I’m still wondering if we will dump Jo back to City. Obviously Saha is injured Michael, I’m sure Moysie would have had him in the team if he’d been fit
Not sure I feel confident with the Yak on his own up there

I recently predicted we would attack Spurs, not because Moyes had suddenly changed his philosophy on how the game should be played, but because of the type of player he had available to chose from on the day. Somebody - I think it was Brian Waring - called it more accurately saying, yes we would attack, but in true Moye sfashion, only after we have gone behind.

As ever on Match day, I`m up as early as your kids on Christmas and looking forward to the game, Lyndon reports in his preview that Burnley may be without their preferred central defensive partnership... What an opportunity!

I`ve felt recently there has been very definite signs of improvement in our play and I think sooner or later we are due a very handsome win.

Come on Moysee, its Christmas..ish let the dogs of the lead. tell the boys to go out and entertain the bank holiday crowd, lets attack with style and imagination, lets put an end to this misery.

Let's blow someone away

The OS is stum on Saha only disclosing that he will not be "involved". Do they know something we don’t?

Against Chelsea albeit Moyes hand was forced we played 4 4 2 and scored 3 goals, since then he has reverted back to 4 5 1 and only managed 1 goal a game, c’mon Moyes wake up and smell the coffee!!!

The Beep say Saha is injured. That’s a bit more than the OS. Before learning of Saha’s absence, I predicted that we’d clobber Burnley and unleash all the frustration we’ve been feeling for many games and turning that into goals. Now I’m not so sure anymore. Yak, I’m wearing your shirt right now so a hattrick please!

Saha has hamstring strain and JO a knock to the knee and ankle. He costs the club nothing, by the way, wages and agents fees plus money due to CSKA from City as prt of their deal are all met by City as part of Lescott deal...so ignore speculation elsewhere on ths site. COYB

A couple of massive last ditch challenges from us in that half. It could be a lot worse, the glass is half full, we are doing enough to get a goal... just pray one brings two.

Sometimes I wish Pienaar would let go from the edge of the box, he's scored some class goals from that area.

All the results went our way today and by some Xmas miracle it looks like we’ll finish the year 11th. Results all season have shown that this is one of the most tightly contested top divisions in many a year. Wenger predicted, quite rightly so I think, that it will be the lowest winning total ever.

Raise your eyes up for the 2nd half of the season. Confidence is an amazing thing to have in top flight football. We’ve looked a lot better in the last few weeks. Onwards and upwards. It would’ve shattered us today if we didn't win... but we did.

Was the Yak not offside and involved for Vaughan's goal? He was certainly obstructing Jensen...

Suppose we were robbed against Brum with Louis's goal.

Could have easily lost today...

Did anyone else notice we played better without Cahill? His first touch has been terrible, and he can't hold the ball up. He wasn't even a threat from set pieces, so why is he constantly first on the team sheet?

Don't get me wrong, I am more than over the moon with the win, and the improvement over the last few games, but 5 points from Bimingham (H), Sunderland (A) and Burnley (H) isn’t good enough by any standard.

Despite the ’wonderful’ picture I had, I thought we played ok. Still look fragile at the back and the final ball/ shot is lacking but the rest of the play was good with joined up stuff and everything.

My only hope now is that if, as it seems, Cahill is out for a while we don’t push Fellaini up behind the striker as then we’ll resort back to hoofball. Put Osman there with Neville at DM and Fellaini at CM and we should have a decent attacking as well as improve the defensive side.

Now all we have to do is get some shooting practice in in training...
