A diamond in the rough

I'm getting deja vu reading a lot of posts on here lately as I think the vast majority of people are pretty low with anything concerning EFC! And rightly so, I might add. However, I did want to post something positive after the Bolton game so although it's a bit belated here it is.
One Everton player this season has performed very admirably and I don't think we could have predicted what a joy to watch he has been. I think he is also the victim of currently playing in a very poor team. If results were good everyone would be singing his praises. Sadly they are not and the style of play is dire so he gets overlooked.
I am of course talking about Louis Saha. The goal against Bolton was sheer class and one of the best I have seen from an Everton player since, well.... probably Arteta's against Bolton too.
I really hope he continues injury free until the end of the season and gets to the 20-goal mark... which is some achievement playing in this team!

Wholeheartedly agree. Sheer class. Must be close to playing the best football of his career. And beautiful outside the box. I thought he was beginning to build a nice understanding with Bily.
I would suspect that quality players need to feel that there are other folks on the team that share both their vision and ability. I don’t think we have any players like that in midfield at the moment.
Rodwell is a great prospect, but I just don’t see how he is a creative player. Also worried what kind of toll these injuries and run of results are having on the team.
Oops, seems I have drifted from the positive back into the negative. We need a Blackburn result. We need to demolish a team AND keep a clear sheet. The latter is an absolute priority. I’d imagine any team looks at us at the moment and fancies scoring goals against us.
All he had to do was take it with his back to goal 50 yards out, shimmy past a couple of men and put the ball into the far corner from 25yards... Lucas Neil put it on a plate for him.
Saha sheer class... obviously the majestic Hibbert is in same class as Saha and does not need replacing.

Quite possibly the kiss of death. I read from an article on TW that the brilliant Saha has a calf injury and not be available for Villa.
Some more good news. It seems Bily, Baines, Pienaar and Yobo might be fit.
I aggree with whats said however, Don’t want to be a kill joy but injury update he’s out again..Hope it’s not for long but with our luck at the moment who knows.. Why oh why do we have these injury problems... Bring back les helm..lol.
Superb player... can’t rate him highly enough... all tied together with the fact that we’re actually getting him on the pitch.
Complete agreement. A fit Saha is is in the top 5 strikers in the Premier League. It is unfortunate he is currently playing in a team with so many problems. We have all said many times in recent weeks that when Yaks, Arteta, Peanuts and Jags are all match fit again then we may really start getting some positive results... but just when some players come back, others go down.
When fit and on his game he is quite unplayable. He would be one of those players people hate playing against. I must admit when the alleged £8m offer came in from Turkey (cant remember Fenebache or Besiktas maybe) i thought that given his injury record we maybe should cash in but so far this season he has probably been our best player. Certainly the biggest goal threat, and that strike vs Bolton was sheer class!
