This is one of those games where one team has all the chances but fails to score then regrets it when the other team scores out of nothing.

The worrying thing is that after 5 wins on the trot Birmingham’s confidence will be sky high. Their equaliser will only increase their confidence.

Everton on the other hand haven’t won at home since September. Will that start to play on the players mind? How much has the equaliser dented our fragile confidence?

Has anyone else noticed that Everton never do anything easy?

Wolves and Portsmouth have won with Wigan and Bolton playing each other today we can expect one of them to win as well.

Its getting very tight down here at the bottom. We simply must beat Birmingham.

Come on you blues.

Ashley, Fair point I wasn’t suggesting they hadn’t shown some spirit so far (although I accept that’s how my post might have come across) just that they needed to show some more.

I should point out that I wasn’t one of those on here on Friday criticising the limitations of the young players. I want Everton to do well as much as anyone.

Michael,
one thing in the last few games we can't say about these lads is they lack spirit, they have shown loads, specially to get a 3-3 draw at Chelsea.

Don't get me wrong, I get frustrated too, and I want Everton to win every game, but we seem to be heading in the right direction so far....

And dare I say, and I'm sure I will be shot, Osman seems to be playing well so far...

The problem is that although it was the young players against Bate it was still Everton and yet another loss for Everton.

Ashley,
Just to reiterate, the spirit has been good for the last few games, we’re just lacking a solid defence — six goals in less than 2½ games is not a good return, is it?

Had to battle back against Chelsea and Spurs and can’t hold out Brum. Let’s face it, that was a shite goal to concede. OK so we should be two up (Saha never offside) but now we’re back to square one.

Criminal result. Only ourselves to blame though for being piss poor in front of goal.

This makes no fucking sense. We’re banging long balls into the box - yet Cahill and Fellaini are playing in the centre circle. Someone use their fucking brain can they?

Everton 1 - 1 Birmingham

Fucking awful result.

Fuck David Moyes.

Fuck those shitty players.

I’m off to try and forget Everton. I’m going to spend the next week ignoring all things blue and try to enjoy my Christmas before Sunderland beat us on Boxing Day and ruin it.

Fuckin useless wankers.

Garbage that. We need a miracle this season to survive. There are no rose tinted glasses with the "we created a load of chances" brigade. Goals win games and we dont score enough. Bottom line, we’re shit.

Cost me a fucking long odds multibet as well that.

Brilliant for 20 minutes... then lost their bottle... the less said about the last 20 the better.

I am so rueing that disallowed Saha goal.

Played well, but no killer instinct.

Jesus Ste get a grip. We need a miracle to survive? Really? We just completely dominated that game against a side in the top 10 unbeaten in 5.

FFS we’re a good team we’re just low on confidence and form. That’s why we don’t have that killer instinct at the moment.

To claim we need a miracle to survive is laughable.

No killer instinct? It was there against Spurs and Chelsea when we converted the few chances we had. Well, even I now accept we are fighting relegation. And this year, 40pts may not be enough.

This season has been a complete and utter shambles. This is supposed to be the best side we have had in years. Where has the passion and commitment gone?

We do not need a miracle. We just need the other shittier teams than us to be more shittier. Sorry for being so technical.

Dick, having disagreed with your last post, "getting scary", I’m now in full agreement with you. I don’t just think we’re in a relegation fight, I think we’re going down. This game was the one to show we’ve turned the corner having come back against Tottenham and Chelsea. We’ve turned no corners, we just continue to slide downwards.

Even though we’ve attacked more today we were still totally ineffective. 19 shots on goal and 1 goal, nice one Moyes.

Geoff, I honestly cant see where our next points are coming from. All the other shit teams are pulling results out and we cant even win at home.

I agree that this season has been a shambles and as ive previously stated I wont accept ’injuries’ as the core reason. Moyes is the core reason... clueless... fucking clueless

Wake up son.

Its Christmas and Everton are a point from the relegation zone.

We haven’t won at home since fucking September.

Take a long hard look at the upcoming fixtures and its almost impossible to us winning 3 games before March.

For awhile now people have been saying if Everton aren’t careful they could be involved in the relegation scrap.

Well that time has come and gone. We are in the relegation fight and I hate to say it but we are in serious trouble.

"19 shots on goal and 1 goal, nice one Moyes".

How is that Moyes’s fault? is he supposed to get out on the pitch and convert the chances himself?

Its time for these players to show some pride. I care little for Birminghams form. They were absolutely shocking. Even with our injuries we should beat these.

Geoff Edwards, It's not impossible for us to win anygame but you have to look at it realisitically and accept that Sunderland are very good at home and we will ’probably’ come away from that game empty handed.

It's possible we could beat Burnley and Man City at home but at best thats two wins over the next two months.

Chances are we wont get more then the odd point from the games against Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs.

I made the point earlier in the week (Getting Scary) and this awful result against Birmingham has only confirmed my worst fears.

Geoff, don’t be a dick, hey? This is Moyes’s squad and Moyes’s team. He’s 8th in the spending league. He’s outspent the likes of Birmingham, Wolves, Stoke and Burnley yet we’re sat lower than all of these teams after half the season.

The thing is, we’ll get to see where your misplaced optimism gets us because Moyes is going nowhere. This is as shit as we’ve ever been yet there are far too many Evertonians that are unwilling to accept it.
