Alan Irvine Sacked

Unlucky Alan, you were doing a good job there for a while as yuo had previously done at Everton also. Good luck finding something new!

Whats the betting he’s back with Moyesy in some capacity before February?

I would imagine he’s more likely to take the Dundee Utd job — he used to play for them.

And yet he was seen by some as the real reason behind Everton’s renaissance under Moyes. Can’t see him coming back with Round in his place.

Unbelievable decision. So you go on a bit of a bad run and get the sack? It’s getting stupid. He did well and won’t have a problem getting another job in football.

Megson gone now as well. How about Curbishley to Bolton and Megson to Preston?

Brendan,
Not so unbelievable in the (ahem) Championship. On the basis of the "bad run" given as the reason for Irvine’s sacking, both Moyes and Coyle (and probably the Fat Spanish Waiter) would be on the dole in that division.
And whatever the DM haters on here say, that kind of short-termism is not good for any club.
Irvine took them to the playoffs this year and for them dropping to 16th he gets sacked. Ludicrous.

I know I’m probably a bit slow picking up on this one – but just saw Alan Irvine was sacked by Preston last week. That despite the statement by the captain: "He is probably the best manager I've ever worked with…" [Link : http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/p/preston/8433842.stm]

SAF Junior, now the next Messiah – yeah right. But I thought Alan Irvine did seem like a decent Nr.2 when he was around and things haven’t been the same since.

I have no idea what Steve Round is doing or not doing but even when Moyes was on his own things were better... Ah, the good old days.

Now back to reality, where in the name of goodness are all our players with their injuries? Do we have money? Or are we just like most states and banks borrowing from future generations? No need to answer- I’m just thinking out loud – forgive me.
