forget lads, one Evertonian is worth 100 Liverpudlians" (or 120 Mancunians for that matter)!

I’m absolutely disgusted with both Tony’s original piece and Gerry’s response!
It’s not Notts. - it’s Nottingham Forest. Not to be confused with Notts. (i.e. NottinghamSHIRE) County.
I reckon even a Norwegian would get that right !!

What a random post. Maybe they could not be bothered to register, but it won’t keep me awake wondering.

Even more bizarre is Gerry Quinn’s assertion that Derby Co won the European Cup and Dennis Stevens disgust that Nottingham Forest were called Notts Forest.

I think everybody is on some sort of drugs to black out today’s result and to chill out before another Tony Marsh rant arrives on the Fans Articles page followed by around 100 posters arguing with each other. :)
